you'd have ngog wide on the right?? seriously?
---------------reina--------------------

johnson---carra--skrtel--koncesky
------poulsen----gerrard----

-----------meireles---------------

kuyt--------------------------cole
-------------torres-----------------
this for me is our strongest line up in our squad right now.
*
Gerrard on Right and most of the time Ngog on right to get the ball and dribble it .Torres must be leave alone and he need alot of space

Maybe the sun contributed to our shit display today

Players can't see shit with direct sunlight and Johnson missed a header that could have cost us

In summary, Reina was the only one i was happy with today

johnson need to step up (and cut that damn hair!!). multiple times he was found no where near his position when brums attack. same with skertel. he was suspect for a few games now.

the central midfield was unattractive to look at despite their blond hair. stop gap signing or not.. RH should realize the combo doesn't and will not work, period. it looks like RH was looking for a draw. hate to say it but his small club mentality is still intact. he needs a few more games to get a clue which is understandable.

with cole coming back against the scum i hope either lucas or poulsen wont play. and babel given a chance on the right. seriously, its time for babel to be given a string of matches.

what do you think the line up will be against the scum next week?
*
Reina
Johnson Carragher Agger Konchesky
Gerrard Meireles
Maxi Cole Ivanovic
Torres

This is what I hope to see against Man United. I have doubts for putting Babel as RW. IMO he only does well for the striker role. Last season when he played as winger he looks totally awful to me...Maxi, on the other hand, just had an off day today I think. From previous performances, he can really cross well and make an impact for our dire attacking options. Still the best option to replace Kuyt.

Subs were late. Mid was rubbish. Front was rubbish. Back was rubbish.
Cant even defend an aerial attack properly throughout the game.
Johnson and Lucas was utterly rubbish. Johnson made runs but stupid runs to the front. He cant even cross properly. And most of the times, he passes like shaits. And this is coming from the England's no.1 right back.
Konchesky on the other hand didnt made runs forward that often.
Two blondies were rubbish.
Maxi was rubbish.
Torres still in wonderland thinking whether he should come back for this game or the next.
Gerrard IMO did his sulking best.
Best player for me was Jova and Reina. Jova made runs and courageous runs forward WITHOUT losing the ball while enough have been said of Reina.
The rest of the playest bar Jova and Meireles was static throughout the game. Decision-making was the poorest where i could see most of the players taking their own sweet time with the ball and holding up play like a near-relegated team would do.

Hopefully with the addition of Cole next week, we'll be better. Well, anything's better than our play yesterday.

atleast we DIN LOSE tongue.gif

next game, Europa match

can we win this time?

play Babel and Ngog and Pacheco

drop Torres, Poulsen and Lucas

That's exactly the issue. These days we are playing not to lose when we should be playing to win especially against sides like WBA which we barely deserved to beat at home no less and no disrespect to them, but Birmingham as well. Against the latter we should have at least looked like we deserved a draw.

6 is a very generous rating for Johnson. I thought he deserved only a 4. We all know he's a little suspect at defending which he was but even his attacking game deserted him last night. His passes often went astray and he gave the ball away constantly. The only player that had worse eyesight was Lucas who at times appeared to be colour blind.

It would be a miracle to come out of old Trafford with anything less than a beating at this rate.

I don't think that Jova is that good last night. I would say that it was just a decent performance from him. He has a strong body, he has the pace but he really lacks of vision. Last night I could see that Konchesky making a run few times but there was no through pass to him from Jova. Other Liverpool players last night are really terrible except Reina. I thought, in RH time I won't see the same body languages as last season, but seems like I'm wrong. I also seems to be wrong on the late subs. I can't really see the different of tactic or formation of RH and RB. Using, the same 2 DM players, Lucas, and using the long ball hoping that the pass will get through the opponents defence. It's really like seeing the same liverpool as the last season. Nothing changed. Really dissapointed with RH.

And Torres performance last night really upset me. There are times when I thought we are playing without CF. At times, I can only see Maxi in the penalty box when there are crosses from the right and left flank. I can understand that Torres been mark tightly by the Birmingham but didn't expect him mostly to be outside of the box when the crosses are in. Maybe I have a high expectations from him to change the game. And last night, I hoping that Ngog will play. Really need his sense of positioning and to lessen the marking on Torres. sad.gif

Just to reiterate, for an experience commentator like Martin Tyler to suggest that Reina's saved was reminiscent of the one made my Gordon Banks from Pele, speaks volumes of just how good it was. Banks was one of the finest keepers in the world and that save is still said to be the best ever made. No idea what I mean? Well let me make it easy for you.

October 6th, change the owners........i am not saying everything is G&Hs' fault...but just change the owner, and hopefully, so life will flow back to the whole club......

and then ship Poulsen and Lucas out, or never play them together again.....

Poulsen and Lucas shouldn't play again together in midfield! They are the same type of players...steady, back passes a lot and slowing down play. We only need one of them in any team, not two.

It should be Meireles and Poulsen/Lucas instead, or drop Gerrard back in the middle and play Babel/N'gog with Torres...I know both Poulsen & Lucas provides stability and possession in the middle, but we're suppose to bomb forward and start being more offensive.

All I can say is, you are very linear. I would easily give Lucas and Poulsen a 3....And that, I think is a too generous rating for them especially with that kind of performance.

That kind of mentality for every match? Seriously? What the hell? Then we probably be getting 38 points when seasons end.... Half of what we get last season...Brilliant...

my comment and observation was based on OUR material on the field last nite, wat more could you hope for yesterday's nite huh icon_rolleyes.gif

YES, our team SUKS big, why? we hav world class players but they cant even gave a decent pass to our own players, wat more can u expect

where is our midfielders tat is suppose to pump those accurate shots for Torres to weave his magic?

wat did Poulsen and Lucas contributed?

Gerrard did tried his best, but he is no more Superman considering our opponent's defence is SOILD TIGHT

Reina did save our skin and RH 's skin too

But then again, you cant plame RH as his transfer kitty is limited, We would hav performed differenly if we hav a Essien or Carvalho in our side last nite.

Wat RH could do is to slot Mierles into midfield to partner Gerrard and utilise Babel/Pacheco on the left to pump in more shots for Torres/Ngog to do the magic. Get a better Right Back and move Johnson upfield.

On the other hand, Konchesky and Raul Meireles did pretty well when he come on...an all rounder midfielder like him is very welcomed in the rough and tough BPL, especially us!

The game against MU will be very different. Cole will be back and this will have tremendous effect on the make-up of the line-up.

1. Our captain should be back in the centre of midfield - he contributed much more when he played there last night after Mereiles replaced Lucas.
2. Mereiles will begin to bring the Terry Mc effect on our play
3. Our defence will become more confident with the additional support, especially from the captain.
4. Torres should get more chances from Cole and between the two of them cause problems for MU's defence.

I've watched Poulsen play two or three times now and I get very puzzled by the very negative comments about him. Perhaps Lucas made him look bad because he has had to struggle to cover him, but I think he's a much more skillful holder than Lucas and unless you knock him down, it is not easy to get the ball from Poulsen.

Maxi is small and can get pushed around by PL defenders but his skills make up for that. I think he did his part adequately.

Give some of these guys some time - genuinely world-class players don't suddenly become duds when they put on the red of LFC.

When Konchesky and Lucas were replaced, we actually had 11 world cuppers in our team!

To be honest, the midfield pairing of lucas & poulsen looks like dumb & dumber. RH should put Mereiles & Gerrard in the middle

pessimistic time, out of the 4 games, which is the one game that we deserved to win? IMO, none, so is RH an upgrade from RB?

I would think that its a widely and commonly acknowledged fact that RH is more of a "ship steadier" than an upgrade to RB.

screams of calling for Roy's head is absolute bollox if you ask me. to be fair to Roy, he has the most difficult start compared to any other Liverpool's previous season, Arsenal, City and Birmingham whom have never lost in what 18 months at home? furthermore we've been in the mire since last season remember Portsmouth away and Hull City away and Birmingham at home?

I guess the jury is still out on RH to be honest, give him some games and see where it leads to. New manager's need time to implant their idealogy on their team and the fan's really need to wake up and smell the roses, We arent gonna challenge for the title this season in all fairness and 4th place is our best hope and that too seems to be a long shot with Spurs and City strengthening their staffs. Our performance couldnt get any worse than this can it? and provided if there are no changes against the Man Utd I do see us tragically getting trounced.
