Guys,
Just to clear some misconception about Maxis.

1. Maxis is NOT implementing any quota. So you need not worry about exceeding your quota

2. P2P traffic is NOT being throttled

3. IPTV will be launched soon

4. On a cost per MB calculation, Maxis gives you more value for money when compared to other ISP's.

5. Port forwarding can be done on the thomson RGW.
*
1. Sure huh?

2. Not for the time being. When the time comes, surely throttled

3. What kind of IPTV? Astro? How many channels?

4. Really? Mind to elaborate?

5. This one idk.. tongue.gif

to sum it up, r u promoting for maxis?

14.xxx.xxx.xxx  looks like a public IP, at least mine is! smile.gif

u may try to open a certain port , by using the Thomson toolbox-Game an application sharing -> select an application or create a new app which you may specify the port range to be opened.  After that, go to http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ to check whether the port is opened or not...that should gives you a confirmation...
*
It show my port is closed.
Just notice that setting in Thomson router. It show @home.maxis.com.my instead of @public.maxis.com.my

Em.
still getting full speed for my torrent. Thinking wanna change to public ip or not since no impact on my usage now.

Guys,
I'm tempted to get Maxis FTTH

here's some questions:
1. Dynamic or Static IP?
2. My friend who uses Maxis FTTH says they have open and close connection, anyone explain this?
3. UNIFI have some serious restrictions on portforwarding, does Maxis FTTH have this kind of restrictions?

1. Private IP but can request from maxis public IP no problem at all anytime.

2. dont really understand( PS3 u need to request PUBLIC IP or else you cant do portforwarding BUT im playing BF3 online PC no problem my router can do port forwarding i dont have diconnected issue like others.

3. i guess soon every Internet provider will impose this restriction, UNIFI have started read their thread but some deny hmm.gif , BUT MAXIS i CONFIRMED not yet , i have the senior staff in maxis confirmed that they allowed it maybe to get more customer apply .

there is no need to look at BIZ20 as this is business package, fineprint has mentioned there is no cap for sure!

I was trying to make a comparison of speed. If there is a throttle I would realize it as I have been experiencing both connections
