Hi, there. Noob question here.
The first time I went for the promotion booth of SGS, the promoter showed me an apps (Which I forgot the name). It works like when you take photo with clean signboard of a shop, eg Maxis. The apps will analyse the photo and try to search the info online. Besides, the promoter also told me that an apps can actually tell us the merchandised store in a shopping complex when we take photo outside of the building, eg KLCC. it will show starbuck in the building and on which floor is it located. However, I'm not sure is it the same apps as the one I mentioned before this.
Is the apps called augmented reality? Can we find it in Marketplace?

It's called Layar. It's built into the phone. No need to download.

layar is one app that can do that
goggle (yes it goggle, made from google), is another app that can do the same thing

may i know what are the issues with JPK....so far nothing wrong for me

both cannot do the same thing
goggles just identify the image that you want to scan and get back the search results
layar is to identify the places around you with the camera

Excellent. z4mod wiped out my personal data. Arrgh.

Since it's already wiped, should I have used Froyo by now?

It's not ready yet.

My recovery menu doesn't want to work now. It returns invalid argument and reboot, not allowing me to revert to RFS or root. Looks like I need a reflash.

No personal data will be saved in every reboot. In every phone restart, I get a phone without contacts. Good for demo purpose.

While the launch of Sansung Galaxy Tab completed with froyo......Aih.....

I kena this a number of days back. When I posted my experience and attached the z4mod.log file, RyanZA could only say, hmm, it should not do that.

Anyway, I have reflashed my phone to fresh JPM, rooted it using the 1.2 CF Root kit, and have applied the so-called optimized kernel. Testing now without any lagfix - first thing I noticed was more available RAM (~329MB).

Without lagfix? How is the battery life and lag experience?

Sigh, you used Odin to flash JPM? I actually prefer KIES for Eclair to Froyo conversion because it has the right PIT file to use. Sadly JPM is pulled off KIES already.

I just flashed about 30 mins back. Will need to use for a number of days first before I can be sure about lag and battery. Am restoring apps/data with Titanium Backup now.

Added on October 26, 2010, 1:52 pmYes, I used ODIN with 512 pit file (repartition checked) and flashed down to Eclair JM9 first. Then used ODIN with 803 pit file (repartition unchecked) and flashed up again to JPM. Works everytime for me.

Guys,anyone here tried out darky's raw steel and JPM Froyo out there?which is the better?now i have got force close issues=.= gps lock slower then jm7...

anyone knows how to check and clean personal data section in taskmanager?
I tried deleting stuff from files folder but that didn't effect the personal data section.

Not sure about JG4, but original JPM ram size is 304MB, if I remember correctly.

Gawd, this phone is unusable without a lagfix. Am gonna lagfix it now..
