@M11x
I started to hear some cracking sound on my hinge again this morning mad.gif
Damn ,never though M11x have such poor build.
The main problem is not the hinge actually but the Base cover that hold the hinge.
they easily brake and the screw that hold the hinge will came out..

time to call Dell again in few month once it's get serious doh.gif  vmad.gif

Sad to hear that, that is another guy pm me about the hinge problem as well.

Btw the r2 screen replacement is still working fine after they replace it for 2 week.

When the technician open up my old LCD screen, the hinge is complete mess, extreme loose
And can see it is going to crack very soon.
*
so i can say ur also come wit the WWAN cable right
yup mine use R2 monitor as well...but the base cover are still R1
so the problem eventually will come back like mine...

planning to DIY the base structure after the warranty finish.
by applying harden cement to it...usually cement are use for repair the car engine block
hope that will do the trick...

Matter of time I suppose?
Try and look around and it's a very common issue among M11x. - -

When I say matter of time..I don't mean that lol.
I'm just saying time for your m11x have not come yet laugh.gif

Anyway, perhaps they used different type of material for the pre-release or what you call..Prototype.

I don't know.
Well it could? Who knows.

Though I looked at m15x's hinge, if that thing could possibly broke, it won't be a natural cause lol. (Cast iron for the hinge..>_>)
PS:If you guys have not noticed yet, let me share a piece of fun fact, the heaviest weight contributed in a M15x, is not the body/chassis itself, it's the LCD panel and hinge.
