Yeah, the waiting list now is just too crazy. More than 3 months for areas with ultra high demand!! @@
A cat can get pregnant and give birth to its young in 2 months time....LOL

That being said, those who cancel it and want to apply again when the Q is shorter, this promo package won't be available anymore by then....I guess its a game of trades...good stuff = long Q

Remembers me of going to a Jusco Open day sale....or be in Q for free tickets at The Star tower....

It's been 13 days, 13 working days, Sat/Sun not included. And I still have not received a call from Maxis. I have already called them and asked for the status of my registration. The CS said my request has been forwarded to the Home Department. The Home Department did not update the status. She said the only thing that I can do is WAIT. doh.gif
*
The enquiry has been internally escalated already by me. Email sent to the PIC liao

Not just you, but for all those that apply through me and have exceeded 2 weeks

September is long indeed....that's a good 3 months!!!

But considering that there is nothing to lose in holding it, might as well just hold it till the last minute before dropping it. Can consider other options at the same time too and still be line for ur installation....best of both.... :-)

Where got such thing as 65N ? 150Mbps or 300Mbps is the theoritical max wire speed for 802.11n

http://compnetworking.about.com/od/wireles...1n-300-mbps.htm
*
Correct

Unless you're having a LAN party, doesn't make much diff I think since the bottle neck would still be 10Mbps.

Just now a TM engineer called me and said they need to install port for my area and it will take about 1 month of time. Now I know why my registration is stuck. This means Maxis cannot proceed when there is no port for an area. I will just have to wait till July. Ohhhh... sad.gif

For those who have waited for over 2 weeks, maybe this is also the cause.
*
Yes, this is one of the main reasons...port availability!!!

is the billing cycle start from installation date or registration date?
*
Starts effectively from the installation date. But the billing cycle (the date that they generate the bill isn't necessary the installation date). We have fixed bill cycle dates, can't remember it off hand, but around 5-6 dates in a calendar month.

*
That is really out of my control.... :-(
At times, depends on the availability of external parties such as TM contractors too, since they will be on site during the installation..

Indeed....with all the balancing acts...hehehe... :-)

No extra cost at all, since it utilizes the existing infrastructure. Master bedroom got existing port, rite? Then can just plug and play there instead of the one in the living room

B4 i signed up for the home fibre, i asked 2 diff sales person and they both said that the 150mins free call(to maxis numbers only) are for the registered maxis mobile number that corresponds to the ftth account. This issue has also been brought up at the official maxis forum.

Yes, its 150mins FREE calls on your Maxis mobile number.

It is, k? Whatever contradicting info you heard, those people there telling you the wrong stuff.....

Yeap, landed much slower than high rise installation. Unless of course you already have UniFi in place, then it will be more or less the same.

Added on June 16, 2012, 9:47 pmI like how this is displayed on the first page of this thread, big and bold in black....in Sept 2011

*** UPDATE *** Maxis FTTH SUCKS big time !!! 40Gb quota strictly will be in force even in their 1st month of operation, the speed will be throttled to 10% which is only around 0.6Mb !!! BOYCOTT - don't sign up, cancel your interest registration !!! Let them dig their own grave !!!

Well, quota is still not implemented yet and there were people saying last month that they heard news it will be implemented this month....but still, no sign yet....

We shall wait and see... :-)

I heard UniFi will come up with a cheaper package to counter this promo by end of this month? Is this true?
*
We'll just wait and see, but I STRONGLY DOUBT IT....FYI, telco companies are very agile and quick to react to market movement. Today, if Maxis were to launch their Value Plus Internet (VPI) plan with good rates and the ad of the people riding the bicycle, next week, Digi will have launched their own new plan and their ad of a person dropping off the bicycle while riding it.

That's how fast the market reacts.....It's a good one month since this RM118@10Mbps package was launched...

QUOTE(barney @ Jun 18 2012, 01:50 PM)
im quite amazed with the amount of "lost" case to customer who submitted earlier. i am one of the victim too. I register for my father house on 4th june at the nearest maxis dealer near my father house. i called last week they dont have my record at their sytem and will create a case to question the dealer. today i called again and they said the case no update...so i lost hope and decided to go to the official maxis center in Garden MV to do another registration for my father house. i already told the person who help me sign up today about my case and they said dont worry about it as they will stil go on with my registration today. Its been 2 weeks since i register with the dealer and they dont have my record for maxis home registration.

Also i also got register maxis home for my own house. today just got a called from Maxis about my installation and it will be August 15!! My area is bandar kinrara....oh well im not in a hurry after all so i can live with it.

What i am not happy is how come my father house registration lost....may be its best not to register with dealer and just go for the offical maxis center
*
This is actually more of a process fault...
The physical form is actually sitting at the Home Fibre dept. When it reaches there, it goes through a few process, such as time slot availability, port availability, customer background check (for blacklisted customers), area availability (coverage) and so on. If it passes through all, then only will it be passed to be keyed into the system.

Thus, if you realise, lots of the response time varies alot for each and every channel. Some register online and get response within 1-2 days, some don't hear after 3 weeks and still waiting. Some goes for registration at Maxis Centre, through dealers, through staffs or even roadshows. Forms are not lost, just that due to the process and how it is sorted, the response time varies alot.

call the CS
*
CS won't know, as I mentioned. They will only be able to see it once it passed through the whole process and is keyed into the system. At any one point, if it fails (etc: blacklisted customer), it will be transferred to another Q and the personnel/team handling that Q will do the call back to the customer. All the CS agents at the call centres whom you are calling via 123 won't have any idea about this at all.

I want share my experience with this MHF application thing.  Submitted thru Maxis dealer end May.  Called 1800 _ _ _ after 2 weeks.  No record found.  Resubmitted direct to Maxis KLCC 2nd week June.   Told to wait latest the following week for call.  No return call.  Check wifi coverage of my installation address.  Its landed property located along a straight road but locality somehow partitioned into Taman Salak Selatan as well as Taman Seri Petaling.  No wonder this mess.  Contacted Dr Pitchard regarding my problem and disappointment and ask for advice.  Resubmitted thru Dr Pitchard with unifi coverage map and received confirmation of installation date the next day, although its only in early August.  I would like to thank Dr Pitchard for his kind assistance and congratulate Maxis for having such rare dedicated staff.  Do keep up your good work, Dr Pitchard.
*
Thanks for the compliment, just being an ambassador for Maxis and trying my best to be the bridge between Maxis and their customers.

Glad that your case was resolved. You did a very good job in drawing all of it out too, so, nothing much for me to explain to them too.... :-)

Install one thing also can be so frustrating. 9.30 AM appointment, until 3PM no where to be done and canceled it off due to absense of contractor from TM. Come on Maxis, you can manage this better? You can say that it is TM's fault as they did not send in a contractor / the contractor forgot / late / etc, but that's not my concern. You rent equipments from TM, you sort out installation / contractors issue with TM. All I need to understand is that I am subscribing to Maxis, not TM.

Sorry for my rant, here's the long story if anyone is interested. doh.gif vmad.gif

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

P/S: I clearly know that Maxis did send their staff, and +1 point is that they are ON time. But they should manage external contractors with TM even better, I cancelled and put off everything today just to wait for the installation. Now I have to free up another day when they "decided" the next installation date. doh.gif
*
Was about to share your story that you send to me through email to highlight this to the others.

Disappointing indeed. Well, this isn't the first time. Happened even before this RM118@10Mbps package promo starts. Not to say that Maxis staff haven't been late before or always present, just that, cases of TM's side being late/absent is way more than that of Maxis staff.

Tragic indeed.

Will take quite some time for bro, enjoy ur 4Mbps in the mean time. Don't worry, I will keep you updated

Added on June 19, 2012, 10:07 pmAnother thing I want to highlight,

one of my customers got charged a ridiculous RM500 for the installation, for a supposedly non-standard installation. From the photos he sent to me, looks pretty much standard.

Luckily my customer gave the guy in cheque form and I adviced him to immediately complain to TM and cancel the cheque. No hacking, no drilling, just pulling cable along the porch terrace.

To all those awaiting installtion, please confirm it is a standard installation with no extra charges before installation takes place. Refer to the addendum form, point 3, on what defines a standard installation.

And yes, it was the TM guy who took the RM500, not the Maxis guy. Good luck!!!!

Call back within 1 hour for network/technical issue is impossible. The CS person whom you spoke too is certainly BS-ing you. Did you provide your details and also explanation of the issue (as in, enough info for them to lodge a case)?

Anyway, I myself will complain coz mine also slow. Don't really feel it while playing Diablo3 but speedtest figures don't like too good....Just 6Mbps package...haiz...

Although there are quite some complains here and there, esp regarding TM installers and speed, I guess there are quite a number of people who have no issues at all with their Maxis Fibre Home too. Diff is, they choose not to post anything here and keep mum about it... o.O
