anyway, SMM is currently milking it's cash cow but it's not something for the long run. it wont last and i hope that DoW can last. and for tat....
i'm planning to have a DoW: Winter Assault Tournament sometime early November. but the prize money won't be big, prolly in hundred only. I'd like to get feedback from everyone on these:
venue: FTZ or Clutch?
time: morning can ah?
game version: DC or WA? (i'd say WZ for early November)
registration fee: RM 30 (it's pricey but i got something in it for u guys!)
maps: gimme 4
Solo/Team: ?
prizes: 500/300/100 enuff for a start?
additional comments: ?

I believe the success of this community is due to members like Redeye, Johnnycp, Waba and many others that dont always post but actively promote DOW to others in the real world. This community will still go on, since relic is actively supporting the DOW community online. As long as we have dev that also listens to the community and also does good things for it, there will always be players for DOW.
Tourneys will serve its purpose of keeping this game alive in the local countries. Tourneys help in increasing the numbers of players in the game and that is also a very important acpect.
Well for me, i will always be here to support this game as i believe this game has paved the way for our RTS games should be played. DOW has acknowledged that there are RTS gamers out there that want their games to be addictive and extremely dedicated to strategic gameplay.
This game will only see its end, if the devs stop to support the game with patches and improvements to it. Thats my 2 cents worth.
Kong, i will be sending you an email on that queries of yours. you can count on it.. i would like the others here to also do the same. Kong, one of the reasons this thread has also survived is because of you being around here and supporting the community. Thanks dude. We appreciate it.

Well, we are all here to improve DOW. I think in a way we are the Malaysian Chapter....the only difference is that we have a SM chapter, Chaos chapter, Ork Horde, Eldar Craftworld, IG regiment and soon to come a Necron Tomb and a Tau Caste all in one in this Malaysian Chapter. I like the idea of the T-shirt. I still wear the DOW National Tournament T-shirts we got the last time. What a good time that was....seeing all the DOW players. This time i hope we have the place decorated in a Chaos background. do send me suggestion/feedback on the tournament.

the tournament not just for a few of us, it is about 32players or 16 team. so if they can beat into top10, not bad for them also. plus, we have general waba, brother captain redeye and warboss Hunt to teach the new comer playing in better way. Forget about johnnycp, he's da biggest ork noob ever. if i really want to participate in the tourney, maybe i will relearn SM or Chaos or maybe eldar. Orks just too hard to play, cant really master the full power of WAAAGH!.

Well for Orks its difficult at T1 to fight with IG good players. They can really old their ground.
