That is why i prefer Galaxy Tab over the Ipad.

Most of the stuff i saw is Windows 7 Ready, not Android 2.2 ready. blink.gif

QUOTE(kiwlm @ Dec 2 2010, 02:12 PM)
I agree also, now that the cheapest ipad with 3G is only at 1999. Galaxy Tab at 2699, is really overpriced. But this is also because M likes to bump the price so high to make their package sounds so good.

I agree. The price is so freaking expensive.

That is why i prefer to get it from Maxis.

I carried my Galaxy Tab for a meeting with my client yesterday. They are from UK.

The moment I took out my Tab, 1 person asked me, "Hey, is that an iPad? How long did you waited at Mid Valley to get it yesterday?"

I told them, "No, it is a Samsung Galaxy Tab" and they looked at me as if I am having a CSL Droidpad vmad.gif

Well, Apple is still Apple sweat.gif

That's problem with apple upfront, no practicality ... just brand pride.

Just sharing, been looking a while for a sleek custom lockscreen replacement that displays well for the tab and finally sticking with this.

Attached Image

Pros: simple n executive looks, clean ui (fits nicely with the display, fullscreen n no pixelation), good info display (date, time, batt % lost contact), immediate notifications for calender, calls, sms, gmail, rss n social networks, widgets.

Cons: widget always not refreshing, quite a juice sucker, can only use k9 for other pop/imap emails acc, I caant log into twitter.

Overallits perfect for me...what u guys think? Any other nice lockscreen?

Btw, just found that u can upload attachment directly in this forum with the tab...wow!

Okay. Just a little update for day 1 usage. Overall the device is awesome. But the battery is really just mediocre. Just slightly better that iphone 4

frankly speaking I'm kinda disappointed with this battery performance. However other than this issue so far I must say that I'm really enjoying this device. Hopefully throughout a couple of complete cycle charging and discharging. The batter will be optimized and last much longer.

Sent front my Tab;-)

hmm...

1. Can download paid and free US based apps e.g. Paypal, Ebay, Skype, Hungry Shark, Audible.
2. Install Adfree, take the annoying Ads away from my favourite games.
3. I can install OpenVPN, to VPN back to office and use the SIPdroid to call office for free (sorry a bit techkie).

There are others, just couldn't remember them... biggrin.gif

PS: Now reading International Herald Tribune via Press Reader in coffee shop...

I assume you are referring to access to US market, need to root.

But if can side download the apps and then install on tab, no need root, right? rclxms.gif

The main advantage of downloading direct from market is you can have either the apps auto update new versions or you will be prompted to update manually ( your choice ). If you install from apk files - you don't have this advantage

And I can tell you most of the android apps are regularly updated - I recieved new updates practically every 2-3 days . So it is very convenient.
