Hi,

You never tell the company what is your expected salary.  You let the company to make the first offer.  In any type of negotiation, whoever make the first offer loses..

Not an always case. I've told them this is what i want and i have proven to them that i can do the job with the right atitude. To my suprise, they even offered me more than what i have asked. The HR ppl know how to evaluate the value of someone. Of course, they (MNCs) dont mind paying extra if the person can do the job and has the right atitude. thumbup.gif

For E & E companies, be prepared for tests which includes:
a)Everything bout Zener diodes
b)Superheterodyne if the position is related to audio
c)Transistors (BJT, MOSFET, JFET bla bla) - memorize the basic formulas
d)Kirchoff voltage law, current law

Electrical and Electronic Engineering filed is very diversed, the questions to be asked during interview very depends what kind of skillsets and knowledge the position needs.

For example, if go to Intel/Altera or any company doing digital products, they will ask VLSI CMOS circuit design, VHDL, logic gates like flip-flops.

If go to companies doing RF/communication, questions will be RF/MW theory, analogue circuits like BJT and FET, and communication theory for analoue and digital.

If for fresh graduate, your final year project will be the focus of the interview.

So, in short, just study the job responsibilities and requirements and study the theory based on that.

Hi dreamer,

tx for ur reply.
i often stumbled when the interviewer ask me question like...
"why do u wanna leave ur current company?"

what should i answer?
be honest? saying something like "looking for a good pay? current company not doing very well?"
or "want a new challenge?/want to try now things?/looking for career advancement?"

Hi,

This is actually a very tough trick question. The trick of answering of this question is remember the golden rule: "Never say bad thing about your previous or current employer."

Some interviewer will bait you into saying bad thing about your employer but you should always stopped it. The reason is you do nto do that because

1) That is not professional

2) If you do that, the interviewer will believe that you may do this to them also in the future so you will not be hired..

So, something neutral like "I am seeking new challenge" works a lot better..

Now, what if the interviewer say something like "I heard that your compnay is going to have layoff or it is going out of business", how will you respond??

I was really asked this question in one of my recent interviews, as you told me, my answer to them is "There is such a rumour, but I don't know much about it".

Hi,

Another way to respond is "No comment". Or, I do not comment on rumour..

You can learn some trick from how politician handle embarrasing questions gracefully...

What if we dont have a really good reason to leave current company other than getting a better pay?
Doesnt "seeking new challenge etc..." sounds BS to the interviewer?

Hi,

So what?? The interviewer is asking a question where someone with professional integrity will not answer honestly?? Only frehies will do this. You have your privacy?? Why should you disclose everything about yourself. Ditto, if you ask the interviewer how well is the company he/she working in now treating him/her, will you expect to get an honest answer?? If you do, that means the interviewe is not professional.. For example, if a stranger on a street ask you how much money do you have and what is your salary?? Do you answer?? If a man ask a woman about her age, is she supposed to answer???

That are rules and protocols on business working life. For example, if you go to store to buy a car, if you ask what is the actial dealer cost of the car, do you expect get the real answer from car salesman??
