My 3 days old Galaxy Tab had a hardware failure today. It was just stuck at the "Samsung" boot screen.

Quite disappointing. But it was a great device. Android was a good experience.

Yup, I did. Is that good or bad? Even tried doing hard reset but it was stuck at the Android robot picture.

Mine is having a motherboard problem. Just received a call from Samsung. They will replace with a new mobo but unfortunately no 1 to 1 exchange eventhough it was just 3 days old when I sent to the service centre.

Hopefully everything is fine after the repair.

Added on November 16, 2010, 8:59 pmJust came back from Samsung SC. Got a call from them about 5pm today that my set is ready. After checked with them, it was not a hardware problem. They reinstalled the software & it was working fine. I was surprised that they suddenly said it is a software problem.

Everything looks good now. Enjoying my Tab biggrin.gif

Go to IT store to buy the laptop SP, cut it into SGT size & apply on the SGT la~ Like what I am doing on m,y SGT. only cost me RM10 for the 14" laptop SP. DIY  thumbup.gif

I heard from Maxis guy said SGT is scratch resistant, but not dare to try it on the screen.  biggrin.gif

Added on November 17, 2010, 1:36 amSGT owner can try here to get the casing cover & SP.

I just recorded my user review of the Samsung Galaxy Tab that I bought on the first day that Maxis started selling at selected Maxis store. Appreciate all the LYN forumers to view, rate and comment.

If you haven't bought one yet and have any questions for me (been using it for about 3 weeks + now), feel free to ask, OK?

Thanks for all the support, you guys. *wink*

Maxis set is a 16Gb set and not 32Gb smile.gif

Mail for exchange - I thought can sync with calendar and contact? Well, I am ok with what it can do for my office emails

Nice voice but too much usage of "actually" tongue.gif

What app do you use to edit the video? It is quite cool thumbup.gif

What is the battery performance for continuous use?
*
For me, 22 hours if 3G and 2.5 days if 2G. Mostly web surfing and internet related e.g. facebook, twitter.

I hardly use it for calls.

What no stock of Galaxy Tab and try those big Maxis Centre like KLCC or TTDI
*
Low demand compared to other phones (especially iPhone). So limited stock I guess.

But I just got 1 for my friend about last Saturday, at KLCC.

Finally, I am done with a review at my blog.

By the way, shall we open an official page with updates and tips for the Galaxy Tab?

I tried updating to the latest firmware using Kies but it didn't work. The update was downloaded and when the phone shows "downloading", it has no further progress.

Waited for an hour but no progress. Decided to quit and restart the phone.

Looks like the Galaxy Tab's demand is not very good after the iPad has been launched in M'sia.

Anyone switching from Galaxy Tab to iPad?

Yup, the price of iPad is very competitive. So it makes people to go for it instead of Galaxy Tab which is very expensive.

And exclusivity to Maxis is another reason for Tab to have less demand.

Thirdly, an Apple product is an Apple product. It is all got to do with branding.

I carried my Galaxy Tab for a meeting with my client yesterday. They are from UK.

The moment I took out my Tab, 1 person asked me, "Hey, is that an iPad? How long did you waited at Mid Valley to get it yesterday?"

I told them, "No, it is a Samsung Galaxy Tab" and they looked at me as if I am having a CSL Droidpad vmad.gif

Well, Apple is still Apple sweat.gif

I believe those who are facing 3g issue is due to DiGi's unstable HSPA network. I am facing the same issue too, not only for my tab but also for many other phones.

DiGi does not OFFICIALLY support video calls to Maxis yet. So, you can sometimes make video calls and sometimes cannot (depends on luck).

ap price drop recently d..

NEW set can get around 2150, nice try for this TAB...

Have possibility to drop even further. Currently the SGT is the most powerful Android tablet in the market. When iPad 2 comes out or when another powerful android tablet is launched in Malaysia, SGT's price will drop a little before it is discontinued (at the release of SGT 2)
