QUOTE(jujx @ Aug 12 2013, 01:19 PM) Let us know the result when you did the rest. I'm really interested to get one. Which model you got? More importantly, PICTARSSSSSS! Is the chassis aluminum or plastic? EDIT: The first owner review of the GS70 courtesy of HWZ: http://bit.ly/19cXWsq 3 hours GAMING on battery WTF. With a 4700 proc no less! Now I REALLY JELLY! Heatwise seems similar to the GE40 - Procs get to 95c under load. No mention of the chassis materials though, looks like plastic. This post has been edited by Eiraku: Aug 12 2013, 03:51 PM |

At least for people like @Eiraku it won't fry, eh? I added 8gb DDR3L and Plextor 128GB M5M myself It's a mix between aluminum and plastic, overall very nice. Unlike the GE40 which had some compromises, this one seems to be top calls the whole way through, the works. All that's missing is the GTX780.This post has been edited by Areas Elysian: Aug 12 2013, 07:19 PM |

Video review of the GS70:
http://youtu.be/QaLbVTs2B5k Only bad thing about the GS70 (other than the built in battery) is the fact that NOTHING seems user upgradable/moddable. The guy in the video above says that opening the chassis can result in twisting the entire thing apart. A small price to pay for the slimness, of course. But for tinkerers like me, I'll go nuts not being able to adjust anything in the laptop lol. Hopefully, however, this will entice A LOT of newcomers to the MSI camp. Looks like a great mix of size, mobility and performance indeed. This post has been edited by Eiraku: Aug 12 2013, 08:03 PM |

GS70 is so tempting. How long is the warranty period? Is it local unit or imported?

QUOTE(victor2212 @ Aug 12 2013, 10:46 PM) RAM I know won't void. Storage also SHOULD be okay but please check with the MSI Careline first. @Cimo: All Malaysian sets bro, none of them imported AP crap for MSI lappies YET (unless you import them yourself... ehem, ehem). Warranty is TWO years, and the first year is international warranty (even if you DID import it in, the first year warranty still stands). My experience with MSI services (subcontracted to E-Mantainance) have also has been okay so far, a bit slow-ish but they get the job done satisfactorily, especially if you have access to the main service branch in Kelana Square PJ. My issue was small though ("apparent" AC adapter death) and it might take a week or more if your "issue" is serious enough that it involves exchange of laptop parts because E-M has to order the parts from MSI direct. Just in case you were wondering how MSI service is locally for their laptops. This post has been edited by Eiraku: Aug 13 2013, 01:30 AM |
