The lower the number the better.

If ever your N8 failed to boot up (mean pressing the power button but no response), do as follow:
1. Verify is it a SW hang by long press the power button >7.5 seconds to force shutdown the N8. This is for SW hang scenario 2. Plug in the charger and wait for AT LEAST 15 minutes, then try to boot up. This is for depleted battery scenario 3. Plug in the USB (connect the phone through USB to the PC), wait for a minute then un-plug the USB (repeat a few times would help), then try to boot up. This is for weird "DEAD N8" scenario
From experience, the N8 can't be Hard Reset once it's failed to boot up normally or so call "DEAD N8".

1. Learn the curve, functions of the camera inside the N8, get to understand the scene mode, flash mode, exposure, white balance, light sensitivity, contrast. 2. Then, take alot of pictures with different light sensitivity, exposure or other settings. Compare the pictures. This is basically trial and error. 3. Next, take alot of pictures with different angle, positions and distance and scenery. Try with different setting as well. Compare the pictures, and choose the best among the best 4. Finally, share the best pictures with your friends.

For restoration, uninstall all the mods then install the "Camera Mod Restore.sis" to restore back the original camera setting.

Ok, sometime you have difficulties connecting 3G and wifi with your phone and you're opt to use desktop instead to download. Here are some tips of how to download apps using your desktop Download apps. from Ovi store using desktop browser
1. During conversation in a call, the hand free speaker suddenly when ON.(PENDING) - please ensure your face is not off the screen as this will trigger the approx sensor OFF and screen turn back active. - try to re-produce the error if it start to happen by NOT reboot or do anything, just direct make another call and try to simulate it back (report if you success to confirm the bug).
3. Default browser randomly crash and causing an auto soft reboot.(CONFIRMED) - when surfing mostly on those heavy site the browser will crash for no reason (confirm not cause by low resource). - try disable the "Java/ECMA script" might help on some heavy scripted pages.

Trying out manual setting to snap my gliders. A bit hard since cant use flash since it can hurt their eyes. But they are constantly moving so need to steal a perfect moment using their favourite treats... hehehe

The easy way, try the "scandinavian flick", you can google and see the video. Basically, before entering the corner, turn your car the other way then quickly turn hard towards the corner and counter steer while your car is drifting; Need some power on the car for this technique tough. When you first time play, the car provided is VERY FUN to drift. I can't remember is it same with the iOS version, the iOS version starting car seems more fun.

Been busy hacking my Legend, hahahaha... still waiting for N8 new firmware before I post a final review. Angry Birds is smoother on N8 than my Legend, therefore gotta root and see if it helps. Actually it does, not so lag anymore but still cannot challenge the totally smooth Birds in N8.

That one need manual shutter speed to do currently Nokia N8 default cam do not have such feature. Maybe future 3rd party like Fcam for Nokia N900 you can when it available for Nokia N8.

I still have trouple take pictures as sharp as you though... Most of them ended up way too bright. And I used vivid mode. Tried angle and sunlight. Still finding the best position. But thanks

it's NOT physical crack but rather the plastic molding mark... at first i also think it's a crack maybe by my too forceful opening the HDMI during the ranger program... but later observe deeply found it's the plastic mark and not a crack...

i read b4 fake n8 only 5MP camera. correct me if im wrong
the top/bottom plastic sure will scratch... the screen is ULTRA strong that's why i will never put on the sp... if anyone of you do follow my trend when ur screen is totally naked, wipe it clean and look through a strong lighting like the down light u will notice the N8 screen have a diagonal grid (very fine line criss cross in diamond shape)...

Note: when switch sim card to N900, the bubble sound didnt appear on the phone of the person im talking to, when switch sim card back to N8, the bubble sound appear again!!!!

The bubble sound that my gf experienced happen while she was calling her mother's IPhone. After that it'll happen randomly to all different phones. Not just mine. It happen to me while I was using 5800. My N8 never experienced before

Got any class 10 4GB/8GB? With the image detail that N8 produce & the movies it can play,trust me you'll run out of space soon. I barely have free space with my 32GB N900.

If your memory left less than 1GB does it feel laggy?
i don think the internal mass memory got any effect on lagging... it will lag only when u have alots of like photos (open with galery then it will a bit affected eh) of thousand of songs (then u browse using the coverflow might lag a bit too eh) but if only memory getting full i'm not sure but what have it to do with the lag?? like if my pc have 2TB drive getting full does my OS getting lag??
Got any class 10 4GB/8GB? With the image detail that N8 produce & the movies it can play,trust me you'll run out of space soon. I barely have free space with my 32GB N900.

3 years? Even rangers & those who pre-orders only got 2 years of warranty.
For 32GB I suggest you to go for class 6 or faster.Else you'll wait till your beard grow watching your phone copy files.
what i takut most would be the memory corruption... seen this happen on my 5800xm (upto fw v51) not sure the S^3 got this issue fixed or not... if not then i rather empty the sd slot as it's good for nothing if the memcard keep losing files on it's own...

maybe he buy extra 1 year extended warranty? don't know nokia provide this servide or not, i buy tv they got offer to sell warranty each year add another 100-200

RM325? I rather buy a pendrive & stick to the phone. With Nokia be grateful that you even have a single memory slot. Some new model E7 don't even come with extra memory slot.

hmmm.... watching movie direct kah?? the class4 only good upto 4Mb/sec data rate so the max movie streaming supported would be ~32 mbit/s loh.... normal movie sure ok... but i dont think HD content will run smooth...

Usually the dead phone caused by damaged NAND/ROM memory that store the OS. In N900 case there are 3 partition;root(OS),home(apps) & MyDocs(storage) root is a stored in single NAND memory while home & MyDocs is in eMMC In this case even if the OS partition is damaged it's still possible to save files from eMMC.

Of course, scratch resistant =/= scratch proof ....I don't really care about the front screen as I have SP.... but I was referring to the glass on the camera lens on my earlier post

yes it's not 100% scratch proof... protect it if u dare not to take the risk... i'm not using the sp because i "believe" i wont be too rough on my N8... same as 1 of my colleuge using the Motorola Milestone which come with gorilla glass, his phone also 100% naked not even with any pouch... and i just check with him the phone screen it's still crystal clear after >6 months usage...
so the lesson here would be the screen WON'T easily got scratches if u treat it properly...

Guys, I have read tonnes of review and here i am now, confused state. From the reviews, i can conclude that this is not the best phone, and neither a bad phone. I want to hear from the owners of N8.. Is Symbian 3 really that bad as they describe?? Is this phone only good for Camera? How slow it can get with multiple tasks?

that's NOT bug but it's inherit sinse S60v5 where all caplang images/video across ALL folder will clamp into the phto gallery... manyak sakit hati... i think that would be my next mod to correct it...

Same , it happened to me on a certain time but i transfered a 720p MV into my phone and it has the same problem , LOADING every 2 sec or more.

I just purchased the ANGRY Birds game from Ovi store. How do I save a copy of the game to my PC so that I can have a backup? What if I reset my Nokiua N8 one day? will I have to buy the game again?
same seller i got my new leather flip case... but this silicon case i have worry on the flash area leh... too fit liao and might coz the flash reflection...

for those that say or assume this photo got light leakage it isnt. Its the wallpaper have some brightness there. For those using Nokia N8 test it out. Never judge a book by its cover
