Well, grendel prime, you are much welcomed. We are glad to see new members in the Warhammer:DOW(WA) community. I think the problem youre having with the patching is because some of the mods require you to modify certain default settings in you DOW installation folder before applying. Either that or the mod youre trying to apply is only meant for a certain patch version.

killing 3000???. You must be playing defensive first then offensive. Try changing your strat to more offensive first and you'll really have a battle you enjoy as you tend to fight and tech to bring your big units out.

I believe the first chant "Sanity is for the weak" means that to unlock true power one must lose their need for order in life. So hence mad men can be provoke to do truly horrible deeds.

As for the next chant " it been tho a 1000 miles cry out in pain". i believe its a 1000 minds and not miles that is being said. This is where chaos drowns your mind with visions of evil things.


If youre playing SM and fighting an IG player with grenades, all you can do is dance the squad they are currently shooting and use another to melee them. Well thats my 2cents worth.

whatever you do, just make sure command squads + any attached squads are killed 1st... Execution, Fanatism, Strip Soul and Arc Lightning are extremely dangerous to groud troops/commander units...

try to prevent them from turtling... some say the terms of 'turtle' in IG means they tech fast + amass resources fast. finding a key to defeat that purpose is the key to defeating the IG...

and for SM, some of the cheapest way to counter grenadiers are ASMs, jump to them and start the IG butchering fun... but i dont really bother to use them when i started equipping SM with rockets

Have you guys tried the chaos raptors? their pistols can kill off any commander unit in a short time, LOL!
Place them in the blue stance (i forgot what it is) and bolt pistol the enemy commander, u gotta try it to believe it.

it's more a bug really. 12-18 damage from their little pistols but killing a commander?
those of you playing online vs pros ought to know this.

Ah Darn i remember playing an Assasination game it was a Mirror Sm match where i just mass marine i FF is FC and when he was around the red bar i send my FC out chase him and finish him off with my FC pistol. very fast.. less than 5 min i won the game'

I just install this expansion today. The game lag like crazy... any tips for smoother game play? my system spec: athlonxp2200+, radeon9600, 1gig ram.
If my hardware not up to par.... which one should i upgrade?

Yeah Raptor pistol dmg and dmg toward building is to high, dont worry is quite easy to counter.

What i have a problem with is SM vs IG. SM life is very hard now.

Tier 1
now with the lack of heavy bolters SM is weak agaisnt guardmen superior range. ASM would help but then priest is unjustify and most IG player would just dance around and with sneer number with cross firing ur ASM is toast.

Tier 2
Tier 2 is also crazy... Dreads would provide some relieve but it will soon be over once sentinels come. Pushing with troops is also a deathwish as they would die from Basiliks.

Tier 3
Early Tier 3 would still be weak but Termies would help agaisnt karskrin guard and orgrn. Only late tier3 the preds and landraider would only be useful as Preds will khock off every leman russ and concetrated blast will kill the land raider.

In summary SM is a masive disadvantage at tier 1,2 and early 3 which Sm is force to turtle to late tier3 which is most probly to late as sentinels would rape the turrets and earth shaker would kill every infatry on cover... I think Guardsmen and Basiliks is way to OP. Also dont even think of using flamers as Comissars would make their morale unbroken forever.

I think the key here is to starve the IG of resources. Kill off their SPs. Seems to work for me. SM now has to start playing a little more aggresive.
