Metal Songs
Silent - here's one of mine. it sounds fine on my pc, but crap when played on my hi-fi. i need to learn how to properly mix and master recordings. a lot of the parts in this song was lifted from various songs coz i lack the creativity biggrin.gif
Filtered Sense - an old song. crap sound... but i loved the drum beats. sadly i lost the fruityloops file and have no time to re-create it. forgive the fret-wanking.
Fearful Solution - another old song, remade. No solos, coz i'm trying to focus on the overall sound. i think this is the best sounding song i have ever made. heavy guitars, heavy drums.
Metal modD Pants - A Song I recorded for the 3rd Improvisation Challenge.

Electronica
A Japanese Dream - my first electronica song... i used Acid Pro 4, and the vocals were taken from some japanese language learning site.
Jewel - Foolish Games (modD remix) - i chose this song to try out the Vocal Extractor function in Adobe Audition, using the 'Acapella' preset.
The Resort - cool dance song biggrin.gif
Running Away - Trance all the way!
Travelling Back - this time, it's a house song

Untitled - The song's about memories at how thing started in my life. Sparkled and brighten up like never before. A little bit of happiness left inside me that i wanted to let her know. Up until now, i can't find a word to carve a word for this song, because i was left speechless. And yes, it will be rerecorded with my friends as a band soon.Hopefully smile.gif Hope you'll enjoy this song as much as i do, the song in my life i ever composed. Cheers.
People - The second song I've ever composed, i felt that this expressed my inner thought of what my life are to be, journeys with different people, environment around, changing rapidly, which we may never predict what's to come next, who come or who go. It even feels weird when i think my life's like an RPG game, with experience points to level up myself, to reach different stages and levels. but it is just weird, just weird. Hope you'll enjoy it.
Ache - Most emotional song I've ever written, deep within myself, a pain that can't be described upon words. Words and the melody just came out of my mind at the middle of the night in a dark gloomy room of mine. But it is something that I could dig it down inside and bring it out from myself. A pain that can't seem to be healed by anything. And yes, I've determined that I'll even rerecord this song again, with a band. Hope that you feel what I feel, peace.

thanks!

for the drums and bass tracks, i used fruityloops producer. you can get ultra-realistic sounds with that software. with some more tweaks, i could make it sound purely human!

i exported the drums n bass parts into .wav files and mixed it all in Adobe Audition, which is formerly Cooledit Pro. then i recorded the guitar parts.

the rythm guitars were recorded in seperately for left and right tracks. recording in stereo makes it sound so much 'bigger'. i used both my epiphone les paul and ibanez rg to get that different types of tone for each left and right track.

the solo was sh!t alright, but i'm kinda satisfied with the sound. one tip: for solos, don't use too much gain or you'll get screeching trebly sound, unless you actually wanna make it sound like Pantera's solos.

now, how do i get the all the instruments to sing together? what should i improve? jacking up the bass level? drums?

The drums some alright imo! By adding wee bit of Overdrive and Reverb should humanize the track futher more, I think (And some compressing as well? XD).

The call-and-respond solo sounds pretty cool IMO! The rhythm parts are great, just a little too soft. Well my verdict, great track! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif Keep the good work up!

Oh yeah, what equipment did ya use for the guitars?

aaaahh ! the forum swallowed my post, but never actually displayed it...

so summary : negative points only (which are more interesting, and you just assume everything else not mentionned there is super good laugh.gif )

- the snare sound (is it ? the flat drum which sounds like "PAH PAH PAH") is way too synthetic, especially when it's been hit quickly many times. I think it's over-mixed, and maybe not enough reverb on it (or disto ?) (or both ?)

- the guitar solo are not confident enough. hard to describe, but it's like the rythm is microscopically out, and the fingers are not pressing the strings consistently. I don't know if I'm clear... it's more like a feeling than an actual fact you see laugh.gif

All the rest is good (drums, bass, rythm guitars, compo), it's all perfectly enjoyable !! And don't ever tell us you're not creative... that's being rather modest wink.gif

thx guys! (or girls???) thumbup.gif

led_zep_freak: the guitars used were an Ibanez RG470, Epi Leps Paul Gothic, plugged into my Zoom GFX-8.

pix: yeah, i wasn't really happy with the snare sound. i tried looking for a fatter sound, but couldn't find one so i settled on this one. i should've humanized the drum tracks more, like offsetting the beats and volume on random beats a bit, but a bit malas i'd say hehe...

about the guitar solo, i did about 8-10 takes so i probably was feeling a bit tensed coz my clumsy fingers kept making mistakes here n there. what you heard was me try to be too careful with my fingerings, resulting in a stiff solo. no tremolos etc...

thanks for the ego-stroking compliments and the building criticisms... i'll definitely post more of my songs for you to nitpick!

techmax: thanks! i can't put vocals becoz my suara very tak sedap hehe... any vocalists here wanna contribute their voice? i've got lots of metal songs without vocals.

modD > Just finished listening to your song. The title should be "loud" instead of silent. laugh.gif
Cool riffs, it sounds like As-Sahar, Sil Khannaz and co. Good composition, it would be greater if you attack more on the solo with lots of anger! Great job man! thumbup.gif

axe: the title is Silent because the main riff was lifted from another malaysian metal legend - Silent Death!

btw, As-Sahar & Sil-Khannaz both have a great influence in my when i was in school. You have their songs in mp3?

My 1 cent view on the track~

For home recording and with a drum software, the outcome are quite good. But the drum is a bit muddy and the cymbals sounded too digital. The snare drum tone not that bad though for me. The guitar tone can be improved I guess...sounded a bit weak. I don't feel the attack...distortion is best to be "in ya face" thing, not shy2 one hahaha

In general, i like the guitar playing hehehe~

chapree: i didn't like how the rythm guitar came out... you're right, no attack. they were fairly ok when i first recorded, but when i tried to mix everything, i had to lower down the volume of the rythm tracks because it was drowning everything else. so one of my weaknesses lie in getting the correct balance of the rythm and drums/bass tracks.

ruffstuff: the guitar went in my multifx pedal and straight into the Line In of my Gametheater XP.

I could use this music to boost my study feel.. now currently at uni lab. Suddenly felt so fresh after listening some fast + aggresive song. hehehe. Nice one man. Hopefully more people will upload theirs in future too.

Probably more techno songs? easily accesible via computer. doesnt need equips.. and mostly only need to surf and find sound samples. MIX MIX MIX and become Fatboy Slim tongue.gif

thanks!

Escaflowne: the distortion was an accident actually. i forgot to unplug the guitar in the silent part, and my cable's contacts are a bit rusty, so when i move around the distortion comes. i thought it was quite ok so i left it in the song.

blackflam: so you use my song to study eh? if you do badly in your studies (hopefully not) that means my songs are cursed!

A Japanese Dream
my one and only electronica song... i used Acid Pro 4, and the vocals were taken from some japanese language learning site.

My 1.5 cent :
1) Yup, the drum tracks are amazing... I didn't like the bridge tho, too draggy. The rhythm parts are amazing but sounds too thin. Btw, you sure can wank very well! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif Oh yeah, the 'sublime' orchestra sounds pretty funny, tho creates a nice drone effect. wink.gif

2) LOL! Japanese language site?? It sounds alright IMO & I like the way you mix the voice samples.. One thing's bothering me tho, the "oooh" women voice, did you lift that out from some porno??? shocking.gif sweat.gif Maybe that represents your Japanese 'dream', *ahem*!

modD, i like your japanese thinggy.. quite sexual, it all creates a thick atmosphere. Only at one point, the drums sound a bit dry (around the end.. or is it me which is a bit dry ? dry mouth maybe ? laugh.gif), but otherwise really good.

the metal track... mmm... can't even do half of it, you really master the prog ! but i actually don't like it..

nick_drake... ok, so the first 25 seconds are amazing biggrin.gif

just listened to your song just now. man u're awesome! what kind of software that u use to record this? the drums and bass sounded like being played by humans (were they?). i have this *ahem* fl v4.01 and i still struggling to get the whole idea... any tips? sorry if this question had already been asked.

my comments:
overall this song reminds me of slayer during their season and south era. were they your main influence when you write this song? i personally think that the 'bridge' part before the chorus where the double pedal kicking in deed to be added with chugging palm muting from the guitar. or else if you want the guitar to be similar to the 'verse', then the double pedal is not necessary imho...

thanks hendrix!

i used fruityloops studio 4.5.2 for the drums n bass. check out the fruityloops thread, some tips were posted.

yeah somehow after re-listening to the bridge part, it doesn't sound as powerful as i wanted it to be. i'll try adding dbl pedals later.

i only like a handful of slayer songs, but my influences were mostly 80/90s malaysian metal bands. and also black metal bands like Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir. i guess that's why i tend to overuse the Minor scale biggrin.gif

i finally found the secret to heavy riffs... lots of layers! for the fearful solution song, i used 3 layers of guitar on each left & right channel, set at 100%, 60% and 30%. that created a wider soundstage for the guitars, makes the rythm sound more dynamic.

i used very little reverb. too high reverb and the guitars will lose its sharpness and attack, too low reverb will result in very dry guitar sound.

it would be even better if i have a hi-q microphone and a good amp. can do direct amp-miking. but the hardest thing for me to do was to find the perfect drum sound that doesn't interfere with the guitars' frequencies.

how i wish i've got pro recording equipments biggrin.gif

that's because i no longer have any 'kaki' to go jamming. during student years i used to be a hermit in my room and just play with music softwares biggrin.gif

btw, equating me with Trent Reznor is too much la biggrin.gif i tried to fuse metal and electronic, but i couldn't get anything good. it's harder than i thought... all i got were some cheesy electro-rock sh1ts biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

butterflies, the mix too loud for the guitar.. i hear it 'terasing' from drums..also wif drum u need to adjust the velocity(volume) and stop looping the same riff and drum..same pattern loop its kinda boring(sorry but i have to say this)..i think u need to add a little reeverb to guitar tracks and remove the noise and eqing it..

WTF Blacktrix, your playing has improved some! Your guitar lessons have paid off!!! Great playing man & very nice tones! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

The bluesy tone is surprising too!!! The ceramic (Right?) pickups in it may not be as warm as alcinos but man, it doesn't sound half bad!!! The reverb's very surfy! I love this track!! thumbup.gif

Ok... Stuck Here (All Alone) was a song I wrote back in 2003. I did it on an El Cheapo acoustic (with a passive pick-up addon) and my Les Paul BEFORE the EMGs were installed. Also, didn't have the experience I have now and I hated the solo I did back then. So I went back, re-recorded everything (I also dropped it from Half step down to a full step down tuning) and I'm now working on the drum loop.

I'm not really experienced in drum loops though..... anyone good with Drum Looping software????

I think we have some vocalists here. They posted thier "voice" at the Musicians Recruitment Thread.

@blacktrix

I think you should finish up the song (Stuck_Here_Sample). Don't worry about the drums, once the song is finished from start to end ..... drums can easily come in with any riffs.

I even figure out which drum beat to use for that song already coz I tried out on the drums with that sample. biggrin.gif

meaning no vocals or drum tracks or bass tracks...
And I still have to work on a proper bassline and the drum programming. That will take some time.

This one sounds very good too!!! What was your recording equipment? You used your AD30VT? The guitar could use some compression and EQ-ing but otherwise would sound very good! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif Very tight playing too, I love it!

bitterpillsweet, I'm the echo the opinion that the guitar's kinda out but I like the singing. I think you have potential to create something amazing. Well, keep the good work up. thumbup.gif

anyone up for a virtual jam? lots of other music forums have similiar jams like this so i thought we could start one of our own...

basicly one backing track... and we jam for like maybe a minute or minute half each...
please tell if you'll like to work on the next one so we dont get 2 tracks at the same time....

this is a sorta bluesy backing track.... very easy
more suggestions welcomed

let me have the honour of having the 1st jam tongue.gif

This time I reckon we get our friendly mod the Whacker to join. cool.gif After all, he's the one of the few guitarists here who has never post a clip. tongue.gif Bet his l337 Clapton licks would kill all of us. notworthy.gif Or me, at lest. sad.gif

Actually your guitar sound's struggling to cut through the mixlar, a little more boost in the mid or volume would've been useful.

the fretboard ripped song... mmmm... did you listen to it yourself ? my ears are still bleeding...
the second song, i like your rythm playing (i believe the main rythm is not from you, but you are the 2nd rythm guitar, right ? + solo one of course). But here again, the solo shows that you miss a bit of confidence on the fretboard.
Weird thing : when you play fast alt. picking, it's OK... as soon as you slow things down, I can really hear that you have a lot of work in front of you, especially when it comes to FLUIDITY and "strength" (=what I call "confidence")

B-trix > pretty cool, huh ! so your "Stuck Here" was done a long time ago ? Well, it sounds real good. I would say you could put some bends in there, though. But it's just because my name is Pix and I have to point out what could (IMO) be better.
The Mama's solo is cool too, no bend problem, everything is smooth and powerful. You want one critic though ? Feels like some of your pull-offs are not really in tempo... like you're running in front or behind the beat. Yet, it's very very very tiny... I do have a problem when it comes to nail those little things down to the tempo too, so that's why I noticed it... I know one guy who's real good about this, and that's Jemi.

Evo.com / very Santana_like !! the tempo, the licks, the spirit, it's all there ! Caramba, tequila y chiquitas !!! True about the scooped sound, you could have keep a soft and mellow sound, but with a bit more mids in it. Otherwise... what else... it's a cool and lay down solo, congrats smile.gif

Regarding the track, there's some keyboard solo (1:40 ~ 2:10) and guitar solo (3:41 ~ 4:13) ... a bit disturbing...

Just read the comments Pix..... yes, I do realize there are problems with the bends..... that's why I'm redoing the song again.
And for mama, I wasn't following a Metrenome or counter, so timing was DEFINATELY off....... just wanted to test out a solo... that's all.

And for the Jam project. You know I'm just going in an ruining it with all the Pings, right?? Hahahahaha.

yea i used one of santanas signature licks.... the repeated legatos and then off to one octave lower and decend.... guess age really does reflect experience tongue.gif tongue.gif the rest is all done with the blues/dorian scale...

im sure you can solo over the solos.... or maybe do some nice funnk riffing for the guitar solo

By the way, we should make a REAAALLLY long backing track so more instruments can be played.... maybe a little Violin (since there's so much activity about violins on the board) or some classical piano style..... I might even break out my turntables!!!

The thing about your altenate picking is that you don't have enough fluidity, you have to take things slowly and practise those licks to a metronome. Starting from a tempo that you can handle and gradually build up your speed. It's boring stuff but it pays off. If shred's what you're going for, that is!
As for slow playing, try mastering several vibratos, you would be surprised how useful they are.
The riff's ace tho. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif
Downloading your other track, hope it's better than your previous one. thumbup.gif

i think you should boost mids for the solo....easier to hear the sound..
also it seems like that your freting hand is trying quite hard to follow the picking... like everyone said.... a metronome would really help...
try and get the speed kills instruct vid and chris impellideri(sp) instruc vid
shredder vids... not my cup of tea... but im sure u'll love it smile.gif

Yup... just set the beat to 4/4 (Or whatever you like!) and write your own altenate picking exercise. Otherwise just lift it off any of your favourite solos and play it starting with a slow tempo. Remember, don't rush, increase the tempo gradually (by 5/10 bmp each time) only when you've mastered the one you're practising on. thumbup.gif

and btw for the metronome thing, for alternate picking, like what led_zep said. slowly and gradually increase spped as you go on. Also, relax your fingers when playing a lick as stressing it will only cause you to slow down more. IF you want to practice with a metronome, try counting when picking. For instance, for every click(or chime or whatever the sound the metronome makes tongue.gif ) try picking 4 notes..so for every click you pick 4 notes...thats the most common way to practice the metronome IMO.. smile.gif

Yes...
Actually forget about the beat partlar... with a metronome it's all the same, tick-tick-tick-tick etc...
You can play one note per click, quavers (2 notes per click), semi-quavers (4 notes), triplets (3) or hell 16th notes etc...
Of course if you're lazy to write, you can always get some lessons from MySongBook.

z3r0l33t, join lar! But gotta wait for Pix's reply first, he might have recorded his already. thumbup.gif

yes, i finish my solo already:
http://s34.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=23LK9BM...UN2P6Y23YGDY6SE

so about the solo :
1/ sorry about the album name and the comments... just joking wink.gif
2/ At first I wanted to go with some freaky stuff, without bothering about a melody, but then suddenly i noticed that it was the summertime backtrack ! that "summertime" theme came up in my cloudy mind... just addictive.
3/ I may have put the solo track a bit too loud, let me know what you think about that especially. Is it "normal" level or not, for a solo track ?
4/ Some timing issues... as usual sad.gif

led zep, sorry, I actually took the space right after evo.com, i didn't read your post before ! Just after me, there's the keyboard solo (and I followed it with my guitar for a while)... I wouldn't recommend anyone to add too much guitar on top of it, keep it breathing...

HH7, i never practise with a metronome, really... some times, but not much. I prefer to practise with a backing track, it's funnier. Yet I think the very important thing is that you devellop your ear ! No, not the left ear. Not the right either... they're big enough as it is biggrin.gif i'm talking about the Musical one !!!
Not to say that I'm a pro in this area, but I know how to listen to myself over a song, to know whether I'm being musical, or in the rythm. As soon as you notice your flaws, you'll naturally find your way to correct most of them.

Playing "themes" from instrumental or vocal song will also help you to strength up your confidence. If you're a fan of Satch, try playing Always with me, Always with you / Surfing with the alien / Summer song / etc etc... All the themes are really easy to play (I mean, the first few bars with the melody, not the solo itself !), but they need to be right on spot. It's very instructive. Or you can try to play "TV" theme, or any kind of more jazzy theme. It's all slow and meaningful. That's what you need in your playing : slow and meaningful sentences...
Hope that helps...

no point to have the speed and not the accuracy... it'll just sound like someone with only one aim and thats to play as fast as possible...
juz chill and keep practicing with a metronome... im sure after 1-2 years of constant practice you'll be shredding like becker smile.gif

i gave up 6 months ago.... cuz im poo at shredding sad.gif

zeroleet> talk it over with led zep... dont start 1st

EDIT : wow pix.... the intro really gives a nice continue... i thought the best part was at the 1.19 mark with that bend....

i reckon the song could fit another 5 or so ppl in it....its 6 mins long
ps: next guy change the file name into LYN jam or something like that

yep, keep it coming guys wink.gif and thanks for the ...

err...

1 and a half comments on my part. woow.
Thanks to you guys, I will improve a lot ! hehehe

Led Zep, oh yeah the reverb... totally forgot about that. Actually I was so tired, I was focusing too much on playing and overlooked the sound. I played with the JS, correct (bridge humbucker), through a Marshall Plexi Variac and a 4x12 Custom, recorded with a Shure 57 on axis, in a medium-sized hall.

Damn, all that in a red bean... biggrin.gif

The tapping part at the end is just a layer on top of the keyboard part, which is doing exactly the same tapping thing. So i was already there. i wonder what you're gonna do on the kboard solo...

I can play drums since there's so many of you guys on guitars.

Or I can add in some piano riffs.

I'm not that "good" in guitars, just to let you all know. I still have alot to learn. It's a never an ending learning process smile.gif

The tapping part at the end is just a layer on top of the keyboard part, which is doing exactly the same tapping thing. So i was already there. i wonder what you're gonna do on the kboard solo...

Not much I guess! Don't want to mess it up. XD But your tapping fit the track well. thumbup.gif

Ok..... here's my solo on the 4:41 mark...... I still want to imporve it though..... Will wait for Led_zep and see what he does and then I'll do another recording.

Besides, I'm using Adobe Audition to track it, so it's easy for me to edit.....

By the way...... who did the keyboards??

And we should also list who did what in order....

Forget about humbuckers, here comes the single coils! tongue.gif Here's mine anyway :

I can use any scale, but it must be in the key of A right?

Yeah, if you're not sure, you can stick to A minor pentatonic. thumbup.gif That's what I did (With a little extra notes). tongue.gif

Heh... thanks. thumbup.gif Some of the bends are really off anyway. Hard to get them right sad.gif
I didn't use much effects anyway, it's just guitar -> TS9 (Drive at 4o'clock) -> Magicstomp (Used a fairly driven amp model)
And then added compression, EQing & subtle delay and reverb with Cubase.
Oh yeah, a light touch of Phaser to give that 70s/Rory feel too. laugh.gif

Oh btw, I'm sure you can tell who I've been listening to recently. tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

I think the track should fit 3 more guitarists including Blacktrix. If hh7's chipping in, then that leaves 1 space. Hurry guys!

A very very light phaser effect, to give that 'tape' effect lol.

Nah, most of it belongs to SRV. tongue.gif The bends are stolen from Albert King tho. tongue.gif tongue.gif who heavily influenced SRV... so... rolleyes.gif tongue.gif

and i just watched the SRV live blues in tokyo yesterday.... sad.gif

EDIT: well actually i thought the phaser effect is quite similiar to the univibe SRV uses... and the tone is quite jimi like... very fuzzy...

speaking bout SRV... came across this website today

takes a while to load

ManMeng - Moon
Lyrics Written by : ManMeng Ng
Music Composed by: ManMeng Ng
Singer : ManMeng Ng
Song Title : Moon

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you ever trapped in a situation where trying is just not enough, the more you climb and scream, the more you'll fall, as if the things that is right to be done are not right at all anymore? Where you have nowhere to hold on telling you that what is right or wrong anymore. But somehow we'll learn that there are thing's that will always left unanswered and best even if it's not even mentioned. This is song is to question all the stupidness that occurs in this world that no one dare to doubt and question about it. Thanks again.

The world's changing, but so do the people, looking as people around you come and go all the time. You sometimes bump into people that you knew years before, but knowing that they does not recognize you anymore.

Song Title : Thanks

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Friends nowadays, are worth of a few 'clicks' on your mouse clicks, like friendster, what type of 'friend' is 'friend' that you can find nowadays? Hello Bye Bye?. I can't express how grateful I am afterall, to realize there are still a small amount of friend which are worthy for my respect and salute, and thus, i made this song solely for you. My friend, thanks. If you like it, please send it to the friend that you want to thank, or the one you love. thanks. Thanks again.

ManMeng - Room
Lyrics Written by : ManMeng Ng
Music Composed by: ManMeng Ng
Singer : ManMeng Ng
Song Title : Room
Copyright 2005 ManMeng.net
Download : http://www.oneduasan.com/manmeng%20-%20room.zip

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is the feeling of living, waking, facing
the challenges all alone in a restricted room, where
you have no air to breathe, no lights that shines in
for you. Sounds echoed all around you with yourself
talking to yourself, trying to ask for people to guide
you out from the darkness. It is afterall, does not sound
as that bad as I describe here, hope you enjoy this
piece of work of mine, like what i really do.
(p.s. - there's an alternate acoustic version for it)

ManMeng - Untitled

Singer : ManMeng Ng
Song Title : Untitled

Download : http://www.oneduasan.com/manmeng%20-%20untitled.zip

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The song's about memories at how thing started in
my life. Sparkled and brighten up like never
before. A little bit of happiness left inside me
that i wanted to let her know. Up until now, i
can't find a word to carve a word for this song,
because i was left speechless. And yes, it will be
rerecorded with my friends as a band soon.
Hopefully smile.gif Hope you'll enjoy this song as much
as i do, the song in my life i ever composed. Cheers.

ManMeng - People
Lyrics Written by : ManMeng Ng
Music Composed by: ManMeng Ng
Singer : ManMeng Ng
Song Title : People
Copyright 2005 ManMeng.net
Download : http://www.oneduasan.com/manmeng%20-%20people.zip
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The second song I've ever composed, i felt that
this expressed my inner thought of what my life
are to be, journeys with different people,
environment around, changing rapidly, which we may
never predict what's to come next, who come or who
go. It even feels weird when i think my life's
like an RPG game, with experience points to level
up myself, to reach different stages and levels.
but it is just weird, just weird. Hope you'll enjoy it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ManMeng - Ache
Lyrics Written by : ManMeng Ng
Music Composed by: ManMeng Ng
Singer : ManMeng Ng
Song Title : Ache
Copyright 2005 ManMeng.net
Download : http://www.oneduasan.com/manmeng%20-%20ache.zip
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Most emotional song I've ever written, deep within
myself, a pain that can't be described upon words.
Words and the melody just came out of my mind at
the middle of the night in a dark gloomy room of
mine. But it is something that I could dig it down
inside and bring it out from myself. A pain that
can't seem to be healed by anything. And yes, I've
determined that I'll even rerecord this song
again, with a band. Hope that you feel what I
feel, peace.

Lyrics for Moon
---------------------------------
ManMeng - Moon
Lyrics Written by : ManMeng Ng
Music Composed by: ManMeng Ng
Singer : ManMeng Ng
Song Title : Moon
Copyright 2005 ManMeng.net

Sing a song for me,
Clear me out from sleepless nights,
I've been reaching out for help,
And I still could not see at all,

I've seen so many been fooled
I never want to be hurt,
It's so insane,
Why I have to bear these hate & pain

*Chorus*
Tell me why, what's wrong or right,
Do we fight back all the time,
The answer seems unclear,
I'm so dried that i have no tears

All the while, it's hard to find,
Way to trash away my fear,
Could you let me rest awhile,
And give me chance to smile,

Even if i try,
You're still slipping away,
Trying to stop myself,
Thinking about that tragic day.

I'm running around,
There's too much sadness to come,
There's no light at all but I'll still,
Find my own way out,

*Bridge*
The feeling tastes bitter, when it's over,
But between us, there's no one wrong.
There's so many question left unanswered,
But I'll keep on to be strong.

Sing a song for me,
Clear me out from sleepless nights,
I wrote this song,
Because I recall the day you're gone,

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you ever trapped in a situation where trying is just not enough, the more you climb and scream, the more you'll fall, as if the things that is right to be done are not right at all anymore? we're a big family, it's all done in the greatest spirit of learning from each others. let's be frank : genius guitarists are out gigging or dead.. so who does that leave in this forum ? laugh.gif

Yup. What Led_zep says. in the mean time, I can work on a (sic) wicked solo.... Which everybody will start rolling their eyes, covering their ears... and then say.... "no.... it WAS good. Could use some work..... but.... to everyone their own style"....

I'm gonna listen to the recently posted tacks soon.. so i'll just a comment for blacktrix :
Just Do It.

I've spent a fjooking night (7pm to noon) recording my part, trying and experimenting weird sounds. At the end, I did what I wanted to do, from a melodic point of view. Even from a "feeling" point of view. But from the technical side, I did what I could do : my technic was sloppy because my fingers were just so weak at midnight ! I couldn't do one more legato or one more bend without twitching my whole body to support the effort sad.gif
But I did it, and I know it's not perfect, but it will never be ! So let it go once for all and move on wink.gif You're on schedule here, and you're kindda paralysing the whole song...

I listen to your "preview" (sory about he delay, no internet during week ends... but it'll change sooon !), and I liked it, sound is good and I like the whole evolution of your solo. You really kept a whole lick coming all over the piece, and you include different improvisations in between. Very jazzy way-of-doing. Basically, I'm trying to say : your composition is interesting ! That's a great achievment.
Now the bad side : the lick itself feels too much like an exercise (well.. it is an exercise ! running down the pentatonic with 3-notes group) .. but that's about it when it comes to the bad side wink.gif

hey z3r0l33t, you going to be finished soon?
Cause my solo is already done.... just waiting for your track so I can dub it over....

If you guys want a sample, I'll be glad to post it..... or would you rather wait to be surprised?

I took your advice and did a 50% pre-thought of solo and another 50% pure improv solo..... Sure, I miss a few notes and screw up a bend or two, but it's the best I can come up with so far....

zep-man : i like your solo ! the sound is interesting, even if reminding me of the sound of the end guitar solo (the one which was already there), it's kinda exotic and weird, yet it fits the song nicely. At some point I feared it was going to sound messy, but it hold alright.
the solo itself contains some soulful and flashy (in a bluesy kind of way) licks, i can see you improved quite a lot compared to your previous pieces. that's a really good thing ! now, if you allow me to whacker you a little bit, i may just say that the whole solo misses "purpose". There's no "point" to it... deliciously pointless biggrin.gif another thing is about your vibrato, it's quite unmistakable ! laugh.gif that's cool, i'm jealous wink.gif But actually, even though it's all about personnal taste, but I'm not usually a big fan of short and fast vibrato.

ok, Good job overall (IMO) !! yeah !!

nice tone too thumbup.gif
but the pauses in between are really annoying... maybe instead of muting at the last note you could hold and sustain.. then continue to the next lick
well im not qualified to give any advice but hey... juz my 2 cents smile.gif

evo ... stop being modest laugh.gif you're more than qualified ! as a beginning, you own one pair of ears... that's the only needed requirement.
In the opposite, the better you play, the poorest critic you are : you tend to make a standing ovation to any kind of guitar playing biggrin.gif

selamat hari raya to those celebrating... i'm starting a new project band currently 2 members. i'm handling song arrangement mostly on drums / guitars. here is sumthing i did over the last few days of puasa, just finished the rough version last nite. i'm waiting for my band member to add some strings and keys. all tracks except guitars was layed out using Roland's TTS in Sonar. Quite simple i'd say, many more tracks to add not to mention vocals.. feel free to comment...

zeroleet: you remind me of a certain sssslayerrrr... laugh.gif sharp, fast and totally in the tempo alt. picking, very impressive technique !! really clean. i can hear that you have a serious amount of theory background too, hearing at the way you play with arpeggios licks ? (maybe i'm wrong ?). even the slow parts are lovely (a bit linear though, i must say), falling right within the harmony.
i have some difficulties with your ultra overdriven sound... that's way out of the spirit of the song in my opinion... or maybe i'm just being jealous tongue.gif

yo pix, i like your playing as well man.I think it has more feel than mine IMO hehe...hmm it wasnt really an appregio lick, just a short 2 string lick that i extended..sounds like one but isnt really one..and yeah,i thought about the overdriven tone, and i feel like it had wayy to much gain on...or maybe its bcos of the chorus effect hehe..

OK! OK! I'm done!
Not the most perfect solo, but it's the best I got.....

Sorry for all the missed notes and horrible bends....

No way, it sounds great!! A few mistakes here and there but definitely more 'humane'. I love the ending especially, it's much better than that you did in the preview imo. Great solo, really. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Now, somebody NEEDS to finish this damn track, or we're stuck.

iliveunderwater > it's what a guitar solo is about... no ? I mean.. you can solo in the lower octave if you want, but it won't sound so outstanding from the backing track. It's quite hard to make a good mix with "low" solo (that's my opinion) and make it sound soulful for quite a while, esp. while improvising (still my opinion).
However, I did start around the 5th fret for the solo, but that's because I'm naturally outstanding wink.gif

tanton82, yes, obviously, we are just joking. And no, i'm not that mature. I mean, I will probably never be that mature and reach a place of mind where I won't ever joke about a government anymore... And Evo.Com sarted it all... booooh biggrin.gif

(panning : you can choose the position of your sound within the stereo space... 20% left, 40% right, etc... the extreme right would be 100% right, whereas a center sound would be 0%.)

And Evo.Com sarted it all... booooh biggrin.gif

evo.com > don't worry, I found your post really funny, and that was the whole point wink.gif if some "robots" are against us, let's just retaliate with some funky acidic guitar riffs.

jemi, dling now...

iliveunderwater, i don't understand your remark. we might not be superb players (except for me, that is), but yeah, it's what we call solo. I wouldn't mind if someone played some violins or piano...

Ooooh, maybe you didn't get the whole point of the song ? sorry then/... let's recap.
Someone posts a backtrack (drums, bass, rythm), and each of us here are planting a 1-minute solo on top of it.. So at the end you have a backtrack with 6 solos (or more) stick to each others...

someone plays the rhythm and one jams along... then they switch etc etc
its the same... except we have the rhythm rdy and we dont meet each other...

Think of it as an extended Jam session in a dingy club where the lighting is sooooo bad that you can't see anyone and the backing band is actually a CD player.

We're not making a whole new song here..... just showcasing some of our guitar talents. We'll definately write a song one-of-these-days but not so soon. This is kind of a preview of what we're capable of.

jemi > Too bad you're so far on the left sad.gif it's hard to enjoy your full talent in this way... you're still a technical master, but the fact that you had only 30 seconds pushed you too much, no? And I can hear you've got tired fingers... a bit messy in some licks.
you have plenty of ideas, but not enough time to devellop them, next time i hope you'll have longer bit. oooh, for instance, that vibrato "diving" action is really inspiring, but cut short. grrr.

blacktrix, hey, it's a weird feeling : it's like i'm hearing myself, with additional pings ( and after few more years of practise, i must confess) wink.gif I like it ! Still some unclean parts, but I can see you worked hard on it.

all in all, i can hear in jemi and blacktrix's parts more tireness than with the other dudes (I was dead-fingered also, but i was going much slower that you two, so I can't hear it that much).

About 17-18 when he did the demo. And I wouldn't call it "having his own tech". It was basically him and a guy in the studio, just hammering away tune after tune.

sure it would be more fun... but its much easier to do it this way....
we have a backing track.... we can spend as much time as we want on the project instead of on-the-spot improvisions..... less pressure....
and finally... not all of us live in klang valley....

so with this virtual jam... anyone with an internet connection can participate.. no troubles at all

the overall sound is a bit messy, i wonder whether the low freq. are too loud ? the composition is good, incl. rythm / melody / groovy, and your fruity loops track doesn't sound too de-humanized.
regarding the guitar, i think your sound is too "weak", there's not enough punch for a lead guitar. Try amp settings with less bass and more mids ? i dunno... experiment.
You have really good ideas for the guitar solo, a mix of soulful melody with lightning fast licks. I like it ! Sometimes though, it's not clean enough.

great composition... but playing abit sloppy
maybe try vst plugins like amplitube or guitar rig to get a better tone
the flow is really nice.... not just some random 180bpm wanking
i wish i could play like you sad.gif

I will reduce the beats next time for better playing .... ,
cos apa daya skill tak sampai apabila beat too fast .... >.<
hmmm yes I got problem with the tone, I reduced the high gain already but still too scratchy ...

amplitube guitar? seems great, anyone know how to use it?? thx smile.gif

I heard the track just now and thought it wasn't too bad. It's a little messy and sometimes out of tune, i guess. The guitar's pretty much buried in the mix, so try bringing up the volume as well as the mid frequency. Otherwise, not a bad effort at all. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

I ve tried to combine frutty loop and my guitar play

inspired by power metal song, and japanese game music ^^
there is a lil bit out of tempo, cos Its quite hard to follow the beat
with the licks tongue.gif .

you can download the music here

Err.. Do you mind share the backing track? I would like to give a try, for myself actually. by the way, is it your own composition on the guitar part?

OceanRed, great stuff you got there. I downloaded Almast and Euphoria and WOW! It's like 2 different ends of the world! Both are very different (One's jazzy the other's electronica-ish) yet both sound great!

One thing I like about the piano is that you could play both the rhythm/bass line while playing lead, and I must say you could coordinate both hands well! Very tasty choice of notes too, very very jazzy! You must have played the piano/keys for a long time, professionally? thumbup.gif thumbup.gif Love to hear more from you! thumbup.gif

I'm glad biggrin.gif
Now there are two people in the world who like Euphoria. I used to think it was a song for myself only.

I play the piano by year, took a few years lessons of those only, so i'm pretty limited. What you hear is all i can play. But still, nice to be complimented. Almast is an old song, done some time ago, so i don't think i can play it perfectly now blush.gif

I use an old microphone, and the electronica is through piano.

Good, i'll try something new. But i'm a noob at electronica, gonna try Tu2 for a more varied background. The drum track right? If it's static, then it's not your style, i do this kinda "elevator " music. Thanks for the feedback.

savio, don't be modest, you play very very good piano, especially knwoing that you compose those tracks... franckly, that's impressive ! (i just heard almast) it's true it's a bit "music lift's style", but you master it pretty well. If you play live as good as on the tracks, you should go for live performing in hotels (you know, they propose some background piano during cocktails).

I didn't listen to other track, cuz slow connection...

Jemi... what to say about you...
you're playing furious solos, they sound very "clean". Your whole playing is clean...
The sweepings ? Woaw... very impressive. A bit too much of them for my taste though wink.gif Actually, the ones at 1:05 are kicking in plenty of good freaking energy, but the ones at 1:18 don't fit in.

The "bluesy" parts (stratospheric bends, pentatonic licks, artificial/pinched harmonics) are really awesome, but slightly too "mechanical" and perfect.

The start noises sound like satch stuff, a little bit. Satch has a way to make those kinds of intro very "interesting", original and leading to something. Here it lacks that "leading to something" approach. I'm dreaming too of doing such purposeful intro, as the master does... but it's just too hard for me sad.gif

Guitar sound is good in the beginning (very "old" satch), then the solo sound is typical from Jemi, Ssslayerr and friends... cold and sharp, ultra-compressed... pouuuuark. laugh.gif The main disapointment comes from the overall balance : Bass and trebles are 15dB too loud, it's awful (cuz consequently, guitar is 15dB too low !!). I guess that's Animesan who is to blame here, but Jemi, you could have rectified that. Don't you feel like your solo is way too deep in the mix ? Or is it my hearphones ?? I don't think so : bass are so loud, they're saturating !

To end that very mean critic : there's no ending to the solo... it does finish at 1:32 correct ? You still stuck in a flashy alt. picking run on the low frets...

Well, your solo is already at "pro" level, you've got your style, the ideas, the crazyness, the technic... i'm totally blown away. That's why i'm doing such rough & raw critics : that's the only thing i can give you wink.gif you give me music, i'm giving you opinion... i'm such a looser laugh.gif you rule !

No way you are loser. I like the way you give comment.

* I have to found out what do you mean by 'Leading to something'.
* I don't really realize the guitar sound too deep in the mix, until you & Led told me. Actually this the second exported file, the 1st should be loader.
* For me 1.05 not really fit but 1.18 fit in.. biggrin.gif well.. different people different taste.
* The backing track really stop at 1.32.

Thanks for comment

p/s: I go back adjust the guitar volume setting & upload the file by tommorow. At same time i'll make adjustment on the ending part.

Care to tell which part do you think its out of note?

Thank you. I haven't getting proper train on playing so basically I not really know how advice others player. Anyway base on experience, everyone should practise using metronome as you already know and don't rush to play fast. Make sure play at certain clean & comfortable, don't cheat. If you cheat, you ruin your playing.

Well, 'Yes' i like to hear at my own solo. Come on Pix, anyone like to hear at his own playing, espeacially when you reallize that our own playing already at certain level after all the hard work & frustrating. I means anyone dreaming to play like our guitar hero.

How do I critise my self? Err.. not sure how to answer this. For me to many things I can critise my own playing, the best way I think record & listen. At this time, I just make sure I enjoy with it, make sure all note, bending, vib, slide means anything that I wanna to put in place at the right pitch as planned(sometimes off abit..he..he.. can't avoid it still not Pro yet.) & the same time hope others enjoy it to (this one important to me).

ModD
Thank you very much. Not that great but Oklah.. biggrin.gif

jemi, that wasn't a tricky question.. i genuinely wonder if you (or anyone else) like to hear himself playing. I'm like you, when i record myself, i have a big grin on my face when i hear what i can play ... sometimes> But other times, i feel like i'm so sloppy biggrin.gif

i re-listen to your song... i'm less enthousiastic than the 1st time : now that i can hear exactly your guitar. sometimes, you don't nail the note you 'should' (you know... you bend a note to reach one of the notes used in the next chord, or you end a run, or a legato, on such notes) i.e. 0:53. On the opposite, during your intro, you're nailing them perfectly !
And i'm happy because now i could hear the little flaws during your sweepings or alt. pickings. It makes it more human wink.gif

Overall, you have great ideas to make your solo 'dynamic', your solo is constantly evolving in weird ways. That's your strength. And you have a melodic strength too, cuz you manage to show that you're trying to follow some kind of natural flow... (am i clear ?) But IMO, you have to work on that : be more lay-back during your slow phrases, in terms of tempo. Make it more soulful... and in the fast runs, try to reach those fjooking 'harmonic' notes wink.gif wink.gif
You have great potential, after only 4 or 5 years of playing, is it ? Amazing dude.. very mature.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Miscommunication and misunderstanding caused so many unfairness between friends, parents or lovers. It makes the world even harder to trust people around you when you seemingly see people playing with love for fun. There's even so many out there are hurt while they're not meant to be. Makes all of us questioned wheter the world has always turned in the correct direction? Or is it not a question? That you'll really able to find someone that willing to share their world with you throughfully. Who's going appear?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is there any point in your life where it rains whenever its November? When all of the memories that brings you back to where you have started. Sitting down alone in the room around this time may makes you wonder when you'll fall. The rain's outside with you that's inside.

Song Title : Breathe

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's November, and i thought to write some songs, not for only myself, and the person that i appreciate, but also to thank all my loving friends. Seriously, without you peoples, I ought to know when or where do I'll find another start in my life after some tragic end. And this song should make everyone believe that a bad past doesn't mean it's the end, but instead, it marks a new beginning of a better life! Because of the past, you'll able to have a clearer view and comparison to see and let you treasure how good you are in present now, or in the future.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you ever trapped in a situation where trying is just
not enough, the more you climb and scream, the more you'll
fall, as if the things that is right to be done are not right
at all anymore? Where you have nowhere to hold on telling you
that what is right or wrong anymore. But somehow we'll learn
that there are thing's that will always left unanswered and
best even if it's not even mentioned. This is song is to question
all the stupidness that occurs in this world that no one dare
to doubt and question about it. Please leave your comment to

The world's changing, but so do the people, looking as people

people that you knew years before, but knowing that they does
not recognize you anymore.

'friend' that you can find nowadays? Hello Bye Bye?. I
can't express how grateful I am afterall, to realize there
are still a small amount of friend which are worthy for my
respect and salute, and thus, i made this song solely for you.
My friend, thanks. If you like it, please send it to the friend

Song Title : Room

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is the feeling of living, waking, facing
the challenges all alone in a restricted room, where
you have no air to breathe, no lights that shines in
for you. Sounds echoed all around you with yourself
talking to yourself, trying to ask for people to guide
you out from the darkness. It is afterall, does not sound
as that bad as I describe here, hope you enjoy this
piece of work of mine, like what i really do.
(p.s. - there's an alternate acoustic version for it)

Cheers.

Song Title : People

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The second song I've ever composed, i felt that
this expressed my inner thought of what my life
are to be, journeys with different people,
environment around, changing rapidly, which we may
never predict what's to come next, who come or who
go. It even feels weird when i think my life's
like an RPG game, with experience points to level
up myself, to reach different stages and levels.
but it is just weird, just weird. Hope you'll enjoy it.

ManMeng - Ache

Singer : ManMeng Ng

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Most emotional song I've ever written, deep within
myself, a pain that can't be described upon words.
Words and the melody just came out of my mind at
the middle of the night in a dark gloomy room of
mine. But it is something that I could dig it down
inside and bring it out from myself. A pain that
can't seem to be healed by anything. And yes, I've
determined that I'll even rerecord this song
again, with a band. Hope that you feel what I
feel, peace.

headhunter7, just listened to your song, apart from very simple recording stuff and some awful noise at some point, the whole thing is pretty catchy ! rythms are heavy, you're in synch with the drums, it's not too repetitive. is it a compo or from which artist is that ?
just one more thing, the drums cymbals do sound a bit "cooking pan" like wink.gif

Heh. The awful noise was probably the adaptor. I used another one and the noise is gone! biggrin.gif

At the end of the song...it was probably the mic, didnt notice.
Oh and btw it's Unholy Confessions by Avenged Sevenfold thumbup.gif

And I used Audacity, the adaptor had 2 plugins so I connected 2 mics , one infront of my amp and the other one infront the my bro's drum.

The cymbals..whaddya expect ...crappy stock cymbals, asked my bro to change them but still he doesnt buy any new ones. >_>

Here's my song.

EDIT: New recording, 2 guitars harmonizing. biggrin.gif

blacktrix ! you rock ! that's a great idea you just had. did you do all the scratch sounds, or were some already there ? The intro for instance, is it you ? (I dun think so, but I can be sure)
It reminds me of what Van Halen used to do : pop songs revisited by a furious metal guitar.
Your end solo lacks a bit of a kick, except the last part of it, which i like smile.gif And regarding the whole rythm part, you could have push it even more into the "heavier" hell with more PM, in a pantera style... arrrrgh. poor hillary duff laugh.gif One part I like also is the one harmonic note played repeateously during the "break". It lifts the atmosphere by one notch, that's cool.

I wanted to ask for the original mp3, but it's forbidden to ask that kind of stuff here. (yes, that's also a reminder to you guys)

My Scratching and guitar comes in at 9 seconds into the song.... all the scratching noises is my own.

And I know about the guitar parts..... will probably re-do it if I had more time.... But like I said..... was bored and did it in one take.....
All I did was the scratching noises and the crunch guitar...

The solo was me just noodling around pentatonics..... putting to practise what I learnt in guitar classes.... If I went back.... I can definately see where I could improve... Maybe more palm-mutting "chugs" ala Metallica or Megadeth..... maybe some single string parts like Trivium and MORE PINGS!!!

I used my trusty Les Paul, into the Wah, straight into Adobe Audition and added in the crunch via Amplitube. Maybe next time I might use a "heavier" amp and vary my scratching techniques...

Screw Playing with BLS..... I want to be in the Hilary Duff band!!!
Imagine this...... Hilary Duff... all cute and stuff comes up to stage... and I come up in a BLS vest, Zakk Wylde Les Paul, pulling off Dimebag riffs... I'll be shot/beaten up/burned/choped/mangled/all of the above from metal fans everywhere!!

Duff can't sing for crap..... she even have to lip-sync live!

Lately though.. I now dubbed her Skanky Duff.... as evidence by her thin as haggard look that Lindsay went through........F**king Joel Madden....

But actually, I thought up a cool challenge...... Every one get a real Radio-Pop song..... Like a NSync or Kelly Clarkson or whatever and try to metal it up....... Then we all vote on who has the most awsome version of the song! And when I mean Metal it up...... is not re-doing the song completely..... you must have the original song in the background..... like what I did with the Hilary Duff track...... what say you?

(And Pix....... almost EVERY Tahitian girl I've seen is hot..... but then again the media lies alot..... the "Truthiness" of the media is severly compromised these days)

Not so much to say, since I'm not good on giving comments.

First of all, its look like your guitar tune not at right pitch or maybe your fret not in good shape. Err.. i dont know maybe my mistake. What brand is that?

Need to polish on your playing. On the solo site, try dive into your music & feel it, tell people what you ging to tell. I think you should come more musical solo.

Dont give up..

btrix, nice one you got here ! i'm suprised by your choice of 3rd chord... and no 4th chord ? that's weird, and a bit disturbing. Why didn't you follow the bass line ?

You had great ideas overall, but I find it hard to hear your guitar solos, especially towards the end, where you're starting to build stuff (well, by stuff, i mean pings and pentatonic runs wink.gif ) on top of the rythm. You could have spread the stereo a bit... dunno.

And the way you play the rythm is totally different than the way I usually do it : you do this Chung-chaaaaaaah.. Chung-chaaaaaah, that's fun, I'll try that smile.gif And at 2:30, your natural harmonics are freaky !! And you use the wah at some points, that's cool too because it's quite rare. Mine should be finished this week end... I just got a little puppy three days ago, so no time to play guitar yet (he's peeing and pooing all over the place laugh.gif it's like having my own led zep at home tongue.gif ) .

Thanks for the input..... Will fix the levels and post another one soon.....

about the rhythm..... the regular bass line wasn't..... ummmm. Metal enough.... so I just took out a chord and played what I felt......

I didn't use the wah on the end solo, because I felt that too much wah just spoils it...... but I did like it for the lyrical parts.... (The "na na na na na na" parts).... That natural harmonic/wah parts was in the original song, but not the remix.... I liked that part so I threw that in.... although I played it a little differently.... working on adding a "phase" like effect...... should be nice.

And this solo.... yeah.... it was just a pentatonic run with lots of pings and pulls......

I pulled Out a ping on the low a string, but I tuned my guitar's e string to a low d, (that means my tuning is DADGBE) So it's really a "G" when it's down tuned.
that is for the main riff parts.

BTW im writing This on my pda in Bangsar, surrounded by pretty girls. they are all in the bathroom now... can only imagine what they are doing in there...

HH7, just listened to the song finally...
Jemi has been really nice to you actually laugh.gif

Your guitar is not tuned !!! there are dissonances everywhere... com'on, respect your listeners and do songs with a perfectly tuned guitar... where a E is a E and so on...

The solo is a bit out most of the time also, but I can't say if it's because of the bad tuning or a wrong choice of scale..

Good thing : I would have liked the arpeggios main theme, if it wasn't for the tuning. I usually like those moving chords on static melody, very efficient and catchy.

^ agreed on pix there. at least make sure the rythm part is nicely executed.

don't take this wrong but those are my humble opinion as a listener. i envisaged that was done in only one take, was it?

headhunter7

I owned an 'acoustic guitar' as a present from my father, at that time i was 12 years old (Did you notice my acoustic guitar?) Yeah 17 years old 'acoustic guitar'... It's still in good shape but poor contructions. The fret, bridge, saddle, nut all not align. That guitar almost have the same sound as yoursr. So, i guess maybe you facing the same situation as me.

If not, you should start learn to tune your own guitar. Its good for you, to improve your playing you should play in perfect tune.

yo headhunter7, just listened to your song, and i must agree with jemi, though his comments are harsh but its true actually..your tuning of the guitar is definitely out(i know you've heard this comment loads of times, but its best for now to stress on this part for the meantime)..even so, your song is good i must say( if not for the tuning that is tongue.gif ) the solo you did near the end was cool, with a matching progression and correct feel to say the least. overall, bad tuning, but nice song. smile.gif keep up the good work! biggrin.gif

ps: at least you can write a good song..i cant write nuts for now tongue.gif
