i can connect without internet connection woh... You got set it or not?
*
Hmm how to set it without connecting the net?

QUOTE(stanley85 @ Oct 25 2010, 09:33 PM)
it's not necessary to connect to internet
but if you wan to locate the satelite faster, then you may need A-GPS which needed to connect to the internet, but normally only cost a small amount like... few cent?
of course u can still search in offline mode, but it just it takes longer time to tracker your position
*
Hmm, how come those GPS devices don't need Internet to track faster unlike our HPs?

because those gps have a more powerful chip so they lock faster without a-gps. But even so powerful sometimes it will get effected by building, weather and etc

But on the phone a-gps give u near instant lock time.

on n8 u can now even use WIFI to lock to the gps like before u go out lock first then 2nd and 3rd time will be fast within the few hours

U dont need data plan to get faster lock time. Just set as always ask and let it lock for the first time then disallow it to retrieve using data. Charges will be about 10cent per lock

I use it many many times di Hope that helps

Using DiGi?
As far as I know only DiGi users can use dataplan without caring about the cap.
