QUOTE(naimadam @ Oct 25 2010, 07:51 PM) the fastest i have tested is the voodoo lagfix, yeah..i've check the rom..quite interesting to try out but im on tayutama's for 3 days now..installed voodoo5 before with it but still got some lag...and it drains battery very fast osooo. Yesterday i disable it and installed OCLF and the performance are better than the voodoo5. The reason is, i plugged out the charger on 11pm last night and until 9.30am today it just drain my battery for 1% only! is that cool or not! but im currently on Doc_Kalpik Froyo ROM V5 with NO-RFS advanced EXT4 Universal Lag fix which almost as fast as voodoo but more function. i recommend you to check the ROM, here the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=817703 Quardrant on OCLF might be higher but the lag is still there. anyway, for tayutama's rom user here..i think u might have problem with bad reception right??...do we need to flash a diff modem file to make it right? i dunno if this is right or wrong, what is controlling the antenna? i mean the hardware for it..if anybody can elobrate this it will be much appreciated.. |

I am using Doc_Kalpik V5.1f. It's been stable and responsive so far. Got couple of force closes during first few reboot, but it's all gone now. I am comfortable with it.

QUOTE(mengsuan @ Oct 25 2010, 06:38 PM) I returned to stock kernel. Power usage become normal again. Running time is back to normal. Definitely 50% and lower. Yep, that's my experience as well. Voodoo is built off the open source kernel released by Google. Samsung has done lots of customizations on top of this kernel that improve battery life tremendously (on the Galaxy but that isn't saying much). I'm on the JM8+Voodoo4 kernel and it's been going ok so far.On Voodoo 4 lagfix+colour fix, the running time is >95%. I'll try Voodoo 4 lagfix only later tonight. QUOTE(hihihehe @ Oct 25 2010, 06:38 PM) from twitter: As much as I'd like to believe this, SamFirmware is not Samsung official and hence, it's no more than an unsubstantiated rumour at this point. I'll believe it when I see it. The Galaxy S and all its problems (lag, GPS, mysterious power drains, half assed Froyo implementation) and Samsung's inability to acknowledge much less fix them has seriously made me think twice about owning any future Samsung products. SamFirmware ''Samsung: Making better camera software and fixing lag problems (Galaxy S) '' let's see how true it is |

Arghhhh! Maxis gives people so much trouble! My line got barred again.
I've only used the phone for a week. My data charges for the first 2 days was not under data plan and they charged me over 1k for it, suspecting me of using 230MB+? This is unbelievable! Hey guys, in v5, there are a few people with overcharged bills from Maxis right? (emino and others...) How do you guys solve this? And did Maxis overcharge again? I am going to Maxis centre to settle this. |

Even with a data plan of 1.5Gb they charged me so high because i over used by around 100Mb, was charged additional RM200. If your not under any contract with Maxis, i suggest move to Digi, their data plan is unlimited!! I've only used the phone for a week. My data charges for the first 2 days was not under data plan and they charged me over 1k for it, suspecting me of using 230MB+? This is unbelievable! The area where i am staying have been having 3G Network issues for the past week, called them and they say they are trying to resolve the issue, i mean can i get some kinda rebate for this issue they are having? |
