The hardware is impressive Core i5 460, Nvidia Optimus GT420M, 4GB DDR3, 500GB HDD, JBL Speakers + Subwoofer Total 20W!!!

How come it doesn't have the elegance of the previous SXPS? it looks like an Inspiron >.<

Also note the pricing, lower than SXPS16. Almost similar to Studio 15. Is it a good thing? Really curious about the JBL subwoofer cos usually only available at >rm3000~4000 system.

You can't say the price is lower.

The price you mentioned is for GT420M and i5-460M only.

This is Before GT435M + i7, Backlit Keyboard, Bluetooth, Full HD screen.

Those features are Already included in Studio XPS 16.

But for basic gamer GT420M is good enough, my 4741G using that GPU, very satisfied, plus the price with JBL subwoofer, no other competitors can match it.

Let me tell you something I've used JBL Subwoofer on a laptop it is terribly soft and of poor quality. One certainly does not need to be charged a huge amount for it.

Check the US price of a Studio XPS 16, or an Asus G53JW, or a MBP, and think again.

+1.... it looks rather ugly for an XPS
The Inspiron-like hinges definitely cannot support a monitor size of 15 inches... sure will wobble 1
But the specs are good~

Just like how the SXPS16 keyboard is better looking than that of the Qosmio F60

well, the hinge is similar to the one on my Asus N81V, though mine is way bigger than XPS...

i thought now the trend is let the monitor to sink a little for easier viewing???

honestly, the design is really like the old Asus N series...

You want numpad get XPS 17 But no FullHD B+RGLED

i think i would want XPS17 for GTS445M...

that's gonna kill off AW m15x...

Well, Alienware has 19200x1200 vs 1600x900 of XPS 17.
XPS 17 has GT445M 3GB but not GDDR5/GDDR3.

Nowadays the new products coming out have similar price tag in Malaysia as well in case you haven't noticed.. Look at the recent M101Z... Price tag in Malaysia is similar to USA and other parts of the world is selling it at least RM2k+.. Another one is the new MacBook Air.... USD 999, Malaysia selling it for RM3299... That's almost direct conversion already... G series is a whole diff story I guess.. Many factors affecting it also..
