Finally someone brought up the issue of Insua? Is that guy leaving already? If he's set to leave I hope the club doesn't waste any more time and just release him.

Funny Roy should say he would like to sign another striker because I believe our main problem is the LB. We've resigned Aurelio but he has yet to be played (Benched? Injured? You can't even argue that he hasn't 'settle down' since he was a Liverpool player lolx!) and Agger cannot play there every game.

striker? c.cole is not bad, yes he is not form in west ham, but look at their partner. if c.cole plays with other quality players behind me like gerrard, j.cole or meireles, i'm sure he will be good. his game robust which is what our striker need at the moment.

roy's tactic when he was in fulham 4-4-2, but at the mean time he's using 4-4-1-1 in liverpool. another striker need to give another dimension of our attacking. NGog is good but not good enough. Babel is same. all 3 strikers are not robust and tough striker that we need.

In a way, I'm kind of glad that Roy Hodgson is the one managing Liverpool now. I never liked the idea of the former Fulham manager managing us, but if he can lead us to the title, why should I mind? I am watching Liverpool now instead of hoping Liverpool win just to shut all the critics towards RB.

Usually, I'd be like, ok, 3 matches, 2 against big guns and we dropped points, 1 gain 3, it's still a decent season. But with RH, I tend to think otherwise and he has yet to prove to us that he can do things better, no attacking fluid, more like a mid table team playing where fortune can be a big thing for us. Last night I saw a replica of a Fulham team playing instead of a Liverpool team playing in their own ground. A slight touch of fortune won us the game, similar to how a mid table team would win against a strong opposition. We had to thank Torres for his magical volley though.

Signings so far has been alright, not exactly world class but do we need 1 world class player and sacrifice two/three decent to good players? Let's be fair, yes we lost Mascherano, but we have got Meireles, Poulsen, Cole, etc. More good players instead of 1 world class player to add depth into our team, maybe this is where Rafa screwed up. A Torres could have been 1 Huntelaar and a decent attacking midfielder, not that I dislike Torres.

Llorente did quite well for Spain in the WC, he can hold up play and threaten people with his physicality and height, that's why he is nicknamed the "Spanish Peter Crouch". He may add more dimension in our attacking method.

I hope he comes though. He's young still learning....it's a bargain if we can get him below 15m pounds.

but we need player that ready for BPL game culture. no doubt Llorente is a good player. but i'm afraid he is too fragile in robust BPL game. and this is waht Roy afraid of. Taivonen is good, but is he suitable in BPL game? do we need to gamble him in this season?

it was a very poor game last night, but we need to know our players morale are so low now since last season. we need to lift it up even it just a slightly win.

i mean these guys are professional......we are now in the 3rd game of the league and 5th competitive game of the season....
surely, these guys should be on fire, playing their hearts out....

Without getting into a tiring debate of tactics, i thought it was a very very average performance yesterday. Very very disappointing. I am hoping Cole will turn out to be the creative fulcrum. Can we rely on him being consistent then?

2 defensive midfielder at home against WBA?? what a joke! Sorry Roy, but I've seen this kind of over cautious strategy been used too often by our previous manager before. And why did you put the only creative player who can dictate the game and control the flow, too far forward as a 2nd striker especially when you got Pacheco, Babel or N'gog who can play in that position. Seems like players just kick the ball away and hoping something to happen. Absolutely there's no pattern in the build up play.. Can't wait for Meireles, Cole and Konchesky to start. And as for the CB, i'd prefer Agger than Skrtel.. Skrtel's man marking is poor, too prone of making silly foul in crucial area. Btw, Lucas should be offloaded comes January.. He's been too average.

pro or not, they still are human, the winning metality is really we need now to get winning momentum. i cant see high urgency in all players last night except 2 or 3 players.

we cant rely cole only, we need all players to be consistent. this is what chelsea and man utd players better than us. they have winning metality, confident and consistent.

1 lose is a blip, but most importance is how we bounce back after we lose.

i agree....they are still human....but surely......this is the famous red jersey they're donning...and we fans can expect more?

but its was a shockingly poor display......only a world class strike spared us the blushes...

so...where were the rest of the 6-7 players? what more urgency do they need? we might not have Chelsea + MU stars but surely, this is WBA we're talking about......coming from back of a 3-0 spanking by our major rival (for 4th place), at home against WBA..and we still need more urgency? sorry mate, find it hard to swallow...


Our midfield is just terrible...nobody worth watching.....Titles are always won with a superb midfielder or midfield paring...Lampard, Keane, Viera, Scholes, even our Molby and Whelan (very under-rated players) anchored Liverpool's midfield to glorious years...
I am not having a personal vendetta against Lucas....other players looked terrible too....but after 3 seasons, i am not convinced Lucas is up for it. and Poulsen looked average...very frighteningly average...

Cant help wondering if Roy can steal Arteta over from Goodison..or maybe Alonso will be a surplus and come back in January....nice dreaming for a Monday....no?

a team which was trash 6-0 will try to do better in next game. and WBA did it very well yesterday. gerrard is not his form. we play 2 DM which were very average players. i hope Roy can learn something from last night game. maybe we can see different game when meireles, konchesky, and cole in.

and for diarra..i dont want M.Diarra, L.Diarra is better.

here's my take on things from what i personally saw last nite.


We were poor.very. to say that we eeked out a win is a major understatement. Albion had to more threatening chances to score compared to us where we only resorted to those Hollywood shots by Torres and Gerrard. Nothing against Agger but he's not cut out to play as a LB, unlike Carra who can play at RB and Agger isnt cultured to be a LB. Square pegs in round holes doenst work. and Skrtel is one lucky man to be not penalised for his fouls in the penalty area. I've seen many ref's give them, and the ref was quite lenient last nite. hence thats why I'd pick a pairing of Carra and Agger any day over Skrtel. Johnson put in his usual shift though i feel something isnt right about his performance just yet.Overall our defense is good just need Konchesky to slot in at LB and Agger replacing Skrtel and we're good and thank goodnes no more zonal marking on setpieces.

Now coming to ur midfield last nite...we lacked the cutting edge, no final balls and lacked creativity to break down WBA. not helped by the fact that we had 2 DM's in Lucas and Poulsen. Gerrard was mostly isolated trying to pickout a pass to Torres and when Torres get the balls Kuyt and Jova are a tad slow to join in the attack.and often we were crowded out by Albion's midfield.and was my eyes deceiving me ? did i see Torres playing on the right side of midfield last nite?

as i mentioned earlier post our teams begs out for some sort of creativity and I'm hoping Cole and Meireles can provide the much needed creativity because Poulsen and Lucas can defend but Im sorry they arent someone you'd look to pass to to launch an attack. to sum up this perfectly we were a typical English side last nite. kind of reminded me of Houllier's Liverpool. I know the season is still young, but Roy needs to inject more urgency into the side, It was like a pre-season match. and did anyone notice how quiet was Anfield last nite?

Torres he put in a shift and a hard shift that.Did you guys see how emotional was he after he scored that goal must have meant alot to him

and if rumors that we are interested in Llorente are true then i'd think it bodes well, though i cant help to think that we are slowly being mould into a Fulham type of side and if Llorente makes it to Liverpool i see him playing in the "Zamora" role at Liverpool. Kudos to Roy at least he's at least making the right substitutions and leaving out player on the field and not taking them out while we are chasing the game.

I wouldnt say our season is going to be filled with doom and gloom just yet. because what we put of last nite was not our first team yet. Im looking forward as to how we'll play once we have all of our first teamer's then probably it'll be a good time to pass out a judgement on Roy
