Sounds good. Do you dilute it or use it neat? I much prefer shampoos that are dilutable (if that is a real word) as my boy's coat is VERY thick and a watery substance gets down to the skin much more easily... lol. If i use a neat shampoo it takes hours to get all the way through

I wouldn't recommend using a strongly perfumed (or long lasting perfumed) shampoo as it dries out the coat and damages the skin.
but if you use a good shampoo most of the time it shouldn't cause problems.

I agree that all brown specific shampoos smell really bad sad.gif . I use a perfume after the shower to cover up the smell biggrin.gif. The Percell one is REALLY good, works great on boys and girls.

I heard Pet Esthe is really good, but haven't been able to find the supplier for it as yet. Can you give me an idea of the price?
I use Chris Christensen range for pretty much everything as that is what i was taught with in school and i find it to work well for pretty much everything, but it is hard to get hold of and there are plenty of other decent shampoos out there.
As an extra thought... has anyone ever tried the Avoderm shampoo?

Colour series is about RM60+, Spa Mud Series 120+, Charcoal others I think around RM70+
But I tried Yu bubble bath really smells good the scent lasted a week, which I think may damage the skin.

I have heard decent things about Yu and know of 1 grooming salon that uses it (or at least used to). But i haven't tried it myself... actually come to think of it i'm pretty sure i have some samples lying around the shop somewhere, perhaps i will do a test and get back to you sometime....
I generally follow the principle that if it smells strong and the smell lasts a long time (excluding medicate shampoos that stink anyway), it probably isn't that good for your dog's skin and coat.
If you want a lasting smell and don't like any of the perfume products, you can always try mixing in a strong conditioner to your shampoo (although be warned this will make the coat take much longer to dry... like A LOT longer), or get conditioning treatments done during your professional grooming sessions.

Seriously you should try Yu, the scent really lasted for one whole long week even I bring her out for walks.
Sigh, my dog's shampoo and conditioner is much more costly than mine? Am I mistreating myself or I treat her too well? HAHAHHA

If u r using Pet Esthe colour restoration range, u shud get its colour conditioner to 'lock' the colour after shampooing.

Pet Esthe brand is all natural/environmentally frenly. U can even use the white shampoo on coloured dogs like shih tzu. It contains no bleach.

The SPA mud works magic for poodles with thick coat - detangles easily. It has given my poodle son less 'suffering' when brushing him after bath.

Normal that she'll catch a fever or having less appetite after the jab probably 2 days or so. Sometimes when they play also you carry them you realise their body temperature will increase - same like human.

How long ago since she took the jab, if today, pretty normal that she feels tired. Just monitor tomorrow, if she eats and still run around should be fine.

If she have problem eating & drinking and you find the stool with problems, bring her to the vet.

@kellvin - what brand is the shampoo. Also are you sure you washed it all out properly (poodle coats can retain shampoo like crazy. Also what kind of odor do you mean, is it sour/musky can you describe it?.

@Kelvenwai -Genia is very cute but i'm sorry, "teacups" make me shudder. I find it slightly immoral to breed dogs to such a small size that their organs are barely able to support them and they are so prone to disease and illness. If a "teacup" is produced due to being the 'runt' of a normal litter, then of course it is necessary to try and give them as much of a normal life as possible but to purposely create such a fragile life simply for the 'cute' or convenient factor to be frank makes me feel a little sick.
sorry, i am trying very hard not to make this seem like i am attacking you personally. I'm sure you are a very responsible owner who takes great care of their dogs, i put this information up more to ward off inexperienced owners who would buy a "teacup" and not care for it properly (which is bad enough with a normal sized dog, but for something so fragile... eek... i'm thinking of suzannetan's neighbor discussed a couple of pages back and the like).
*
maybe u r rite, but my fren got one teacup size n height with genia , her poodle call Moko, now 4 years old (wow wow meow meow owner) very healthy like toy poodle. i think her teacup is smallest poodle in malaysia coz 4 yr old size like my genia.

Standard poodle is 1500s from german as gun dog and water retrieving, after distributed to France success bred miniature poodle as companion dog.It became favored by French aristocracy and eventually became the national dog of France. Its characteristic clip was accentuated, and a successful effort was made to perfect the smaller specimens. Poodles entered the show ring in the late 1800s.After that new bred call Toy poodle a new bred smaller and life span longer than standard poodle average is up to 14 years.

I believe teacup poodle is new breed, and u can search google . USA , Hong kong, Taiwan and Japan very hit! Especially Hong Kong , they din breed miniature poodle now, they focus tiny toy, teacup, tiny teacup and pocket poodle.

Proven that shih tzu is cross from pekingese (china) and Lhasa apso (tibet), some shih tzu is very big size like Lhasa apso but now shih tzu is smaller 2 -3 kg but life span also same. Even Maltese also got huge size and tiny size ... just sharing ^^

Teacup poodle is not in MKA or AKC. Teacup poodle are actually sick or weak dog. Their lifespan are normally much shorter as compare to the toy size. Take good care of Genia, k? smile.gif

I guess she's just tired don't worry so much, you should know dog sleep a lot right esp when they're still baby. Even human you work so much on day time at night we eventually feel very tired.

I think what Divas meant was those breeders who deliberately breed/make poodles into teacup size is not good. Many yrs ago, when we 1st started to hear abt teacup poodles, these pups were actually given injection to stunt their growth. Thus, their lifespan was just ard 4-5 yrs max.

This is different from the more natural existence of teacup sizes. Meaning it;s a coincidence. For example, i never thot my Coco would be a teacup as her mummy is a tiny toy and dad is ard 11inches. COco was their first litter and 2nd child (only 2 pups). And yes, i do think her immune system was weaker comparatively when she was still a pup. She cud be coughing n coughing and after 3 visits to two diff vets still coughing. Then i decided to let her recover naturally - no more antibiotics and i changed her food. After that, she became stronger 8 mths onwards. 8 mths u know!! OMG!!
