QUOTE(mhhee @ Feb 20 2012, 08:32 AM) Avantis AX1 On the false alarm side. I think every alarm system has its own setting & issue. My current house is using Paradox SP6000, but still every now & then it will triggered the alarm because of renovation works done by my neighbors (Even 3-4 houses on the same row) or firecrackers. I think it's something to do with the vibration sensor & your house structure. For the PIR sensor, so far I never have any issue even though the installer did mention the PIR sensor will be alerted all the time when it detect motion even rat (Like my father's house). So far it never happen to our current house. This post has been edited by leeyung: Feb 20 2012, 10:59 AM |

QUOTE(wdarke @ May 14 2012, 11:39 AM) I don't have a backyard, it's the side door towards the garden. The side door is usually locked, seldom opened. I don't have it on main door grille. If you put it there, u have to be careful when you open your grille daily, unlocking padlock etc. You are correct bro, unless you parallel both sensors into the same zone then it will allow you to have xx seconds for you to disarm. IMHO, if setup grill with vibration sensor at your main gate, it is good for security but will increase the chance of triggering false alarm, like small animal knock one the gate etc (my old house, bird use to do such silly thing). |

QUOTE(KIntos @ May 22 2012, 09:44 AM) the vibration sensor is for the alert when burglar cutting your padlock/padlock ear on the grill which good enough to trigger the alarm. If the burglar intend to remove the sensor go ahead but he need to think twice before decide to remove them which will posibble to trigger the alarm too. I think what pg84 meant is, the burglar may detached the vibration sensor from the grill. Because the vibration sensor can be easily detached without triggering the alarm.Again alarm is for notification and prevention not a full proof system. Even you subscribe ADT, they will only offer you help to call Police for ya with yours ack. But your point is correct also bro, I do agree witha ll of your points. so for those who intend to pasang vibration sensor over main door grill, shall put the sensor over the place where it is hard to be noticed in such away, when the burglar will be very hard to remove it |

QUOTE(pg84 @ May 22 2012, 08:41 PM) yes my fren thats what i meant . 2-carjack, yes this is very common way, thats y you need to emphasis this with your grill maker about this, so that the "safety" gap size on the grill is welded accordingly:DThere are few ways for a person can enter thru ur grill/door vs type of sensor that can detect. 1-use crowbar ( those really big one )to force open ,i personally have one so i know how powerful these things are - vibration sensor ( that if they did not detach the sensor first) 2-carjack ( put in between window bar and force welding point to break- happens to my house back window grill) - no sensor can sense that 3-bolt cutter ( to cut thru those thin decorative style of grill) - no sensor can sense 4-electric grinder - extreme case they pretend to be a renovation contractor. - vibration sensor 5-arc welder - extreme case they pretend to be a renovation contractor. - no sensor can detect. these are the things in my mind when picking a alarm system and i think i still cant find a good one to deter 1-3 yet. Of cos getting a dog ,motion sensors with lights are some deterent . But purely on prying open a grill i think its not that tough... |

QUOTE(tecksoon @ May 23 2012, 03:10 AM) well izzit the aromour window tinted will help, kindda curious whats the grill for, since the vibrattor cant sense the break in I dont think if using car jack, vibration sensor will not be triggered, as when the break of steel, it will trigger the alarm one huge vibrationThis post has been edited by leeyung: May 23 2012, 08:47 AM |
