Do u mean that it is possible not to share our payslips during interview session? If once employed, do we have to furnish it too if the company insisted?
*
Yes, you have the right to say that you are not comfortable in sharing your payslip. However, usually HR uses the payslip to determine if the current pay you say you are earning is true and also use it as a gauge of how much salary to offer you.

There are people who argue you should be paid based on the job you are hired for so whatever you were paid before doesn't matter therefore no need to give your payslip.

The company cannot force your to reveal your previous payslip, they only can request it. However, you might also be viewed as a 'bad' candidate for refusing to show your payslip and might lose the job offer.

So whether you want to show or not is up to you provided you are clear on the potential consequences of your actions.

Haha, you are allowed to show your own payslip. Whether you want to or not is another set of questions.

But on the payslip it does says P&C. Would I get into trouble for handling it out? Can't I just give them my current employer phone number then they can call up to confirm everything I said???

Will this lower my odd of getting the job??

Nope, you won't get into trouble. It is private and confidential to the people you choose to show to, but you are within the means to show it. I'm not sure if letting your current employer know you are actively seeking another job is a good idea, but you can certainly offer that option.

Will it lower you chances? It is difficult to say. I'm tempted to say no, because of my personal experiences but I can't say that it won't lower it. Some people will view it as a negative point, some will not view it as something negative. You just have to convince them why you are not comfortable in sharing your payslip and hope they see reason to it.

I guess feeling nervous during interviews is a norm. I always tell myself to treat them as 'a new fren'. Dat way, I'll not be so tensed. All the best to you ya!
I worked for a company for 4 years, underpaid too. With the yearly increment, I was still underpaid in the market for that managerial role but I took it as a learning journey for me to climb up the career ladder.  blush.gif
Is that ur first baby? If so, I guess it's fine to tell them that you were focused on the pregnancy during that time. However, some might take it as that you were unable to handle both working and pregnancy at the same time and you might lose scores here.

Normally, they will ask you this as the final question.

"What is your strength and what you can do for the company?"

What do you mean? Your supervisor is asking if you know how to do presentations? Your supervisor wants you to make a presentation why you should be promoted?

Hi guys,

Last time I went interview at this small company.

First of all, they asked me to explain about myself. So I explain about myself, education and working experiences.

And then after that, the woman that interview me asked me to tell about my family backgrounds, what are they doing etc, and also expect me to explain my attitude when I'm with my family, with my friends etc.

Is it ethical to ask these questions? I don't feel like it's necessary for them to ask these questions.

And the most shocking part, they ask whether I have GF or not? I'm speechless when she asked me that kind of question.

It is not ethical and serves no purpose in an job interview. You have the right not to answer those questions. Unfortunately, most of the employees lack the courage to speak up against these sort of questions due to various circumstances.

I feel uncomfortable when they asked about my parents occupation and where they work. I feel like it's unneccasary for them to ask that kind of questions.

It's those stupid "good parents raise good child" thinking. It serves no purpose in assessing a person and furthermore, it breaches your privacy rights. But, they get away with it, because many candidates want the job or are afraid voicing out is looked upon negatively.

I'm at a stage of my career where I can ask why is that question being asked and that I am not comfortable in discussing areas unrelated to my work competencies.
