rename the Voodoo Beta 3 into update.zip? or create a new update.zip folder and put the Voodoo inside?

Yup. Just rename it to "update.zip". Note that you just need to type "update" when u rename it, otherwise it will become update.zip.zip lol.

OCLF? i just grab it off market.. very easy to use/do.
for the bros&sis using the steinhel oleophobic screen protector..after applying is it easy to swipe your fingers on the screen? i'm afraid its like the old glossy clear type which would be very sticky and hard to glide.. feedback please!

Got my Singtel SGS. Locked recovery mode. As usual, only ADB can get into recovery mode. Seems dangerous to flash anything until Samsung or some developers fix this issue.

mine also singtel set, but mine able to get into recovery mode, tried it when i install OCLF ... now planning to undo and then try voodoo LF, which one u all feel its better? i got 2170 quadrant score on OCLF ..

Hey guys. Just joined the forum. I'm on JPC Froyo Firmware now. Wanted to ask a suggestion from you guys. I wanna try the Voodoo lagfix but I read it's good only on Eclair firmwares. I see that JM8 is the latest eclair firmware available. So the suggestion I need is, what's the best Eclair firmware that you guys have used and whether the really old update.zip rooting method on XDA would still work on the newer firmwares like JM7 and JM8?

I used JG5 before going to JPC and I know JG5 was easily rooted with the update.zip file on XDA (on the huge Galaxy S thread). Would appreciate any help.

I have the Singtel Galaxy S i9000.

Lucky you. My SGS can only enter recovery mode through ADB. I'm really hoping that someone or Samsung will release the fix soon. I'm not rooting yet because of this disabled recovery crap.
