QUOTE(McF7y @ Jul 18 2017, 12:36 PM) Hi all, under which doctor? My wife and I tried Columbia PJ for our third daughter and we are very well pleased with their services. Basic Delivery Package was RM3,300. After we added the induction, epidural and baby costs we ended up paying RM6K+ Sorry I cannot remember the exact details, but we did not pay more than RM7K that's for sure. Epidural itself was RM1K + I believe. We had originally gone to SJMC for the first few check-ups but realised that they increased their delivery package from RM5K (back in 2013 when we had our second daughter) to RM7.5K for basic delivery package! It was way out of our budget and thankfully we came across Columbia PJ. Ample parking, nurses and doctors at your service. Administration and registration staff were very helpful. I guess it is still new (about 2 years+ now) so not that busy yet. Hope this brief 'review' helps! |

Selayang Hospital (FPP)
Induce delivery - failed (24 hours) Emergency cesarean - i don't know how you categorize as one? Basically at 10PM the doctor advise not to wait and booked a operating room. Stay 3 nights (1 night single bed, 2 nights in 2 bedder) Epidural used Slightly over 5k, almost 700 been medication after discharge. The operation itself was around 2.6k Going back? Maybe, maybe not. Dr Yu was good but some of the nurses were just plain rude. This post has been edited by bearbear: Aug 1 2017, 11:43 AM |

QUOTE(seikoho1 @ Aug 18 2017, 09:52 AM) huh...what u mean weekdays and normal working hours only? Working days and normal working hours is the lowest rate in private hospital which will cause you lesser for total bill. omg..so expensive edi.. btw, u know any insurance got cover medical etc for delivery? During weekend, public holiday the rate will be higher because its consider OT for the hospital staff thus will cause more in your total bill. The price normally depend on the Dr's experience/glamor and its very subjective. Called hospital few time to clarify on this but all I get is vague information. Keep pushing them to tell the amount then they start to tell me how they apply the rates. Best is to talk direct to your Dr and plan time to deliver, unless emergency..bufff your bill will be sky rocket. Erk I don't think medical personal insurance cover for maternity unless company's insurance (correct me if im wrong) This post has been edited by say_xtr: Aug 18 2017, 10:12 AM |

similar experience, you should have your buku merah from KK. for my wife at Selayang FPP, they only start seeing you from 7th month pregnant onwards & on monthly basis as the doctors are too busy to see you on weekly / every 2 weeks. I booked her in when she was 2 or 3 months pregnant.
for convenience we went to private clinic for regular check up, kind of stop KK too after 2 or 3 visits as it makes my wife very tired and stressful. They can be suspicious with very little thing (can be good or bad) but for me it is too stressful for my wife so i told KK we will go to private clinic. If you have problem (sugar level, etc) the KK expect you to come back like daily basis and you have to queue / wait every day. quite mad IMHO and put on so much stress. My wife sugar lvl was a little high towards the end and private doctors were very assuring, even Selayang FPP doctor said it is common to be a little high and the normal urine test may not be 100% unless you do the actual full test which require fasting. The doctors says it is not a worry and just take care of your sugar intake but the KK nurses want to check everything and present the case as if it is damn dangerous.
