I have a vibration sensor for the door grille, magnetic sensor for the internal door.

im not sure for all these vibration sensor for grill, its not that the burglar is a monkey that hard shake the grill , then again if set to minimum sensitivity will not trigger to the alarm , i always put my self in the burglar shoe.....if i want to go in ur house , first thing is see where is the sensor and disable it first....it has to be attached to the grill....logically easy to take out ....

i've yet to get a alarm system for my house .....with all these thinking i still couldnt get a robust system that will pass me first. Sometime i feel really sad that we live in fear even in our own property .....how can we improve this in malaysia?

I think what pg84 meant is, the burglar may detached the vibration sensor from the grill. Because the vibration sensor can be easily detached without triggering the alarm.

But your point is correct also bro, I do agree witha ll of your points. so for those who intend to pasang vibration sensor over main door grill, shall put the sensor over the place where it is hard to be noticed in such away, when the burglar will be very hard to remove it smile.gif

yes my fren thats what i meant .

There are few ways for a person can enter thru ur grill/door vs type of sensor that can detect.
1-use crowbar ( those really big one )to force open ,i personally have one so i know how powerful these things are - vibration sensor ( that if they did not detach the sensor first)
2-carjack ( put in between window bar and force welding point to break- happens to my house back window grill) - no sensor can sense that
3-bolt cutter ( to cut thru those thin decorative style of grill) - no sensor can sense
4-electric grinder - extreme case they pretend to be a renovation contractor. - vibration sensor
5-arc welder - extreme case they pretend to be a renovation contractor. - no sensor can detect.

these are the things in my mind when picking a alarm system and i think i still cant find a good one to deter 1-3 yet.
Of cos getting a dog ,motion sensors with lights are some deterent . But purely on prying open a grill i think its not that tough... sad.gif

I dont think if using car jack, vibration sensor will not be triggered, as when the break of steel, it will trigger the alarm one huge vibration
*
There won't be one huge vibration , cos car jack extend slowly , so the welding point just slowly gives away

I stay in a double storey corner lot, in JB as well, using SP6000. I have 2 keypads, one downstairs somewhere near my main door, another in my bedroom upstairs. I think there are only 2 authorized installer for Paradox in JB (the last time I checked late last year. Mine was from Arrowtec, can't remember the other one. However their prices are more expensive than the prices in KL.

BTW you are at which part of JB?

I also got quote from ADT, their prices are more ex than paradox (in jb) plus need to pay monthly fees so they are out for me. According to the ADT guy, my precint only 3 household use ADT. However ADT is very popular in SG.
