 Maxis is crazy!, F u maxis!

I just got my line barred again. Twice in a week! mad.gif

Here's how it is:
Applied for Samsung Galaxy S package on the 18th of Oct.
Life span - 1 week.

According to Maxis, my data plan only starts on 21th of Oct, so basically I used Maxis 3G on 18th to 20th using their normal rate.
I asked for numbers and she told me I used 234MB and it costs RM1000+. But max billed is RM250 so that's what I am getting.
First off, I was not informed.
Secondly, it is impossible for me to use that much on a phone which never been to Youtube or any movie sites before (so far), and most of the time using wi-fi at home.
Thirdly, I am in an area without 3G, I am getting EDGE at best and 3G in town.

So, WTF?
Barred my line twice, billed me wrongly and was so arrogant to immediately cut me when I am speaking and say iPhone is known to have errors in data reading bla bla bla.

F u Maxis.


Everyone with the same problems, please do share how you solve this? Need help here.

yeap they will never inform u when ur credit runs too high. another lame excuse will always be this : sir, we cannot see how much data ur phone have used until u disconnect the connection urself, then our server will then check how much data u used and we will charge based on that.

thing is, they dun have run-time system to block data to user after limit is reached. and yup, thats how they make money. =)

Yeh...they F***ed up big time. Charged me 1.2k for cancelling iValue 1 and charged me another 1.2k for canceling iValue3. FFS, I didn't even cancel any sh!t.

I hate maxis website login. Once i tried to register an account. Failed like a gazillion times till i gave up and called CS to register for me. Waste of my time....zzzzz

OMG, sounds like this is so damn common with maxis. I can't terminate my contract, they will have charges and it will make things more unworthy...

I do use 3G watchdog to track my internet usage that's why I tell Maxis this is unbelievable.

ALOT of my frens faced this problem. Just sign up for Digi plan and you will not have problems being charged with excessive bandwidth usage as it is free usage on DiGi. Also, Digi is much faster compared to Maxis, I have compared with Maxis 3G loading the same site, youtube, etc. And it has still proven that Digi is twice or more faster than Maxis.

One thing I like to share with you guys also about Maxis service. I used Maxis fixed line back like 4 years ago. But as I have changed houses, I have terminated the fixed line. I am sure you guys know that we have to settle the bill before the line is being terminated right? So, yes I have settled the bill and had it cancelled off. So recently, when I wanted to sign up for iPhone 4, they said Maxis blacklisted me! I went to check with Maxis and they say I have an outstanding amount of RM111.52. Hey WTF is this? I cancelled it off and I still have outstanding amount with them? Ok I screw them up and down, the manager came over instead. After all those bullshit, he told me there's nothing we can do sir, just pay up. WTF?

I have a conclusion here, Maxis is a robber nowadays. They charge you for their mistakes!

same with mine..i've terminated it on april this year, but the bill still come every month. when i go to maxis in shah alam, want to ask why there are still charge, they said cannot see. must go to main center, bla bla bla..

I was Maxis postpaid line user for 4 years before this. I switched to Digi after they charge me additional RM2++ for few months even i only use limited daily charge which should charged max RM5 per day. They using the same excuse to charge me say that the RM5 max plan should start few minutes later before you can use it. F*** Y** Maxis.

Well two months ago I got the Samsung Galaxy S as well. I knew about the "before the roll date is charged as normal rate" so I still had my celcom data only line. After that Used the 500mb la.. 2 weeks in kena barred. I called and ask why they say my line limit RM 100. hello, my plan is 50+58 and u give me a limit of RM 100 ?! WTF ! Fine I pay RM 50 to get it unbarred I asked to check see what was my usage. they say cos I didnt subscribe to itemized billing they cant tell. WTF ! at the end I payed RM 180+ for 1st month and yes subscribed to itemized billing.

even if se the net at off-peak time,n only get on9 for a couple of minuites,
my bill comes over almost rm400...
n dunno what happend,on my bill it shows my usage total data billed for rm600++>>>???
wtf??

Oh man, that's srewed up. Daylight robbery lah maxis! I walked in and talked to the manager made a big fuss there and they the manager a little bit scared. She proposed to waiver the fee off if she has the power. Said she will try to talk to the big boss.

I am signed up for Galaxy S 12 months. I signed up on the 18th of Oct. I was not informed that the bandwidth will get prorated from 18th to 20th and 21th only start 500MB data plan. So, on the 18th to 20th I got 50MB limit.
50MB is a lot for a mobile phone web browsing at least to me. But they claimed I used 235MB and charged me over 1k for it. My 3G Watchdog captured 5MB the first day and at max 20MB la for the 3 days. WTH right....

So, do be careful. Any suspicious charges straight away go complain.

Hmm, just wondering did Maxis provide a 50Mb limit (Megabit) whereas your watchdog captured 5MB (you hit your limit the first day), second day 20MB (roughly 200+Megabit). Could be the reason why you are being charged so much :/

hehe I was a long time subscriber of maxis postpay about 7 years, then about 1 year ago i terminated my line I went to the service center and told them I wanted to terminate and what ever is out standing I will pay there and then. a month later a bill came from maxis, epic RM 1.00. rclxub.gif W t H~ RM 1??? So I kinda ignore it, the bill kept coming for about 1 year.. lol

because i wanted to buy the Samsung Galaxy S, I went and pay the RM 1 and got the phone. LOL. A very common word/phrase they seem to use is "we cant do any thing this is our procedure" , " it is beyond our control ". damn annoying.

Since we are ranting about maxis, when I got my phone (SGS) I didnt notice there was a dead pixel, I brought back the phone and charged it. around 10 pm or so I was playing with it and notice there was a dead pixel, annoyed I went back to the maxis store at 9am. the fellow there said I have to claim warranty. The device was dead on arrival! I didnt even use it, it was in my hands for less than 24 hours! shakehead.gif I asked why, the sales person said cos they already link the IMEI to my account. w t f.. UNLINK it and relink new one la! doh.gif 'we cant do anything its our procedure'

Lucky for them Samsung service was excellent. got my display swaped in 30mins. damn u maxis, i had to drive up and down to fix my issues.

They even called me to do survey, "would you recommend maxis to your friends and family?" my answer fk NO!

For what i know is. maxis will not limit ur bandwidth when u hit ur subscribed package threshold, but instead they calculate it with normal rate, smart ass maxis, 240mb++ cost RM1k+? How much u pay for ur streamyx bill? They purposely create this blind spot to charge customers. I prefer DIGI. They do care for their customer.

Hrrmm... so many complaine about phone provider lately. When you using maxis you said they are not good once you change to Digi then no coverage here and there....I still think that the best is telekom like old school day no mobile phone at all...but of course days after days we change....

why not try celcom, umobile or tune?

Got a weird question to ask... I'm using maxis data plan of 500MB, just wondering how did maxis calculate on the usage every month, is it as long as i'm not exceeding 500MB in a month, then i'm ok... OR they set a limit of 16MB/day, and if i've exceeded 16MB on that particular day, they'll charge accordingly??

I'm so worried of maybe this is the catch that maxis is playing around in order to make more profit... sad.gif Hope that i was thinking too much...

Since we are ranting about maxis, when I got my phone (SGS) I didnt notice there was a dead pixel, I brought back the phone and charged it. around 10 pm or so I was playing with it and notice there was a dead pixel, annoyed I went back to the maxis store at 9am. the fellow there said I have to claim warranty. The device was dead on arrival! I didnt even use it, it was in my hands for less than 24 hours!  shakehead.gif I asked why, the sales person said cos they already link the IMEI to my account. w t f.. UNLINK it and relink new one la!  doh.gif 'we cant do anything its our procedure'

Lucky for them Samsung service was excellent. got my display swaped in 30mins. damn u maxis, i had to drive up and down to fix my issues.

They even called me to do survey, "would you recommend maxis to your friends and family?" my answer fk NO!

i was reload my maxis for rm 5 3 days ago n i tried to subscribe the daily maxis blackberry internet service

n guess what, after 3 minutes i reload up, the credit is now only ringgit 3.12 !! WTF !? where was my money gone???

and again just now i reload rm 3 and i subscribed for the BIS, i got sms stated that "your balance is insufficient so we are unable to process"

Maxis definitely sucks now.. i have never spent more than 70mb for my 100mb per month plan.. but i have been charged for extra rm120! i dunno how their system calculate.. and they said, u must pay first then they will look into the issue! imagine those who overcharged for few hundreds

Just report to SKMM. Last year i've been overcharged with my DG billing (postpaid line) which require me to pay all charges before they deduct the following month. Me then call SKMM which advise me not to pay full amount and lodge report with them. Go back to DG SC tell them i'll only pay what i had used only as per advised from SKMM. (save my hard earned money for that particular month, next month bill next month pay larrrr! icon_rolleyes.gif )

If you took one of those phone packages with the data plans, like for example the 500mb one, once your usage exceeds 500mb they will charge 1 cent per kb. I don't think they ever tried to hide this from you, so no i don't think it's fair to say u r being cheated by maxis if they charge you a bomb this way.

For those people who accidentally exceeded their usage quota and then got charged a bomb by maxis, i only have one word of advice: there is no such thing as free lunch in this world.

You thought you could take advantage of their package deals to get a cheaper phone. This is what you have to be careful about in the end.

That's why ppl need to understand what they are really getting themselves into. Don't just blindly sign up for contract because u can get the phone cheaper, and then complain later when kena charge a bomb and start blaming maxis. We know that. And I wonder why my 3G Watchdog shows 200mb usage but have already pass 500mb according to maxis? 3 time I get bill shock. The third bill shock is the highest and I told them I have been careful with my internet usage, really careful but surprisingly, I get RM380 for my 3rd bill. SIGH!!

Okay, here's an update. Maxis called me twice, I lodged too many complains so they are a little frightened not to do their job. First thing they told me they will give me a RM50 off as a goodwill service.

I told them, at first maxis didn't tell me my data plan only starts after 3 days, wth is that goodwill service? I want full waiver over the bill. Naturally, she replies "there's nothing else I can do, it's the companies policy."

So, I asked for details on my internet usage. The moment she open mouth already got mistake. She said I used 50MB starting from 5pm on the 18th of Oct (the day I registered for SGS). I told her at 5pm I was still waiting in line lah, and my unit took quite sometime because I rejected the first unit, the counter girl only finish registering around 6.30. What are you talking about? Of course I do browse internet when I was trying the phone. But not until 50MB. This is nuts.

Then when I asked for more details about the day after, she kept quiet and just told me the time. WTH is this?

I am too lazy to be bothered anymore. I'll terminate my data plan for RM500 more...
Do you think it's wise to terminate data plan?
If they don't repeat this silly mistake, I might not terminate...

Agreed. If you are very confident and you have the proof that you have only used 200mb, then you definitely should fight for it.

You could also experiment a bit, if you want. Take out your sim card and keep it aside for 1 whole month. After that, go to Maxis and ask them to check your usage. If somehow they still show that you have used data, then you can ask them how is that possible when the sim card is not even in the phone. They will then have to admit there is something wrong with the way they are tracking their customer's usage.

Typical Maxis, when I cancelled Maxis last year, I was made to pay extra RM230, which I do not know what is it for. I was never late in paying my monthly bills and according to them, I had some outstanding charges. When I ask them why didnt they bar me line since I had outstanding charges, they just keep quiet, al they say is "its company policy".

So i have almost rm 200 in the account and i found my money disappear slowly everyday despite i never use my phone. puzzled as i thought someone steal my line or maxis has 'automatically" subscribe me with certain services which is chargeable, i call them up but i was denied to be given any explanation or solution as i am only a prepaid user!!!

since then i switch to digi. i have regretted to switch to maxis from tm touch.

DIGI SUX BAD ON EVEN BASIC NEED LIKE GSM COVERAGE AND 3G for whole Malaysia... DIGI is for small kids...lame excuse when asked about this they said theu wanted to concentrate on iFaq 1st.

MAXIS SUX TOO....when they can have excessive data usage notification via SMS for they BB, why can't they have for their mobile internet...and they charge even after exceding the quota...wtf gave me Rm200 credit only when my monthly bill for voice + data is close to that amount..after scolding the CS several times, only they relent and increase my limit by RM100, no need to walk in register...you need to shout & increase your voice.

Now on Celcom business plan, dun have commitment fees, special package for certain companies. And their 3G is ok. Service is top notch.

Are you guys aware that Maxis charges $10 to unbar your line & charge an extra $10 for all lines associated to the main line such as your supplementary lines as well as your date lines [iPad & such]? So assuming you are having 2 supplementary lines + a 3g ipad with data plan, you will be charged $40 in all. Maxis never explained this to their customer.

I was a Digi user. I've heard my friend's iPhone data plan charging him more than RM200 each month thou he seldom go youtube.

I don't know why on earth I switched to Maxis last year and very regret.

Payment delayed a bit bar my phone. (Maxis is super efficient with this) Wanna pay using Maybank2u but I need to receive incoming text msg from M2U for the TAC number, but Maxis even barred my incoming sms !!! WTF x 1000.

Digi even I delayed 1 months also they just give some friendly reminders and the line is very stable is Seremban & KL.

I'm planning to switch back to Digi.
Seems like the DIGI SMART PLAN is a very good choice.

There is 1 easy way to get the barring charges waive.....provided you have the money to pay.

If you notice your call is being bar, then quickly make payment by online or other payment method. The CS would automatically waive it when they notice your payment date and barring date is the same.

Yes can. I did just that. smile.gif Just make sure:
1) Your line has no contract. If yes, you can opt to pay the penalty and cancel the contract (don't terminate the line).
2) Your line is not under corporate scheme. If yes, you need to move to individual account before porting.

It's true TS. I've been with all, you name it Digi, Maxis or even Celcom, through my experience Maxis is the worse, my line constantly being barred without notice almost once a month. shakehead.gif

It never happened to me when i'm with celcom or digi. Thinking of switching to Digi right after my contracts end which is in 3 month to come.

Maxis screwed BIG TIME!!!!

the thing with data, without a data package, they will charge 1kb=1cent(maxis), the rest i think about the same. to load a page of 1mb cost you rm10(assuming 1mb=1000kb).

for line barring, didnt maxis give you guys warning when 80% near credit limit? how about celcom and digi? yup super efficient on barring the line, and i do feel that they making profit but imposed those unbarring charges rm10 per line,imagine 6 line in one account, instant rm60 profit. maxis mad.gif mad.gif

to all i would like to ask, are the watchdog for android , data setting monitor for iphone and network traffic control for blackberry accurate enough to monitor data usage?

I used maxis for 10 years...recently those stupid customer service me sigh after I asked when my contract last days as I paid rm360 for 12 months unlimited bis data. I forgot which day on march, he say my contract expire last month. I told him I still under unlimted data coz not yet 12 months. Really ccb this cs...no experience at all...I asked him pass to him supervisor but keep say he correct n put me on hold for 5 mins.

Then got incoming call, so hang up n call back cs again. Then this cs better, explain to me my unlimited data is calculate by pro-rated.

My gf want to switch to maxis as I'm using maxis so call a bit expensive. Went to sunway pyramid service center last sat, just 1 counter open and wait for 2 hours. Until now still not port, and told my gf their system got error, my gf's data gone.
Seem like maxis not keen to do business. My gf call n told her digi off coz weekend. Ask my gf to call back mon to check. I ask her just cancel porting but she say wait until mon.

if still not port, I will switch to digi...fark u maxis...

guys, maxis is sister company of astro, who once said "If the customer didn't send back the form, it means they agree", the issue was raised in the Cabinet.

I always "go back" to digi since 1997. anyway, digi will strictly adhere to my request for monthly credit limit of RM100.

i have 5 months left with maxis(cuz i bought a Desire with that), and the first month i had almost Rm300! wtf, as a student, yes its a fk damn much. cant wait to change to Digi in the next month.

I can summarize this;

Maxis - Good coverage, even 3G is working at my kampung, and its reliable but money sucking shit!
Celcom - Not reliable, bored but good coverage. Obviously not stable.
Digi - No 3G coverage at my kampung, which is sucks but i'll get over it. aish..

am using 3 phones so i know well how each company does.

i feel this is hp problem , my gf was in digi ,and using x10 ,and the phone will charge automatically ,call to digi ,digi said my gf use hp online

then we check the online statement ,my gf hp 1 day online more then 500 times (each times few cent only,but imagibe 1 day 500 times each times 9 cent and continous for 1 month)


go to digi ,digi help reset phone ,set the setting so the phone wont automatic online .but still da same ,in the end ,my gf ask digi to deactivate the GPRS ,maybe this is because android have some bug

All Telco data line are the same..I was twice charged max of RM250 for exceeded my maxis data line. After numerous complains & one visit to their Sunway pyramid branch, they agreed to waive the charges..after I provided proof of my usage.

On Digi data plan, too, I was once exceeded the same usage & kena charge ~ Rm150...Well, They refused to waive..damn digi

Digi is somehow different that other telco. Other telco is being reasonable to waive the necessary..

For Digi, once you have sign the plan. They will ask you to either continue with the plan, or you cancel the plan but u still have to pay for all the charges(even the charges are not right)... I ask them to explain, they cannot explain also... just ask me to take it or leave it:)

Bro, might wanna consider 'censoring' the name and address for privacy reasons.

For the crazy high bill charges during roaming, I believe in DiGi there are some measures being done already, so you won't have to faint to 5 figure bills any more. Not too sure about other telcos.

But that doesn't mean we can take things for granted though. I believe many LYN members have already highlighted most of the precautions we should take when we go roaming with smartphones.

Sweetpuff, I agree with you that @MNet should consider to censor the name/address.

By the way, I am very pity to this person. As far as I know, he was upset that the bill shoot up so high and it took him at least 1 month to get issue resolved. During that 1 month time, he did not get any positive update from Digi on the progress. His line get barred but monthly charges (RM150) still imposed to his bill. So basically he is paying money but cannot use the services. When he called Digi, everyone just tell him that it is under investigation and no one give him the timeframe as in when will it get resolved. <This is what I always called "Bad Customer Experience>

To me, Digi always does thing in re-active rather than pro-active. If a little effort can be done such as <Good follow up/Courtesy>, I bet Digi can be the best Telco in M'sia. You may need to advice your top bosses to see how Telenor running their services in Europe. It has some different tho. Do feel free to let me know if you want me to share more about "Customer Centric"...

That wasn't maxis fault right? She should know better that whenever you go oversea, you have to take some precaution to disable data roaming. But if a person is too ignorant about this, it's not really an excuse to cry foul and blame the carrier.

last time my brother (he is my subline) somehow accidentally use 3g data, end up with 2k bill, and i have set my line barring limit at 150. i went over to Maxis centre fooked them kao, and i wont pay the bill because it's their system error did not barred at 150 and overcharge, i wont be paying and i am quitting maxis, few days later KL call me (i'm base in sarawak) and ask me to pay the bill, we talked till at a point they threaten me that they going to sue me if i dont pay, i said i am waiting for ur 'lawyer letter' so i can publish in newpaper(threaten back)... after a month (i didnt use maxis anymore) they send me a letter (oh shit? naaaaa) to waive all charges and this(that) month charges, nicely said 'you can continue to use your mobile as normal'.

then several months later, they call me to answer some questionaire -.- how good is their service, i simply answer just to entertain the nice lady voice over, then they rebate me rm40 for next 6 month... no bad. tongue.gif

u have to be fierce, the girl/guy over the phone also just only an employee follow the book, u screw them till cry, let the manager come out, screw him/her till cry also.

*offtopic: same case with my astro account, they 'free' some package thing to me, because my account got draw for it, never watch it anyway, called it ask, if it auto disconnect after the free trial over? "yes". after the free trial, they charge me, i call in again, told them i already talk to them previously, they say auto disconnect, so they should revert the bill (i use auto debit) then, the next bill come again, charge again! (2nd time) i go up to astro center, fook the counter lady till cry (kinda regret, she so pretty! should ask her number, she cry and ran off to the toilet*) i walk off, afternoon, the manager of my town astro center called me and apologies and will look into the matter), next 3 days, i everyday get call from the manager updating me... and my bill got rebate (2 months no need to pay, wooohoo).

u have to be fierce. ^^;

let me share you my exp with maxis. isubscribe maxis broadband for a year. after a year i decided to terminate and went to maxis centre kuantan to return my modem and clearing all outstanding bill. amazingly i still receive a bill 4 month after termination whichtotal of several hundred ringgit. that how shit is maxis
