Hey guys, my F42am flash is acting up ~_~ Sometimes the flash will be out of sync with my shutter, like when i take a picture the flash will always be slower than my shutter de (probably by a few mili secs) so I don't usually get my subjects well lit. I checked my camera and my flash settings is on normal flash and not rear sync. It can be corrected after i detach the flash and reattach it again to my a350. Soooooo, has anybody experienced this problem???

A small update about the Sony A700 successor called “A77″:

1) The A77 can be a little bit more bulky, heavier and can produce more photo’s from the NEW battery (around 1.000 pictures). The battery is also compatible with the Pro DSLR which Sony will launch months after the A77.

2) The camera can do 720p60 and 720p30. We are not certain yet if it can do 1080p24 (but probably yes)

3) It will take CF+SD+MS cards, of wich you can use two at the same time (CF+MS or SD +MS or only SD)

I repeat, we will see a prototype verison at Photokina. The real camera will be announced early 2011!

Bellows increase the distance between the lens and the sensor (like a souped up version of an extension tube!) Something like what those really really old cameras have in front of their lenses. (correct me if I'm wrong) *newbie here*

i manage to learn how to work around the 3 screw. it will take more time if u screw up the corner calibration... and u wan to avoid that. i calibrate by 90 degree straight, coz 45degree no feel... then i shoot on a subject i prepare hang in the air, with all AF points, if all is sharp, then only i test it on the 'focus chart' because sometimes, the focus chart is not really errr 100%, rely on subject is better because its more like 'practical' is there. and i always tune a little front focus... so more of front is sharp then back (who wans to see the back)ear, hair or watever behind which u cant see it in the first place) is sharp?
*
Can I send it to a camera store to have it calibrated instead of doing it myself? (I'm scared I will ruin the camera) Hahaha! If can will it cost much??? hmm.gif

lwliam: No, you really have to give more light to the sensor - by exposing 4x the shutter speed of the +2 shot.

zstan: No need dump lah. Work within the limitations, or fix the backfocus.

ieR: That is a good question too since the AF sensors are on top! That said, having 14x magnification while manual focusing will make life a lot easier.

clivengu: You can, to some extent, do manual exposure;

1) set to manual focus
2) set the aperture
3) set the EV (this will affect shutter speed)

On the contrary, it will be able to use 1/4000s if there is enough light at F1.4 ISO100.

Yes when AF is on, video will be at F3.5, not F1.4. It is a technical limitation because of the AF sensors.

mastering89: You sure or not you got focusing problem first?

yuhi: Sony is supposed to know how to do it. Though I sometimes sense that the senior Alpha technician there needs a good firing from his boss!
*
Hmm, do you think C & N cameras have similar calibration technique to Sony DSLR? Because I think it will be quite hard to find a Sony center in my place as I live in Kampung. Hahaha! So might be thinking of trying it out at one of the C or N authorized service centers. tongue.gif

Haha! It was my friend's graduation at University of Adelaide, I was just attending it and covering the event. It was my first event and I did it free of charge since It was my first time~ There was another hired photographer by 1 of my friends but everyone came and find me, I think he was quite pissed because he found out that I was doing it free of charge (rampas makan ><") I think he left right soon after because most of my friends came to me to get their pics taken.

These week heavily poison by Cinematic DSLR .... my mind certainly comes for A55V but several point makes me stop down when comes to advance mode and format of bit rate (NEX/A33/A55 seems to be secondly weaker than Canon and the hacked GH series)

I really interested on NEX VG-10 as well but its bloody pricey that I really cannot afford for RM8k

I'm thinking about Canon 60D also but when talks about the lens of choice with expensive price, I cried T.T ...

Maybe I'm too interested to doing film on DSLR just because I felt that A55V definitely won't last me longer when I am serious for filming

Hope here comings a video sifu with experience in VDSLR can give me some advice here ...

I saw a reporter the other day while walking back with a Canon 5DMKII 70-200mm f2.8USM and an extended microphone mounted on the flash hotshoe and the whole thing was mounted on a camcorder tripod (those with big big handles to move the camcorder) doing a news report. Kind of overkill in my opinion lol! But definitely looks way cooler than a normal camcorder icon_rolleyes.gif

lwliam: You could just check the back of your 11-18mm. wink.gif

Also, that is not an A550 because of the front dial position. It is definitely in the A200/A300/A350 series; more likely an A300/A350 from the way he is holding it like it has Live View.

yuhi: Are you sure he was paid? He could just look 'official'. That said, if he was going by a "pay = number of photos * X" it would be odd; I'd usually charge by a "pay = fixed rate based on morning/afternoon/evening block of time". Your friend should still be paying the paid photographer (if he dumped him on the spot after you offered photos for free, that is unethical on him) and if a paid photographer leaves just because somebody else is taking pictures for free, even though he (paid photographer) is asked to cover the event, that is also unprofessional.

In the meantime, we too must be considerate and give way for the official photographer.

I like #2, but #4 could have the tree cloned out, and #5 could have been closer.

zstan: Love the stairway shot!

dirk877: Did you use an old SD/Memory Stick card?

d4rkholeang3l: Nicely lit, though the sandals spoil it. #4 complements the processing best.

shinchan^^: What info you want to dig? We post stuff about NEX here also.

Thanks for the comment, will try to improve on it. He is not an official photographer, just a friend's friend who offered to take photos for a price he charged hourly. I was more of the official photographer because the graduates wanted me to take pictures of them and I did it for free since they were my close friends. I didn't asked about who hired him. But I assumed that was him because he was an alien face among my friends and was not part of any of their relatives. Maybe he walked away because he was only hired for 1 hour? But I saw that he wasn't in a good mood when he was taking pictures, very unprofessional of him indeed :/
