I think it depends of the set top box's HDMI output has HDCP enabled or not. If yes, I believe no legal capture board will record the signal.

I'm keen to know if there's progress on this too. I might upgrade to it if HD recording works. I'm currently capturing via S-Video on a Hauppauge PVR USB.

If you already have the Avermedia, try using the Component inputs ... should be close to HD quality on that.

Just checked and HDCP is enabled on the Huawei STB. You'll need something like HDFury to strip it.

Found this intriguing post on Slashdot while snaking at work. I wonder when incidents like this will happen in Malaysia...?

Using the TM net DIR 615 G2 router with the 7.05B firmware. Works ok for first few days then starts giving wireless drops even frm range of 10m away. Called TM, they came and change the router to a new 1, better than before but still no hope if under internet heavy load at distances further than 10m.

So I thought of using my 3year++ linkys wrt300n V1 router but i duno hw configure vlan taggin on it. hmm.gif Any1 know hw to do it??? Anyway, so i decided to go with using the DIR 615 as a bridge and connect my router to it. So far so good.

Conclusion, tmnet routers are not stable either because of its custom firmware or this D-Link models arent as good.
