hi guys.. im new in i7 oc.. can i know wad is the safe range for qpi/dram voltage? because currently my ram was running at 15xxmhz cl8.. wan to try the higher speed which is 19xxmhz cl9 (uncore 39xxmhz)..qpi/dram voltage does affect the uncore speed rite? correct me if im wrong..

Spec:
i7 920 D0, Hyper 212+ (2 fans) in non AC condition,
Corsair XMS 6GB 1600mhz cl9
ati 4850hd,
Asus P6TSE

Current oc settings:
4.1ghz
Multiplier 21x
Blck 196
vcore 1.3
vdimm 1.66
ioh ich both 1.2
qpi/dram 1.2

try 4ghz only cause hyper212+ would not be able to hold much .
maybe 3.8 would be enough
voltage wise, try to stay below 1.25v
ram doesnt matter that much but the problem is IMC, is it strong enough to handle around 4000 mhz uncore

btw, it'll be darn hot for the mosfet .
1 of the reason i went for full mobo waterblock is to encounter this problem for 2k ram onwards

with ur spec, just try to OC mildly .
dont expect it to be super high ok .
^^,

ya also.. the max i can do currently is 4.1ghz vcore 1.3 bclk 196x21... dram 1.66 running 15xxmhz... other voltage set to average.. stable run prime large fft for 12hours +-... temperature full load 85C max... no money to buy wc... its better i spend on sandybridge i guess...

should be good enough
although, 4.0 is more than good enough
above that is negligible already ^^,

spend whichever u prefer man
sooner or later they'll be obsolete as well
sandy will be replaced as well .

just be grateful with what u have and enjoy it to the max ^^,

P/S: words from someone wif no money to play other platform :'(

haha i like that quote.. sandy bridge came out 2 weeks after i bought my 950.. anyway monsh, i wanna ask your opinion. Whats the max frequency i should push my 950 with V6GT? In an AC condition, my load temp is 85 degrees, I OCed to 4ghz (23x174).. I wanna try OC to 23x192=~4.4Ghz.. Im sure the temp is gonna be 90++.. BTW bro, can i see your water cooling rig? Mcm cool gile jer full mobo WC

trying is ur fren
but please be reminded that after 4.2, the voltage scaling raise like crap
even me, im only using 4.2ghz cause 4.4 will make my room like sauna and temp reach 90 linX >.<"

4.2 is good enough already bro
play around wif ur ram instead .
oh and btw, picture nnt2 laa ye tongue.gif malas nak amek

4.2ghz with HT on with i7 bloomfield series generate lot of heats. depends on ur chip, some even not enough with a triple rad.

not exactly .
i got bad chip .
im using quad rad 120mm and i only cool proc + mobo
it could reach around 85C linX for my current OC .
only 4.2ghz T_T

have you tried pumping more vcore dude..

try 1.3-1.35v..

intel's specs on cpu/VID range tells that it should be in the range of 0.800V-1.375V..

is still safe to be within the range...

try to set dram freq the current setting, and try to push more vore..

im running 4.2 HT off 2k cl8 ram

vCore 1.375
vDimm 1.65
vTT 1.45

200x21

i dun really have time for fine tune .
but i know i have bad chip cause require darn high vtt for 4k uncore >.<"

in any case, i7 9XX shud be able to do 4.2 ghz in any circumstances iinm .

this is d best i could get so far .
no time for fine tuning cause bz with final year project >.<"

lucky to get that golden cheap tho..

i'm running 4.0g's on 1.35v..huhu..nothing much can be expected from a C0 stepping proc..

try search for

vdimm = Dram Bus Voltage

VTT = QPI/Dram

what mobo are you using..??..

he's on r3e as well .
for VTT its QPI/DRAM or something like that
vDimm is ram voltage .

i can go 4.4 but i dunno how much vCore i need to push
even now requires a lot edi .
my room feels like sauna >.<"

adding waterblock for r3e really increases the temp like hell !
no choice but to maintain at 4.2 >.<"

don't pushed further dude..afraid you proc will burn.. sweat.gif ..

one thing i found interesting in C0 stepping proc's is that it can handle high vcores..i've reached cpuV till up to 1.46V..when trying to get 4.4ghz.. shocking.gif ..

windows was able to boot up and running prime95 for several minutes..however, it crashes when on linx test... sweat.gif ..load temp was at 70-75.. sweat.gif

what's your idle temp dude, kinda weird when you are saying it is still hot even when it's full watered.. hmm.gif ..
