Updates...
Two new live channels on HypeTV .... Universal (161) & Syfy (162).
Sadly it is 5 points each per month.

Also some new movies on VOD....

Thanks for the update! Being a sci-fi geek, the SyFy channel is definitely a must-subscribe for me. Plus there are actually a lot of good shows on it. My only complaints? The picture quality looks very low, and subtitles aren't available. I wonder how much will TM charge for 5 points. That free 100 points a month is only provided during this promotional period, right? It would be great if this channel was free for VIP20 users, though.

The only problem I had recently with IPTV was with the new channels (Universal & SyFy). After watching either channel for a few minutes, it would suddenly hang for a while, then go blank and display that small satellite icon (indicating signal loss?). Funny thing is, I can view them just fine via channel 100. It'll be back to normal after a while, then the same problem would happen again. Haven't had the time to complain to UniFi CS yet. Anyone else experience this issue?

I got a PM from someone I'm unfamiliar with, but I wasn't able to help so I told him to post his question here. I don't see any posts by him though, so I thought maybe he hasn't found this thread yet. I was thinking that maybe I could help out by relaying his request here on his behalf. Anyone else got a PM from him? I'm not even sure how he managed to find me or why did he think I could help him. Very strange.

hi guy,

is playing online games using unifi is better than streamyx 4m? cause most of the online lag issue are due to malaysia user connect to US user.
*
Usually it's better, but I think it depends more on what online games you're playing and on which servers/platforms. Is it server or P2P-based online gaming? MMO? FPS? Sports? Fighting? For me, my WoW latency was slighly better when I was on my 4Mbps with a 218.111.* IP range, but on my PS3, it's drastically better now on UniFi. Your question would be easier to answer if you were more specific, as different people might get different results as they play different games, unless you're just asking generally (which the answer would be a definite yes). So what game do you play?

Found this intriguing post on Slashdot while snaking at work. I wonder when incidents like this will happen in Malaysia...?

Dear rexio,

Dude, just wtf is your problem? Are you from TM? rizvanrp has done more for the community than it deserves. How can you blame rizvanrp over TM's mistakes or other people's criminal behavior? Is he somehow suddenly responsible for the actions of blackhats and skiddies, or are you just pissed that he didn't credit you? Did you even stop to consider that you might not be the only one to find it out and PM him? Or perhaps he was protecting you (or whoever that LYN user was) from TM's evil eye?

Get a brain bro.

Cheers.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was all a charade covering up a propaganda campaign by TM to discredit rizvanrp in public and intimidate him into stopping his disclosures. What? Stranger things have happened. Perhaps their network is being overwhelmed with attacks until the management sat up and took notice, and this is the best course of action they could come up with. Y'know, instead of spending time, effort, and money (and save more money in the long run mind you! but they're probably too dumb/greedy to realize this) to secure their network...

...get torrent up to 10mbps...

You should be getting 20Mbps, why aim for 10Mbps? I have no issues achieving 20Mbps on a single torrent without any tweaking.

At the Dir615 is working fine for Wifi, and Lan for me, seem to be compatible with all kind of phones too, iphone, nokia, htc, bb, etc.

With Wifi, max speed i can get is only approx 15mbps, guess it's the limit of normal 54mbps wifi connection already, could be the limit of the chipset in the laptop though.

Can get full 20mbps with LAN.
*
It's not a limitation of the IEEE 802.11g standard, as I can both download and upload at 20Mbps simultaneously while wirelessly streaming HD content to my PS3 over Wi-Fi with my Linksys WRT54GL. I think it's a limitation of the DIR-615, as all routers aren't built equally (link). Most likely it is caused by multiple factors, e.g. router, client, noise, etc.

Well, I'm using a 6 years old laptop, limiting factor could be caused by the laptop chipset though.
Anyway, I have a USB Wifi plugged in to my desktop as well, can't reach the max speed as well.
I'm gonna borrow a more robust ap, netgear wg302, to test again today.

It's just right next to one another.
*
If your desktop shares the same issue, then your laptop might not be guilty as charged. Unless your desktop is also 6 years old...? I myself am using a USB Wi-Fi dongle since my desktop's motherboard didn't have built-in Wi-Fi and had no space for another PCI card. I'm using the type of dongle that also has an antenna, just to be on the safe side.

Maybe it's too near to each other? Someone mentioned earlier that putting the computer too close to the router might adversely affect throughput. I have no idea how true this is, however.
