hmm...now that i recall...my son never suck his fingers to comfort himself. So i didn't have that problem.
well..what to do...old people will tell you ..that they ate salt first..so we should listen to them.

I need advice. If we plan to exclusively bf our baby for first 6 mths, does it mean that we cant feed the baby our breast milk via bottle? Im afraid if we introduce bottle then its not exclusive bf anymore. N mebbe cn cause nipple confusion?

Kit, Why dont u try a pacifier? My mil said that if addicted to pacifier, u can throw it away... but addicted to sucking finger how? Cut the finger off? lorr, U can introduce bottle feeding after about 4-6 weeks. Cuz by then, u may need to go back to work. Not introducing bottle before that is to avoid nipple confusion and also to build up your supply by the suckling from your baby. Feeding your baby with a bottle with breastmilk and no other liquid is called exclusively breastfeeding too..

it depends lor..my son wean himself off the pacifier before 1yo.
lorr..sbux is right..feeding breastmilk through the bottle is also exclusively bf. Exclusively bf means...feeding your baby with breast milk only . No other fluids eg water is to be fed.
Added on May 5, 2011, 9:05 amoh...i came home from work at 6pm...my son didn't asked for his 'nan nan' till about 830 (before he sleeps). Then..he didn't wake up for his 11pm feed. Only woke up at about 1am...keekek...hopefully this continues and slowly wean himself off (just like his pacifier)

sbux, he din like the pacifier but i dunno abt it now... then again, mil said no pacifier... go figure la... phythia, way to go little xander~! btw the car seat is now permanent in the car i dunno if his sucking is associated to his i-put-everything-into-my-mouth-and-i-even-tasted-the-floor thingy... the only thing he (sorta) likes is his sassy frog teether...

maybe you can eat yoghurt too...up on food that has high calcium like broccoli..lady's fingers..tofu..You can go google to find out what other foods has high calcium.
Just to remind..whatever we eat or drink will be 'reflected' in our breast milk. Sometimes, even though we are tolerant to dairy..our babies may not..thus dairy may not be the right answer to up on calcium intake. Just keep a lookout if you do drink milk or consume dairy.

to me..i think should be fine..coz whatever milk or products are made for bf moms..are safe to consume by any other ladies. If you are not bf..i'll suggest for you to drink the nesvita..calcium fresh milk (though it's more expensive) or probably anlene.
Added on May 9, 2011, 9:29 amunless you are pregnant..then you should double check if it's suitable for pregnant ladies.

I salute you lar..still thinking of having another child. for me 1 sudah cukup lar. Everything is getting expensive..can't afford another baby.
Maybe you wanna try tandem bf? but will be tiring lar..probably you can try after he reach 1yo...as by then your son will be getting most of the nutrients from solids instead of your milk.
