Hi
To all who use Maxis Home Fibre, pls can you light up some of my question

1)how is the download for P2P, torrent, especially U-torrent, i download lot of TV series

2)What is the ping to SG server, HongKong server, taiwan server, japanese server, i play some online game (BF 3 etc..)

i stay at BU 12, using 2mb fix-line, planing to switch to home fibre, but not sure about the above question.
my current dl speed is 200kB/s, but ul is 38.2
ping to sg sever = 25-50, Hk = 50-70, taiwan = 90-250, jap= 90-150

thx vry much

Hi all,
I live in Condo, may I know if I want Maxis FTTH, does it need to drill hole for the fiber optic to come in to my unit? Or it uses VDSL?

Thanks
*
i guess its depend on the infra , if there use TM infra they will use VDSL or if there own(maxis) infra, they will drill hole . my condo using maxis infra.

idk. i did that statement to actually ask u back. tongue.gif

yet, i hv been offered the same thing...
still, i dont understand why they chose me to be their home fibre customer?
to be a scapegoat in the future?
here's the excerpt they sent via email..
We’d like to make you an unbeatable offer exclusive to existing Maxis customers. Sign up for Maxis Home Fibre Internet for only RM158/month * and get:
-          Your first 3 months subscription for free (worth up to RM654, depending on the package)
-          Free standard installation worth RM200
-          Vouchers worth RM480 (RM20 x 24 months) redeemable for selected Maxis products or services

That’s over RM1,000 worth of savings, if you sign now!

Plus, there are also further savings every month of RM105:
-          400 minutes of FREE calls on your Home line to all Maxis mobile numbers (worth RM40)
-          100 minutes of FREE calls on your Maxis mobile line to all Maxis mobile numbers (worth RM15)
-          100 minutes of FREE international calls (worth at least RM50)

With such monthly savings, it makes sense! More speed, more functionality for less.

i think u have to ask maxis if there got infra at ur place or not if not u cant even apply.

the speed is not like 3G brodband not consistent , Maxis fiber is like unifi wired if ur place got maxis infra the speed should be consistent.

14.xxx.xxx.xxx looks like a public IP, at least mine is! smile.gif

u may try to open a certain port , by using the Thomson toolbox-Game an application sharing -> select an application or create a new app which you may specify the port range to be opened. After that, go to http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ to check whether the port is opened or not...that should gives you a confirmation...

Guys,
Just to clear some misconception about Maxis.

1. Maxis is NOT implementing any quota. So you need not worry about exceeding your quota

2. P2P traffic is NOT being throttled

3. IPTV will be launched soon

4. On a cost per MB calculation, Maxis gives you more value for money when compared to other ISP's.

5. Port forwarding can be done on the thomson RGW.
