KBps & Kbps is two different units.

KB = kilobytes
Kb = kilobits

for more info, i google one website showing an example for you.

http://techallica.com/kilo-bytes-per-secon...d-kbps-vs-kbps/
*
Hmm looks like it I was wrong, 45KBps is the maximum file size i could juiced out from a 384kbps connection.
I was wrong about the thing I've said earlier. blush.gif
Thanks for enlighten me! notworthy.gif

Out of that, today is actually isn't any better, I keep on getting 'Service Not Avaiable...bla bla' and occasionally 'Balance echaust..bla bla' (I just subscribe around this morning mind you) error in my browser ever since around 12pm from time to time till now, browsing experience is a pain in the ass, even posting this took me over 30 minutes... rclxub.gif

i think celcom nvr throttle the speed even u exceed the stated volume. i am using celcom prepaid broadband weekly rm18, getting 5xxkbps of speed.
I actually only get around 0.38mbps in speedtest. How did you get such speed? shocking.gif

Hello guys, is there any other way I can check my data usage, besides celcom online customer service account?

I can't gain access to my account, I tried to sign up but the temporary password just wouldn't go into my email inbox.

Thanks in advance.

after the next bill, i'm planning to stop for a while, about a month.
coz i wont be here, Malaysia.

i heard that when you want to reactivate, you need to pay some sum of amount to reactivate again. help? thanks. =)

If after update also cannot then you have to reformat your computer. The first time I plug the modem blue screen every time, after reformat ok.

During that rare moment when my desire got hold of my better judgement, I signed up for Celcom BB yesterday during their roadshow at LYP. Was seduced by the free E173 modem. While I understand that there is a 7 day trial period, and there is NO contract, I have a few questions:

1) If I terminate AFTER the 7 day period, is there a termination fee?
2) If the answer to 1 above is yes, how much is it?
3) For how long do I have to remain with Celcom BB before the termination fee no longer applies?

Thanks!

I cant call them bcos dunno my network or account number.
Its my company's bb line given to me... they seem to have mixed up all the sim cards & unable to inform me the sim's identity doh.gif

Was thinking maybe its like Digi BB.... its all on a fixed date... if not mistaken its the 16th.

to get to know your bb number, send message using the bb simcard to your phone simcard. and also the bb simcard your company registered is under whom? that's to know the details.

Celcom has also been barely usable for me in the past few days. Have been very satisfied with the weekly plan (slow, but somewhat reliable and at least fast enough), but now I get constant timeouts, pages won't load, it takes minutes to hours to load a website. This could be of course because they limit the traffic (feels very much like GSM, though my phone says H for HSDPA or so... using it as modem). But sometimes the speed is completely fine, as if nothing happened. And then it is gone again. And this has nothing whatsoever to do with the billing period. Anyone got a clue what is happening and if there is a way to solve this? An Uncle also has Celcom (a faster monthly plan) and he doesn't have a problem, even at my place.

Thanks sheyey and skeleton123. Decided to terminate day before, within the 7 days trial period. They say they will take 3-4 months to mail me the RM50 deposit cheque. sad.gif

Now service is even worse. Sometimes it works as it should, more often than not though it feels like GSM (pure GSM... no EDGE) with the added benefit of constant timeouts. And then there are blue screens telling me that they are terribly sorry, but the service is unavailable (any website...). Awesome. Luckily I'll be leaving the country for a while, and when I come back I'll probably just get Streamyx. (atm it is fast! But for how long... sad.gif )

Weekly prepaid user here like yours, same thing happen to me too, the only time when I got decent connection is when its early in the morning. During peak hour around 8 ~ 2am everything went down the slope.

Will be saying goodbye to Celcom, switched to other isp already, much more expensive, but definitely worth it!

are u using a SE phone?

i thought i was the only one facing this problem. i have been having serius trouble with loading pages using the weekly plan for a week already. i'm also using my phone as a modem. the weird thing is my phone shows that there is only a EDGE connection but when i use my friends celcom modem with my sim card it shows a HSDPA line. yesterday was even worse. i saw the line slowly change from HSDPA to EDGE to GPRS then it dced.

the ping rate is also different. using my phone i have a ping rate of about 600-1000ms. but when using the modem i have a ping rata of a bout 300-500ms.

has celcom programmed the modem to act differently or is the problem from my phone.
