tired of giving the tactics and review....one sentence...Liverpool played without imagination and movement ....and this is not first time....

the pattern is negatively same like previous match, except that Torres strike saved us the last time, and Reina's magic saved our blushes this time...

very worrying......very worrying.....

i blamed mostly on hodgson rather than players...when u put two CM with no creativity this is the result you'll get...and only made 2 changes sums up what Roy aim in this match...that is to get A POINT!!

The fact that Foster was busy eating pop corn at another end tell u something. We didn't even created any good chances/ It doesnt matter whether it's St Andrew or not...It's the team that I am worrying about...

Substitution is so late in the game !! Both wings played badly and RH didn't make changes.

it is not too late for Roy Hodgson to realise this mistake , experiment time is over.

I am confident , Gerrard will play on midfield role once Joey coming back from his suspension ,we need Yossy or Joe Cole those type of player to open opponent tight marking system in where I think Jovanovic and Maxi fail to do so.

Even Carra and Skrtel struggle with Jerome pace and Konchesky? He have a good left foot but he seems in doubt to cross the ball to near post.Johnson play terrible today and have few bad 1st touch.

Seriously sometimes I am tired seeing Lucas and Poulsen passing the ball back to defender and how Carra everytime shoot up the ball without looking at the front player. At first I thought Jova will eat Carr alive but nope ... quite a dissapointing match but hope something new will happen next week. well , this match is still better than when we lose 2-0 to portsmouth when they are in last ranking , St.Andrew is a tough place to go and in my opinion it is still no late for Roy Hodgson to correct his mistake.

while birmingham did played well for the game, today's match prove one thing, our team is slowly turning into a mid-table mentality team. Hesitant in executing counter attacks, obvious nervousness among our players, scurrying for balls throughout the game instead of organized marking and hold-up play, and many more.

and playing 2 players who went clueless upon having the ball on their feet won't help in any way. 4th game off the season, even though it's still early into the season, the sign is not encouraging. Hopefully the team will prove me wrong sooner rather than later.

On a sidenote, would love to see the following lineup for the MU match

Reina

Johnson Carra Agger Konchesky

Raul

Gerrard Jova

Cole Babel

Torres

my thoughts, we need gerrard in the middle of the park. lucas was poor IMO. poulsen did his job. meireles looks like a bright spark of creativity. it seems meireles will play behind torres, with joe cole out wide. right now, our best pairing is to have gerrard and poulsen in the middle.

p/s: i thought konchesky did well. hope the injury is not too serious.

and meireles looks rather exciting once he becomes a starter.

Added on September 13, 2010, 1:20 amand btw, 1 point is a good result considering how well b'ham played. Pepe Reina MOTM (where are his doubters now)

we've been consistently poor so far this season.. maybe Roy still got his Fulham mentality... to avoid relegation instead of to win the tittle...

too attacking style and with Carra and Agger, I dont think much can change from this system

our best lineup IMO is

reina
johnson carra skrtel konchesky

lucas(he sux today but he play well against ManU last season)

gerrard cole Babel/Jova

Ngog
Torres

with Ngog playing width on right and Gerrard helping in centre

Based on what ive seen

Reina is an absolute legend. totally kept us in the match tonite with 3 world class saves. We are indeed very very lucky to have such a fantastic keeper like him. Would easily walk into any clubs in the world my man of the match for today.

our defence..Carra and Skrtel need to stop hoofing the ball upfield everytime when they get a chance to clear and hope Torres can conjure up some magic to score a goal. apart from that Carra look solid as usual and Skrtel needs to be dropped and replaced by Agger enough with one ball hoofer we dont need two! Agger is comfortable with the ball on his feet let him play for crying out loud! Konchesky my my...looked like he'd been playing in Liverpool for years didnt miss a step. hope he recovers quickly didnt look too serious he did walk out of the pitch ok. Johnson with usual bombing forward runs didnt stand out but he was ok decent

and now comes the midfield. I've never seen nor do not ever want to see such a dull, boring , dreary, unimaginative midfield combo of Lucas-Poulsen ever again..ever..both of them were mostly static with them passing to the back or to the nearest person available without making any runs into the box, yes they defended but you have duties on the offensive end as well! Christ nearly fell off my chair sleeping. and honest to god i hope that either one of them wont be playing again MU next week. coz the pairing lack mobility or imagination to even make a proper incisive pass forward! Meireles came on and look world class for that 15 mins with those late Lampard type of runs in the box. goodnes gracious im gobsmacked with the peformance of our midfield today seriously. Maxi had a shocker of a game. didnt take on his man nor put in any crosses into box at all maybe he did but i cant recall for a moment i thought Johnson was our RB and RW. Jova was impressive on the left wing with pace good game by his standards but as i mentioned cleared lacked support most of the time Konchesky was there to cover him and to provide width

Gerrard looked that he couldnt care less as usual with his body language, no proper support from midfield ended up with no proper service to Torres at all. all those long balls were easily cut off by the CB of Birmingham. still looks like he's finding he's feet Torres he had a poor game as well

We need creativity pace and mobility from our midfield to support our strikers, from what Meireles gives in that 15 mins he should slot right in against MU and Cole needs to start as well, with Kuyt out Babel needs to be playing on the wing, was it just me or did I see RH scratching his hair and chin looking clueless on what to do next?

Reina - 10/10 - We drew this match because of him

Johnson 7/10

Carra 7/10

Skrtel 6/10

Konchesky 8/10

Lucas 5/10

Poulsen 5/10

Jova 7/10

Maxi 5/10

Gerrard 6/10

Torres 6/10

SUBS

Meireles 8/10

Agger 7/10
