Hi..

Im using celcom basic (RM68) with a celcom modem. During registration paid rm100.

If I want to terminate, do i have to return the modem or i can keep it

Yeah, my party is most def over. Fortunately I'll be going to another country for a month or two where I'll have decent service. Perhaps when I come back it will be better, or I'll use a different ISP (ok, they are all not very good...).

@akagidemon: I'm using a HTC with Android. Have installed Any Cut, which lets me access a hidden settings thing (telephone info or something like that?) where I can enforce 3G. Had issues with my phone/Celcom only picking EDGE where 3G was available, the program solved it for me). The speed isn't any better with my 3G modem from ZTE though, so it must be Celcom. Since others are complaining too I guess they are doing it to everyone using their weekly plan? Anyone not having a problem there? How much traffic do/did you use? I went over the limit, slightly, so I can imagine that that is why I get slowed down. But also when I just renewed the plan? Now I'm using daily and I still get throttled to unusable speeds. And obviously I'm not exceeding any limits now.

i'm using SE handphone as the modem. the hting is my phone detects only EDGE but using the celcom BB modem it can detect a 3g line. weirdly. i think my phone is more honest since when my phone is showing H for HSDPA line the internet flies. it is really face.

i may have exceeded my limit last week. but i just renewed weekly plan today and i am still getting unusable slow speeds. so throttling for bandwidth that i havent even used?? i dont think it is a good business practice. i am seriusly thinking of disconnecting myself form the net since i dont have any other option then celcom in my area.

Added on April 3, 2011, 8:18 pmcan celcom reclaim back the bandwidth that we have overuse in the pass and throttle us on that basis coz i am having really shitty speed and connections. calling the CS is a waste of time.

Added on April 3, 2011, 8:41 pmjust went to the celcom BB facebook and i loled.

have a look for urself. i am guessing most of u guys will reply really late coz the line is crappy.

Added on April 3, 2011, 9:15 pmtalked to a celcom CS just now and she said that intermittent service disruption to all weekly and daily broadband subsricbtion . it seems like they are going by numbers. dont know what update or upgrade. and after talk to a nice technical team member at celcom, we have deducted that the modem that i am using is at fault.

So everyone of us suddenly has a faulty modem? Yeah right. Update/upgrade sounds more like it... probably an update to support throttling sad.gif Ah well, it was too good to be true.

well my problem was the modem since i have nobody else to trouble shoot with me . i am the sole user of celcom prepaid BB in my area.

for other people it may be the update that i have wrote about in my previous post.

they are upgrading the system by individual phone number.

and today after switching back to firefox from chrome and tweaking firefox abit i am getting acceptable internet speeds. not lighting fast but the normal speed i am used to.

Still no 1 answer my question.. sad.gif

About the connection speed i did realize the slow down. When i test at speedtest (using my RM68 plan) i always get 0.25~0.3Mbps while usually it is around 0.35~0.45Mbps (rarely to get above that. normally in early morning 3-7am). It started about last 4weeks ago...I dont know what really happened but if it is tru celcom is curently upgrading wonder when they finish hmm.gif

I'm wondering they always use "unlimited" such as the free unlimited 3gx data built in with p148 plan,

is that mean unlimited data you can use but charges u after exceeding the specified amount of data you have used?

or actually unlimited data (unlikely)

or it means unlimited access, got a limit, cap you after exceeding the limit(mostly on celcom broadband plans)
