QUOTE(huey80 @ Feb 25 2011, 02:31 PM) how old is ur poodle now? fading too fast? is the inner coat (closest to skin) red or apricot? it's unlikely it will turn from red to such a light shade as cream. Fur close to skin is almost light brown... Jz d area ard nose became cream... Lolz... My kid is currently 3 mth++... She was 8 weeks when I bought it..n wat food/kibbles is she on? dun make it a habit to let her bite. Let her settle down b4 givign her food or treats. No 'hand' no food. Usually for basic commands like sit, down, hand, i only used 1 meal to teach them. I hand fed them kibble by kibble. U hv to be more patient lo as their memory isnt very good yet. She is hyperactive... Is it because I kept it in the cage Coz I'm working in daytime... She can only come out after I knock off from work... Felt sry for her Previously I gave her eukanuba(recommended by d seller) then I bought first choice bcos can't find eukanuba in my hometown... Jz bought science plan recently as recommended by d petshop... Which is better? I really have no idea... Difficult to control her once she's out from her cage... Faint Duno how to stop her from biting... She's a violent puppy indeed... Added on February 25, 2011, 3:24 pm QUOTE(yeowa @ Feb 25 2011, 02:41 PM) I believe the seller is quite honest... He is a nice guy and does follow up even after the deal... I trust him... This post has been edited by lablover: Feb 25 2011, 03:24 PM |

You can give her some toys to chew when she is locked inside the cage.
Puppies bite because of few reasons, they are anxious, they are teething etc. If you found her biting next time, settle her down and give her a toy to bite, praise her when she bites the toy and give her treat. Check out this video clip http://www.perfectpaws.com/bite.html it teaches owners how to stop puppies from biting. Hope this info helps. |

Btw, does taking supplement or omega helps in preserving her col? Or should I use d pet esthe color restoration system brown shampoo? Is it like dyeing if I use this shampoo? Coz I definitely do not want to dye her... |

I just brought Dorian home today, I put him in the pet carrier and while on the way home, he kept on struggling to came out, I pat him and gently push him down, but he still keep on struggling to came out from the bag. I thought he has car fright and this is his first time in the car.
When I reached home and about to put him into the cage, ALAMAK!!!! He poo inside the bag!! No wonder he didn't want to stay inside the bag lah! Then I settled the cage, he poo again, then I fed him, he poo again after finished the food... I really sweat... But one thing I really really heart pain is I saw Dorian's 1 cubit of fur was gone! The breeder said it might be pulled out by his sibling while they all playing... I really heart pain.... ![]() Hard to take his picture and this is the close up... ![]() He really hungry, crying for food while he saw me preparing the food for him. Then he finished the bowl of food in just 2 minutes i think ![]() |

Most ppl here give 'heartgard' but I have been using revolution which works as heart guart + mites n ticks prevention... QUOTE(huey80 @ Feb 25 2011, 11:21 AM) Hmmm..i think u need to experience it to understand wat i mean. Results vary from poodle to poodle and i'm more concerned of the negative effects. Cookie doesnt look like a poodle when she was having her puppy fur and with all the guides from huey Let me take my 6 poodles as examples. 1. Milo(apricot) - both times botak due to stupid unprofessional groomers. One is home-based (puppy time)& another is a famous academy (2 yrs old). Both times w/o my consent. When i arrived for pick up, they surprised me. Puppy botak time din hv any effects on coat BUT adult time, darker & coarser hair grew on the back of this body. It's like human grey hair on black. 2. Jasmine (white) - super fine & soft cottony hair. I deliberately botak her so i can get some thicker more rough effect. In the end, nothing happened. 3. Blossom (red) - botak once during puppyhood coz i cudnt stand the smell of puppymill on her. She's sooooo smelly n no matter how many times i bathe her, still got those smell. Nothing special happened as a result of this. Only when she grew older, WHITE hair began to appear. So if u say bald them when they r older, i;m afraid it;s gonna be worst esp o red poodles. I have frens whose red poodles turned 'old' with lotsa white hair all over body after shaving. 4. Coco (dark choc), Angel (black) - NO shaving done BUT fur got much thicker after a substantial period of consuming Artemis kibbles. But i oso believe due to their natural colour which has more fur as compared to other colours. 5. Debby (grey) - not much from birth to 5 mths but more now at 7.5 mths. Also no shaving done. There r many ways to improve coat texture. R u ready for some white or darker hair on ur poodle? Till now, even when i use shampoo n kibble n supplement which i deemed the best, i still cannot recover milo;s n blossom;s fur. A professional groomer will tell u, that shaving bald can give thicker coat is actually an ILLUSION. When new fur grows, it;s shorter n therefore it curls up. U dun hv to shave till skin. Just leave 1cm will do. Regular trimmings can give u the same effect. i went shaved cookie bald so bald and now cookie's fur is so thick , so naise to cuddle lolx And now ppl says cookie is a poodle lolx PUPPY FUR BALD AFTER This post has been edited by paige.pc: Feb 27 2011, 05:34 PM |
