Something for you to try out, with your flashgun compare the recharge rate between alkalines versus nimh rechargeables. You'll be amazed smile.gif.

I always use the hood, cuz it can protect both my uv filters and the lens. Feeling insecure when I don't use the hood.

rolleyes.gif I always use it just for the sake of using it...if not using...will feel abit not right one sweat.gif

You should not trust the LCD screen, best way to judge the image quality is through your monitor biggrin.gif

hi all... newbie in DSLR joining too...

got my first DSLR (Nikon D3000) last 27 august... feeling good with it now... been learning the basics of what is aperture, shutter speed and more stuff since the days of compacts, now only got chances to practice and i am more satisfied with my shots compare to any compacts i have ever used... no regrets spending money on DSLR... laugh.gif

still, there are lot of things to learn...

recent discussion on the flash just reminded me how i hate using flash when i used compact cameras as it always make my picture overexposed or having hotspots... if it really is dark, i resort to my phone's torchlight to make it better laugh.gif

4 to 5 seconds oso consider fast.. But it's kinda impposible.. I own both flash my self, SB600 full flash recharge also take around 4 ~ 5 seconds, and my Di622 takes around like 8 ~ 10 seconds..
If u wanna measure ur speed of Di622, when u hear the beeping sound that indicates full recharge, else that will be not full recharge...
