I understand the concept of eating out but you make it sounds as if McD is the best thing since sliced bread,as if without it you can't have enough energy to train or get a good body.

I don't care what you look like,I have more important things to think about,Seriously.

Btw in real life people eat McD cause its convenient, hence fast food literally.

I just don't get whats your "thing" with McD,why not KFC?

Bro I'm gonna Shisha at devi's around 10. You up for it?

guys i dono this is the right place to ask

do u guys have met problems like ur fren/gf telling u ur muscle too big and geli?

i've started to see some results but there is a girl i like actually telling me that my muscles too big and geli, but to me i tihnk it is still not big enough.

cause recently in fb i actually updated my profile pic of me posing with my bicep >.> then she told my fren that i am too big and geli, and just now she told me the same thing again!

my dilemma is, i like this girl, should i stop to grow bigger muscle and just maintain?

pics for reference, sry guys, i am not showing off, pardon me if i do sound like i hav that intention

It's time to cut. Ask Terry for advice. Don't make the mistake of bulking too aggressively

Deadlift 8 sets ,15 reps, getting heavy weight and reduce reps until 5 reps

I NEED ADVISE PLEASE ! ADVISE ADVISE ADVISE !
I so desperately want to bring up the lagging part
my back looks like flat
*
Nobody ever brought a lagging bodypart up training it more frequently. You hammer the hell out of it as hard as you can then let it recover.

QUOTE(shiloong7081 @ Jan 12 2011, 07:51 PM)
Tried Pendlay rows ? i kinda like them, i feel that it doesn't stress the lower back that much compared to normal barbell rows
*
Pendlays are crap. Seriously.

Why are they crap ? I find it easier to maintain a strict form with pendlays, it's hard , at least for me, to maintain the same angle throughout conventional barbell rows.

You don't have TUT. You let it drop then pick it up again. Useless from a hypertrophy pov

Part of back workout:-
Deadlift
135lbs x 15
225lbs x 15
315 lbs x 15
405lbs x 8

Can't seem to do singles anymore ever since my lower back surgery so I go pretty light on this exercise nowadays and focus on muscle contraction.

Damn Darkie.. speechless la bro.. Giler!!!

No la bro, I could've done a lot more if I hadn't gone through the lower back surgery. My 1 rep max days are behind me now. 8 is the minimum I go. In retrospect, I don't know if it was insufficient warm up schemes or attempted to lift a new PR for the third time after hitting it that day. One thing for sure, deadlifts will never be the first exercise in my back repertoire (mostly last or second last).

Surgery was 2 years ago I think. Why do you think I'm going light for DL's nowadays? Lol. Going heavy will kill me.

Light la LV. Lol. Idiot Bob had to hit my butt while i was lifting. Was wondering who the heck was that.

QUOTE(theCrab @ Jan 18 2011, 06:19 PM)
madness
how you get injured in your lower back actually ? during a workout?
another ques, dont understand you put the deadlift as last workout.
*
My max was 525lbs on 1RM. I successfully pulled once, twice, then my ego told me to try a third time for a video. I felt 2 pops. Lol. And i knew that was it. Bye bye lower back.
As for the deadlift as the second last or last in the back workout, you want mass, you're a bodybuilder. You go heavy with reps of just 3-5 you don't do jackshit for your muscles at all, you're just working the joints. And you'll be too tired to perform at optimal capacity on the other back exercises cos you've taxed yourself with the deadlift. Even Dorian Yates in most of his seminars advocate deadlifting as the last part of back workouts with high reps and focusing on contraction.

Sweet, gona change my back routine.

http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0KF...21/ai_98542691/

so dark, from the dl set and reps tat u did, u actually starting from high reps and the last set went to the max reps, would it be better if we start from like 10 reps for the first two then progress to 15 reps and the last one we max it out?
*
Heh... do you know why i got injured? The main reason? Because I tried following a fixed program on deadlifting. The current Mr KL I'm training with is in turn being trained by a Chinese guy who knows his stuff. He drills it in, never count the reps and sets. Go by feel, which in turn is the same thing which Terry has always been advocating. Some exercises can go as high as 8 sets or as low as 3 sets, or even 2. The moment you count your sets and reps, you've already trained to fail, your mindset tells yourself to fail at a targeted rep range. One thing though, we never keep our reps below 6, ever.

QUOTE(Neek @ Jan 19 2011, 01:47 PM)
Could u move after the 2 pops? or did u had to be carried out of the gym?
bummer man. were u wearing a belt back then?
not bad recovery from injury, to be able to still pull about 80% of last max for that many reps after surgery.
*
I could still move, though it felt numb. Then next day when I did so much as cough or sneeze i would just collapse on the ground in pain. Lol. Actually in terms of sheer volume I'm pulling a lot more but in terms of max lifts, I can't be bothered about that.

this is sweet advice.
thx.
i would love to hv a chance to train with u big guyz.
i reckon a small guy like me has plenty to learn from u guyz
*
Lol we do all sorts of funny shit in the gym. Like the flat barbell bench press in order to fool ourselves into thinking it's lighter we kept stacking 25 lbs plates instead of 45. We train at True Fitness everyday from Monday to Fri 6.45pm onwards. Always there without fail though I'll miss a few sessions here and there if I'm on call at the hospital on a particular day.

QUOTE(Neek @ Feb 7 2011, 01:14 PM)
Shorts usually not slim fit isnt it. should be no prob. the main prob shd be pants.
seed/padini likes to have slim fit slacks so they usually dont fit.
usually for bigger thigh space, u need pants that have pleats as they have smaller waists and bigger space at thighs.
but personally pleats are not to my liking.
so i either tailor make pants, find suitable brands out there.
so far the only one i found to fit is Savile Row Company. limited flat front pants that can still seem to fit for now.
of course, cant fit as well as tailored pants but its ok for everyday work pants.

As for jeans, fortunately i can still wear them for now. but none of that slim fit crap. only straight/relaxed cuts
having trouble stuffing stuff into my pockets tho...wallet and phone an keys tend to stick out of the pants shape.
its not too late. mens peak age is supposedly 30. u havent even past that. its not too late.
28 isnt that old.
like janson said, why only abs?
there is a 6-pack abs thread somewhere in this section... go find it and read it/watch the video...
edit:
and Happy Chinese New Year to all!!! biggrin.gif

Heh I'm 32 and considered young for the sport of bodybuilding. You peak at late 30's to early 40's so it's never too late to start. Heck women mistaken me for early 20's still.

thx mikey.

btw, i believe squats on smith machine not advisable...can the guyz advise me or tell me which variation of squat is ok on smith machine?
*
You can do squats on a smith machine. If you say it's not advisable it means the ifbb pros like wong hong and Dorian yates were all wrong.
