Despite being 12 years with Maxis. I went to Japan Nov last year on internet roaming. My credit limit is 2K. My bill end up 8K but they give 2K discount with amount of 6K. I had to pay 6K but I don't have the time to go tribunal because I had to make an honest living here.
So what is the principal of credit limit ? They answer giving is that they can't control since is a foreign operator. Imagine my bill from 1.5K one night shot up to 4K in 6 hours and then 6K in the another 6 hours.
That why Maxis I wish to congratulate the very good dividends and excellent way to ripping people way. I not afraid of Maxis because I still have all the evidence with me. Is that I have to apply leave to get this case sort out and this is out my own expense. I am 100% sure I am not the first customer with this case.
Rest assure please beware when you do international roaming. I would rather donate the money to charity then to have it wasted just like that.

Very true and sad indeed, but I think this will go accross other operators too. Truth is, telco companies can't detect the usage and it is not updated real time, unlike your usage here. And there is the general perception that telcos make big money through this, but actually, the bulk of it goes to the foreign telco operators....
To anybody out there, please check with your telco providers b4 u go overseas and find out the data/call rates. Some of them offer fixed rate for daily unlimited data usage, from around RM40/day.

they are known for that..that is y i dont use roaming at overseas..
i will buy local number even staying for 3days
I do that too! :-)
Well, teach you all 1 very good trick here.
Each telco provides Call Forwarding service, right?
1. Once you are overseas already, purchase a brand new simpack and get the phone number.
2. Key in the overseas new prepaid number into your Call Forwarding settings number. (Prior to this, you must of course activate this feature. For Maxis, it cost RM3/month).
3. All calls to your phone number is now routed to your overseas new prepaid number. By doing this, the outgoing calls from your ori phone number will be cheap (because it will be considered as making an IDD calls, for Maxis, we have IDD 132 rates which are as low as RM0.10/minute!!!!!) and receiving calls on your overseas new prepaid number is free!!!
4. Once back to Malaysia, cancel the Call Forwarding service and make sure you remove the Call Forwarding settings number or not you won't be receiving any calls at all!!! LOL
Any questions? :-)
Super trick and works fine with me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO TRY IT OUT!!!!
