I have a rather unique question about the package. Will it come with less clutters than Unifi? You know... BTU lah... Residential Gateway lah... Set-Top Box lah... I saw at my sister's house, very scarylah. with the cables twingling all around the TV. I hate the clutters so much and I don't need the IPTV at all. It's one of the reasons I'm sticking with Streamyx.

Since Maxis package doesn't have IPTV, so what exactly does it come with? WiFI modem, DECT phone, and...?

Oh and 1 more question: is 10MB download and upload or download only?
*
Download and Upload.... :-)

Somehow, I am having the 6Mbps package, and when I do speedtest, my UL always higher than my DL....Note that I am torrenting and my UL isn't low for a start, min 5.7 (NEVER LOWER THAN THAT) or 6+....

Maxis WILL have IPTV....REALLY soon.....

Actually can someone verify the procedure for registration to Maxis FTTH for current Unifi users?

1. Terminate unifi first, then register Maxis FTTH, wait until installation date.

2. Register Maxis FTTH first, then given installation date, terminate Unifi
*
2. for sure. I didn't advice you on this?

QUOTE(jktlee @ May 28 2012, 04:55 PM)
Despite being 12 years with Maxis. I went to Japan Nov last year on internet roaming. My credit limit is 2K. My bill end up 8K but they give 2K discount with amount of 6K.  I had to pay 6K but I don't have the time to go tribunal because I had to make an honest living here.

So what is the principal of credit limit ?  They answer giving is that they can't control since is  a foreign operator. Imagine my bill from 1.5K one night shot up to 4K in 6 hours and then 6K in the another 6 hours.

That why Maxis I wish to congratulate the very good dividends and excellent way to ripping people way. I not afraid of  Maxis because I still have all the evidence with me. Is that I have to apply leave to get this case sort out and this is out my own expense.  I am 100% sure I am not the first customer with this case.

Rest assure please beware when you do international roaming.   I would rather donate the money to charity then to have it wasted just like that.
jktlee
*
Very true and sad indeed, but I think this will go accross other operators too. Truth is, telco companies can't detect the usage and it is not updated real time, unlike your usage here. And there is the general perception that telcos make big money through this, but actually, the bulk of it goes to the foreign telco operators....

To anybody out there, please check with your telco providers b4 u go overseas and find out the data/call rates. Some of them offer fixed rate for daily unlimited data usage, from around RM40/day.

QUOTE(ryudell @ May 29 2012, 11:55 AM)
they are known for that..that is y i dont use roaming at overseas..
i will buy local number even staying for 3days
*
I do that too! :-)

Well, teach you all 1 very good trick here.
Each telco provides Call Forwarding service, right?
1. Once you are overseas already, purchase a brand new simpack and get the phone number.
2. Key in the overseas new prepaid number into your Call Forwarding settings number. (Prior to this, you must of course activate this feature. For Maxis, it cost RM3/month).
3. All calls to your phone number is now routed to your overseas new prepaid number. By doing this, the outgoing calls from your ori phone number will be cheap (because it will be considered as making an IDD calls, for Maxis, we have IDD 132 rates which are as low as RM0.10/minute!!!!!) and receiving calls on your overseas new prepaid number is free!!!
4. Once back to Malaysia, cancel the Call Forwarding service and make sure you remove the Call Forwarding settings number or not you won't be receiving any calls at all!!! LOL

Any questions? :-)

Super trick and works fine with me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO TRY IT OUT!!!!

Rarely ask question:
The maxis come with one music and pc protection. Question is the one music services last forever or until i download reach rm192:-)? Can i set caller ringtone on my maxis fixed line? blush.gif How many devices i can connected to my account? What kind of pc(only pc? No android or OSX?) protection they gave that worth rm192?  hmm.gif
Any warranty given for the modem and phone? What happen if the modem strike  with  :thunderstorms ?help:
*
Warranty is a year. If thunder strike within 1 year, can still claim warranty. RM192 is the face value of the downloads and also the PC antivirus. From what I understand, its PC only (desktop/laptop), or rather, normal computer OS.

Yes, it will use the same cabling, assuming you are migrating over from UniFi. Whatever installation done in your house/cabling, is YOUR PROPERTY already... :-)

then what would be the nett price we need pay monthly IF we didnt make any call?

can we omit the RM5 itemize bill?
*
If you are getting your bill via POST and have subscribe for the itemized billing, then yes, you will have the RM5 extra charge

But if you are getting your bill via EMAIL only (NO POST) and have subscribe for the itemized billing, it will be FREE OF CHARGE.

If you somehow prefer to have the physical post via POST, then can just cancel the itemized billing to avoid the RM5 charge.

just got my maxis fibre installed this morning. both maxis and TM technician came to install. TM technician came to do cabling and provide modem. Maxis technician came to provide phone, router and account details.

Maxis are renting TM's infrastructure. So basically if unifi is down, maxis will be down as well. same goes to P1 and the coming soon celcom/digi home fibre.

so far satisfied with the service and speed. no regrets biggrin.gif

Yeah, that's the thing that makes me very curious also. I meet you all at roughly the same time and date. Just like 15mins difference. Submit all the forms together, yet, some get contacted really fast (2-3 days later) and some take more than a week.

Thank you Maxis for fast response.
*
Share your experience here, k?

Well, fast response or not, really depends on a few factors, such as the demand in the area and the availability of service numbers (telephone numbers). Ridiculously enough, it is released in batches by the govt, and they need a service number before they can arrange an installation date with the customer....

Sad but true...

Once you have cancelled your service with TM, your final bill will be in dark pink/red (showing that its the final bill). If there is balance after deduction of the deposit (which will be mentioned), they will send you in a form of a cheque (my previous 2 were Citibank cheque's) a few months later.
