@Batmaninkl
sorry if i offend you, but if you think videography is far more important, then i think you might be better off with the handycam or any PnS (yes, i quite impress with PnS quality except the depth of field caused by sensor size)

2nd, if comparing a580/60D/A55, personally i will go for A55 (only reason, FAST AF) don't you want your video come out with OOF? and MF is tiring..

lastly.. smile.gif rather than asking recommendation for which still yet to reach camera, why don't wait it release and try it out.. rather "talking army on paper" -- which is not practical & just empty talk..

@mike
NEX use in-lens stabilisation, so i assume it don't have sensor overheat issue..

Good afternoon...thanks for all the advices and critics on my yesterday queries.....don't worry hiansitt, actually i prefer negative critic with facts because i have read so many good reviews but problems are not highlighted. yesterday and today comments have made me do more research and thinking on A55, especially the video clip in youtube. I will agreed with you (hiansitt) and albnok, A55 do have better AF for video and very practical for my video purpose. My concern on sensor overheating also has been addreesed, it seems like canon (7D, T2i) are capped at 12 min, Nikon (D5000, D90) are capped at 5min. Lastly, some users in DPreview forum also indicated that the continuous shooting with high speed memory cards will reduced the "blackout" to almost 10 sec instead of 40-50sec. Now i just has have to try out A55 by end of this month if available and buy or wait for another 11 months for 2nd generation "translucent" camera A77....haha.

about the blackout thing when you use continuous shooting, you have to compare it objectively.

the blackout time, when using 10fps, to shoot 5 pics one go, compared to 10 pics, compared to 100 pics, for sure the processing time will be different, assuming you are using an above average speed memory card.

Thanks for your advice, i normally take 5-10 pics the most in continuous shooting...so not that concern to me as long as the high speed memory card can help to reduce the recovery time (blackout).......so any advice on lens...need something like 50f1.8 or 50f1.4 for macro use.....not a pro yet so need lens that is reasonable in price....

Wow! I love the soft colours in the pic! Very nice! notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

I like how the white in the pic has a bit of greenish tint to it. Luckily you didn't over do it, later it will become the HULK tongue.gif

p.s. Paging for lwliam or anyone with sigma 24-70mm macro/HSM version. I want to know what is your verdict on this lens. Is it good?

2nd question, anybody know if the lens has backfocus, can we fix/send to fix it?

50mm F1.8 where can macro..minimum focus distance quite far..i feel my 18-55 can go nearer...but lose in sharpness compared to prime..

hmm how mach u bought it eh??
the range is also nice nod.gif
for you if i'm getting a UWA, what should i consider ? (distortions ?/ mfd? / sharpness for sure / etc)

Batmaninkl : for the cost of getting 50mm 1.4 , if you're interested in macro and love the 50mm range , try get the 50mm f/2.8 macro (sony/sigma). or better get the Tamron SP90 rclxms.gif
