ALOT of my frens faced this problem. Just sign up for Digi plan and you will not have problems being charged with excessive bandwidth usage as it is free usage on DiGi. Also, Digi is much faster compared to Maxis, I have compared with Maxis 3G loading the same site, youtube, etc. And it has still proven that Digi is twice or more faster than Maxis.
One thing I like to share with you guys also about Maxis service. I used Maxis fixed line back like 4 years ago. But as I have changed houses, I have terminated the fixed line. I am sure you guys know that we have to settle the bill before the line is being terminated right? So, yes I have settled the bill and had it cancelled off. So recently, when I wanted to sign up for iPhone 4, they said Maxis blacklisted me! I went to check with Maxis and they say I have an outstanding amount of RM111.52. Hey WTF is this? I cancelled it off and I still have outstanding amount with them? Ok I screw them up and down, the manager came over instead. After all those bullshit, he told me there's nothing we can do sir, just pay up. WTF?
I have a conclusion here, Maxis is a robber nowadays. They charge you for their mistakes!
hehe I was a long time subscriber of maxis postpay about 7 years, then about 1 year ago i terminated my line I went to the service center and told them I wanted to terminate and what ever is out standing I will pay there and then. a month later a bill came from maxis, epic RM 1.00.

W t H~ RM 1??? So I kinda ignore it, the bill kept coming for about 1 year.. lol
because i wanted to buy the Samsung Galaxy S, I went and pay the RM 1 and got the phone. LOL. A very common word/phrase they seem to use is "we cant do any thing this is our procedure" , " it is beyond our control ". damn annoying.
Since we are ranting about maxis, when I got my phone (SGS) I didnt notice there was a dead pixel, I brought back the phone and charged it. around 10 pm or so I was playing with it and notice there was a dead pixel, annoyed I went back to the maxis store at 9am. the fellow there said I have to claim warranty. The device was dead on arrival! I didnt even use it, it was in my hands for less than 24 hours!

I asked why, the sales person said cos they already link the IMEI to my account. w t f.. UNLINK it and relink new one la!

Lucky for them Samsung service was excellent. got my display swaped in 30mins. damn u maxis, i had to drive up and down to fix my issues.
They even called me to do survey, "would you recommend maxis to your friends and family?" my answer fk NO!
