i've already received a call from dell on monday saying that my laptop will be delivered on wednesday.. i think the order status on the webpage isn't real. maybe some glitch caused the E.D.D to change.

dual channel onli works if u have a pair of same brand same model ram installed together....the basic concept is that it will increase our lappy performance......for advanced info really nid pro.....

No special RAMs required for dual channel to work.
Just need to fill up a pair of RAM slot with any RAM then it will work as normal.

As laptop mostly have only a pair of RAM slot, filling that up means u get dual channel by default.

For PC, motherboards normally have at least 2 pair of RAM slots. (Usually each pair is colour coded for easy recognization)
So, they need at least one pair of RAM for dual channel.

e.g. S? - Slot?, F - filled, X - unfilled
S1{A} S2{B} S3{A} S4{B}
1. F X F X
2. F F F F
3. F X X X
4. F F X X
5. F F F X
6. F X F F

Only 1 and 2 are in dual channel config. (3 to 6 are not)
