yea but sli power will pull from second pcie connector which probably from another rails...i guess no problem
but single high amps gfx probably going to have problem.
either u tried hd6870 just to check your mobo not bias to nvidia and it got no compatibilty problem with hd6800 series
forgot to mention that my concern is still on the psu problem

owh so its difrent rails on difrent "cable" eh?

n yea the molex method ( whoa sweet underground band name alert lol ) dont work. still bsod on the very boot up. i got no such luck sigh

oo..yea maybe different rails on different cable
that molex thing dont work....i'm start running out of idea..

during "no driver" on win 7 n safemode my pc can use normally. surfing n normal desktop browsing. doesnt this eliminate the psu as suspect culprit?

Hi forumer, i'm new here.
i'm gonna buy new GC next week, an ATI HD5670.
just wanna ask, if my psu only got 350watt, will it be fine to use that HD5670?
since AMD website suggest to use 400watt psu or greater.
will it effect my new GC like overheating or something.

im thinking to cf my 4850...
but the down side...2nd cf mobo(x38/x48) + 2nd 4850..cost me more or less around RM400-500..

what will the performance outcome compare to current/latest single gc?

if the single gc(new or used) cost me around RM500+selling my 4850 ..i'd rather to buy that card..

Well. If you don't mind, topping up just RM100 gets you the HD6850 for RM599 . Better than two HD4850s under CrossfireX mode, and it runs on a 450W power supply too.

Add-on :

Since you have the Silverstone Strider 560W, you could run two HD6850s too .

yea Silverstone Strider 560W sure can cf but hd 4850 cf not worth it since 512 mb ram unless u got 1gb version

safe mode running on basic driver just needed to bootup
so it possible that ati+ intel mb driver causing conflict when running in normal mode

What the hell with the 1GB Version of Radeon HD4850 is worth to CFX?
Radeon HD4850 is too slow to utilize 1GB of VRAM. 1GB vs 512MB of Radeon HD4850 only about 1-2% performance difference.

Radeon HD6850/6870 is worth to do CFX definitely!

Sometime, I wonder why people said 1GB version is better in higher resolution. LOL. Yes, better, 1-2%.
FYI, next time, read GPU performance by reading their benchmark posted on many websites on the internet. Ignore those GDDR, Bandwidth, Buswidth, VRAM and blah blah. They're for marketing.
What we want is their performance not their name.

don't bother bro,sell your current HD4850 and get a GTX460 1GB OC/HD6870.Both are around the same price.

actually i did try 1gb version of my friend gfx
it more faster than my previous hd4850
it feel more smooth on high res ..
maybe because the game got some game mod that require more vram

Yea, if the games like more VRAM.
But, if the games just need 512MB, then, it'll be pointless to have 1GB of VRAM on a slow GPU.

You can check out the benchmark between 1GB and 512MB Versions of Radeon HD4850(google around).
Performance difference are damn little.
