me thinks to get an SGS with maxis..question is which data plan to go with.. do we really use more than 500mb on the phone? not including tethering that is..

brother.. what do you download on your phone till you need 3gb? i am asking because i am curious how you guys use the SGS..
things i will be doing for sure is surfing the web (i love to read), doing youtube, downloading audiobooks and music..

more reasons to buy the SGS NOW. by the time the new dual core is commercialized we can change phone then..hahaha..logical right.

initiated the port to maxis today at 6pm.. hopefully go in tomorrow then i can join the SGS family..

same thing for me bro.. 2 days ago port to Maxis, got my SGS yesterday..after my contract end i will port back to DiGi.
I'm not impressed with Maxis's data speed so far.... in Mid Valley somemore..

i can't find angry birds in the market..can you guys find it?

i found the APK.. copied to my dropbox and grabbed it from dropbox on my SGS.. hehehehe i feel i damn clever

it is the same beta version..but release to US only thats why I couldn't see in Market.

my SGS battery suck major balls.. i think the battery not optimum yet, how ar? 3 days old, charged 3 times so far.. oh yeah, why i keep connecting to edge when i have 3g coverage? i check my setting i did not select connect to 2G networks only.

my connection icon doesnt show 3G.. it shows H instead..user manual never say what is H..only G=GPRS, E=Edge, 3G=3G.. apa H ini..

i using handcent sms.. and i replaced the original Messaging icon with the handcent one... (bottom icons Phone, Contact, Messaging, Application)

how do i rename the Handcent SMS to Messaging?

6 hours 30 minutes and I'm left with 48% power..hows the battery life for you guys? This is with no gaming.. & less than 30 minutes on the phone

Should I discharge the battery fully or keep topping up?

OCLF? i just grab it off market.. very easy to use/do.
for the bros&sis using the steinhel oleophobic screen protector..after applying is it easy to swipe your fingers on the screen? i'm afraid its like the old glossy clear type which would be very sticky and hard to glide.. feedback please!

noob question..i can read chinese characters in sms on SGS..how do i type/write them in sms? stock firmware.. maxis set..

entering recovery mode should be put in the first page FAQ..
a lot of people do it wrongly..

press and hold volume up, home + power.. the moment you see samsung logo, release only the power button for one second (while still holding volume up + home button) and hold all 3 buttons again..

i got some bad news.. not sure if you guys know..
headsets for iphone and blackberry WILL NOT work for SGS.

iphone, n82 all use 3.5mm type lah.. thing is.. headphones will work fine.. headsets (with MIC) designed for iphone and blackberry will not work.. a lot of high end headsets such as ultimate ears, klipsch etc. won't work.. a waste because our SGS's headphone out audio quality is very good.. can fight with ipod..

YES! i used the Nokia cable that came with my N82. works perfectly with sound.

be sure to enable TV-Out under Settings>Sound and display>TV out
