Done a couple of times, but not everytime.

I only ask them to do it if I switch from Mineral oil to Syn or Full-Syn.

The difference is there, quieter and smoother engine, even if I do the Engine flush during oil change for the same type of it, Syn to Syn.

I do not believe engine flushes are something you should encourage. Normally engine flushes are a last resort. Not something you do for fun. E.g. When you have a sludged engine. This is especially true for older vehicles.

I think the engine flush is not the type that u pointed out. The engine flush here is actually pour some 'flushing oil' before oil change and let the engine run for 15-20 minutes, then drain the old oil and fill with new oil.

However the link you provided is actually flushing engine using pump and horse, which enforce the solvent into the engine and 'flush' it, i think these 2 are different things. hmm.gif

Nope. The article is referring to

QUOTE(that NBC article)
An engine flush is where they pour a chemical solvent into your engine, supposedly to flush out old sludge.

That pumping thing they mentioned is some of the other flushes that do damage besides an engine flush. I think it was the transmission flushing machine.

Added on September 2, 2010, 12:30 amin addition, here's a quote from part 2 of that article

QUOTE(part 2)
The truth is Honda, Nissan, GM and Ford all recommend against doing engine flushes.
"Engine flushes could potentially damage an engine," says Dave Johnson, a top Ford engineer.

Same here, but some wakil service always include engine flush during the service, always has to ask them to exclude it. Flushing only recommended if you use bad mineral oil and overshoot the service mileage then the oil may be overused/burnt and sludge started to deposit in the engine. Today's semi-syn and full-syn oil already has detergent in the oil to clean the engine by itself.
