QUOTE(Warga_Negara @ Oct 10 2013, 08:21 AM) I believe Yes. Unless there is a doctor in this forum that can verify my "assumption". This assumption i can conclude based on the Sunway Receipt and Tung Shin receipt... I always see "Medical Supplies", but the amount is small. Below RM 20. i see...okok..tq...my fren said last time when her hubby go paid for the fee thy also donoe..after went back den only check he receipt and noticed that lo...

Hi All, A first time mummy here with currently 20weeks old pregnant...I'm in a depressing mode as I had an argument with my husband on whether to deliver in private or gov (he's opting for private) but cost wise, I think not all gov hosp. has bad review as I've read here, what I worry most is what if something goes wrong/complication might happen during labour, then might end up with higher cost to pay up with..till now haven't choose a hosp to plan to deliver besides, he's staying in penang and i'm working in KL, is it ok to still travel when you're about to due that time? I plan to give birth here in KL cos I can't be taking few weeks leave in advance to jus go PG and wait for my baby to deliver I heard that UMMC was quite good, any recommendations? So confused and blur on what to do~

I not sure about HUM but do go to Putrajaya as I heard a lot of foreigner get birth there. depend on your condition, some of the Dr. will give you one week off on your 39 weeks. but I think it will be too burden for you to travel 4~5 hours trip during that time. Are you a local and staying with your family in KL? if your family in KL I think I better birth at KL as your mum able to take care you and your baby during the confinement month.

Hospital Name: Sunway Medical Centre Normal Delivery: N/A Vacuum: N/A Cesarean: RM9K (during public holiday, included epidural & 3 days single room charge) Baby Included: RM1.2K total amt bill (during public holiday) O&G Specialist: Dr. Lim Lei Jun (Female Doc)
Comments: Overall good except price is slightly high due to delivered during Hari Raya. Doctors visit is triple after office hour. Say normal working hour, per consultation fee is Rm100, then after working hour would be RM300. Which consultation is checking if you're alright, is everything well. Checking incision and medical report. This whole consultation process take less than 15mins. But nurses are caring, as well taken good care of the baby. Supportive of breastfeeding too. Picture of the room: (if any)

So confused and blur on what to do~ Hi, I went to UMMC for check up when i was about 35 weeks.. quite late tho but i also have thoughts like u.. so far had 2 check ups there.. they have separate building for maternity & paedeatrics & wards there.. the parking building is also connected to it so it's kinda convenient.. the building is new & clean.. nurses are friendly & helpful.. it's not very crowded but have to be there at 8am for appointments.. doctors will be random each appointment unless u requested.. doctors in labour wards will be depend on who's on duty at emergency hr.. d nurse told me d labour room has beds of 10... while staying ward is bed of 4... also husband is not allowed in the labour room.. I am referred to Sunway medical centre by my own private clinic doctor.. & havin 2nd option now to UMMC is actually better since i also worry got complication..

1) Nurse quite helpful in teaching everything from breastfeeding to wrapping the baby... 2) Recommend Breastfeed first priorty 3) Food just so-so
Con - 1) when call for nurse need to press the button few times then only come, at least twice. After pressing need to wait at least 10 to 15mins to come.

My wife deliver our first babies which is twins in Putrajaya hospital. I have to say they are bloody good. A lot of private hospital like Sunday or Columbia cannot even match them. The price is only 1/3 of private hospital. Just one reminder every doctors in Malaysia are train in government hospital before they are allow to practice privately. Do consider.

QUOTE(alexng2208 @ Nov 4 2013, 10:39 AM) but its not easy to get registered into putrajaya hospital right? and we need to pay upfront 3k or 5k? Is just one time trouble. You need to go the local government clinic to register first. Then once you have the record you can request where you want to deliver. You only pay 3k deposit when you admit to hospital during deliver day. Normally the cost is less than 3k for c-sec. My wife opt for c-sec and total cost is 2.8k. You will stay in 1 bed room with full facility like fridge, TV, sofa bed

You need to go to putrajaya at least few months before delivery. Register yourself there and pick the doctor you want. The doctor will ask you to do monthly check up in putrajaya.

The doctor will ask you to do monthly check up in putrajaya. If I am not mistaken, this is under FPP (Full Paying Patient) scheme right? It is only available in Hospital Putrajaya and Hospital Selayang. But from reviews, it seems Putrajaya's one has the best offer.
