Come come come, all gearheads show off ur shiny new toys here.

Just some simple guidelines for this thread.

1. Pics or it didn't happen!

2. 800 x 600 is the maximum resolution

3. If possible avoid attaching to LYN, make use of other image hosts such as ImageShack, Photobucket

4. Do NOT quote pictures. Reply with spoilers if u must.

5. Short discussion is ok, unless our admin/moderator find it more to spamming/out of topic

I bankraaaaaap oredi, cannot buy anything else for the next 10 years so no posting from me on the 1st page this time. sad.gif
You guys have fun spending money and posting. thumbup.gif

i dont know if is this the right thread to ask but i'm searching for 3rd party battery for D90, octopus or phottix.
there's a seller in this forum who sells this battery for rm60++ but have to COD quite far from my house cry.gif
so i went to mid valley and asked a seller from a reputable camera shop.
he gave a 'digital camera' brand battery for rm120 and laughed at me when i asked for the rm60 battery and from his eyes and i can assume that he said 'in your dream!' mad.gif
so where (in KL) i can found this 3rd party battery for rm60++ without having to deal with this type of seller who thinks he knows everything about digital camera

Went through a lot of shops in LYP,sadly my bottom attire(School pant+white shoes) really turn up the conmen(Few chinese, offered 450,480,499) there, they even told me"It was the best price we offered specially for you,a student"That seriously pissed me and I literally went to another shop, and a malay quoted me a suitable price to my liking,420.Then I finally agreed and take it home.

Uncle Ian,

When you dream of your Leica M, remember not to stim too much shakehead.gif . Coz that small lens stuffed in your underwear, unlike Canon lens, got metal lens hood shocking.gif . Sharp edges. Ouch!! cry.gif

I just found a source to get Sanyo Eneloop 2000mAh, double A size, 4 batteries per packet, for RM50 per packet. Anyone bought this before, care to share the experience with the battery, and how much was it bought?

The one I found is RM50 including postage biggrin.gif reliable because I used to buy a lot of other batteries from him. Just not sure about this Eneloop hype. So I suppose it's safe to say Eneloop will be a good buy?

if you are a casual photographer eneloop would be best because of the slow decay, enough for taking shots and able to have it available for your next shot few days later happy.gif

For professionals who covers event like weddings or photoshoots, they would favour batteries with 2700mAh for the faster flash cycle.

2700mah is merely the battery's capacity. Nothing to do with how fast it can recycle the flash. Anyway, u fellas all way OT already.

Exactly, I have been telling this in the rechargeable batteries thread. mAh is capacity and has nothing to do with recycle rate.

Couldn't find any with the adapter ring before this.
Only those screw in type which can't put the hood face body.

Found this from blarerung in Garage Sales.
Bought this for Rm30. But it's plastic adapter ring. The original one is made of metal, IMNM. laugh.gif

Just to share to those who is looking for this. smile.gif

But also i have seen ppl shot crap with 1D, so its the skill that counts.

Hey, it's a Mark1 la smile.gif But IMHO older cameras tend to produce the pictures I want rather than the new ones I've tried.

Ahh.. My long planned goal! Too bad I didn't get the colour I wanted ><... Apparently Sony Malaysia has stopped providing resellers with Twin Lens nowadays... So ppl who plan to grab 1 of these, better do it fast or else you'll have to get it at Sony store only in the future!

Btw, the seller told me not to charge overnight for the battery for the first time.. 4-6 hours is enough he said....

Another question! Anyone can give me a solution on how to keep the other lens?? Cause the NEX lens dun have the bottom cap which is frustrating! I dun have a dry box or anything....

U kennot tahan the low mp and weight and buy 5D as extra ?
or money too much ? laugh.gif
how is the af between 5D and 1D ?
*
I still love the 1D despite the low mp (I took the shot of the 5D with my 1D anyway tongue.gif) But I needed an extra body due to work purposes so I decided to go for full frame biggrin.gif

The AF between those two are really different and I'm still getting used to the "little" af points. Of course the 1D is way faster and accurate but the 5D is not that bad either smile.gif

Nice toy you have there dude!  laugh.gif

Here is mine. Added 1 more to my L-coholic collection. Went for this as a replacement for the 16-35. Didn't need the F2.8. Trying to complete my holy trinity.  laugh.gif The picture looks slanted is due to my table.

*
Thanks! Good buy too! wink.gif I would've bought the same lens as yours if I didnt need the f2.8 biggrin.gif

This is a thread where members post their purchases, not post things that is desired.

Besides, the owner of the lens combo shoots tasteless, poorly composed street shots. So what if he uses a $6500 lens?

May I know how much and where do you get this? Mind to share what are included in the package?
if I were to buy this camera at HK (since it's cheaper), is there any difficulties in case i want to claim warranty at msia?

It was rm2359 for the camera with 8gb MMC... Other than that, I was conned in buying over priced accessories lol...

HK is a lot cheaper... But warranty is a thing since the warranty would only be valid in HK... I think you might be able to service it for a Price here in Malaysia... Not very sure though you could ask other experienced ppl around

Thinks he works for B+W tongue.gif

It's a fast prime lens eh. Not a UWA
used on crop body. think the vignette wont be so pronounced if there's any

These are used sets. The kitty 18-55mm IS and the body are bought separately from different sellers but the condition is really really pristine. biggrin.gif

Total damage:
1) 500D (body) with 2 years warranty left+full accessories+ 2x4GB SDHC = RM 1.5k

2) 18-55mm IS (1 week personal warranty)+Matin UV filter+front/rear cap = RM 235

Subtotal: RM 1,735 OK? hmm.gif

Sold off full set of used 350D+18-55mm IS+nifty fifty+2GB CF = RM 1,150

So actual amount spent: RM 585

Not for me though, helped my bro-in-law to sell off his 350D and bought this used 500D instead. biggrin.gif

well...at 1st i was considering both non VC and VC version...n after i try it out...the VC doesnt really help me in most situation..well in my own preferences...so i settle for a non VC version..plus i can save more n still get good pic at wide open......of cos on the non VC version u need steady hand at slow shutter speed...but its a fast lens wit a wide aperture of f2.8...if it gets too dark to shoot well..a flash will do the job jus fine... biggrin.gif

Don't think so. All lenses made in japan will be printed MADE IN JAPAN.
And for such a kit lens, you think Nikon will made it in Japan ? laugh.gif

And Nikon Corp, Japan is to show the company name only, my guess tho.

i used to have the Thailand version last time.. the painting & marking was different, the painting Nikon 18-70 already faded.
as for this Japan version, the painting is stronger, still intact, despite its old age.

the built for those 2 versions are same, except the elements inside.. Japan has better elements than Thailand's (i searched everywhere for the review, but i couldnt find any.. this testimony came from my sifu biggrin.gif )

oh, my Thailand version didnt have any print about Japan at that spot smile.gif

during the D70's era, if im not mistaken, there was a kitlens made in Japan.

and regarding this 18-70 kitlens,
"This is a serious lens, not a "kit lens" or a cheap replacement for a lens cap sold as part of a kit as with most other cameras." [Ken Rockwell]

still, correct me if im wrong.. im not a lens expertise, im just sharing my knowledge cool2.gif

I went through my lenses too. It will be printed Made in Japan even my my old dusty 35mm f/2D

And I don't trust Kenrockwell. I used to have 3 of 18-70. Got it as cheap as 450 only.

You might be right but I will go check out the local unit of 18-70 as I already sold off mine.

Here I got this Crumpler Bag from Ampcorp Mall in the front of entrance.
Really good bargain it's only for RM100, but unfortunately it's the last one.
But they still have the 6 Million Dollar Home, still much cheaper from many places.
You say the guy who bought the last 5 Million Dollar Home recommended you, I'm sure he still can give a lower price.

btw, with the price, it is quite reasonable as i assume the quality is acceptable(as my friend own 1 imitation crumpler 6mdh)

I wasn't sure if it's a fake until I saw the tag. Crumpler's MDH series don't come with that tag.

RM150 is alright though. I once paid RM250 for a counterfeit 6MDH, but I managed to get a refund after I found out it was a fake.

Well.. it is fake... Some of the easiest way to tell is the quality. Normally Crumpler bag is not easily erm... crumpled. The material is sorta hard even for the outer flap.

That said, RM100 is still acceptable bah...

Well.. it is fake... Some of the easiest way to tell is the quality. Normally Crumpler bag is not easily erm... crumpled. The material is sorta hard even for the outer flap.

That said, RM100 is still acceptable bah...

shoot i hardly to remove canon stitch on my 5MD bags. consider ori? beg canon, isik dalam nikon tongue.gif but dont care la as long as i get it cheap~! tongue.gif

dunno it's true or not. but it seems to be many fake kenko filters in the market now. price is far cheaper than hoya if both are same company with same quality. just my 2 cents notworthy.gif

Hi Nic... yeah bagman's exterior is too soft and clumsy, even though both bagman and 7 mil are almost the same size on measurement but 7mil looks tidy and smaller.

Going to sell off my kata backpack as I don't really use it. I thought your 7mil is black? No?

Same strap that comes with the 1D-series.

Paid a premium for it (about two times the price of an Industry Disgrace), but I prefer these straps. Easier to stuff in the bag.

Those r the best lens caps. Dunno why Canon persists with the stupid side pinch caps. Can't access the cap when a lens hood is on. All my caps r same as urs except mine is all black no name 1.

I use it like how it originally comes, I place the body+kit lens pointed downwards. The middle part is to put the dslr+kit, then inside there i adjusted the smaller separators to fit the kit lens nicely. So that when I place the body+kit downwards it wont shake.

Then the left and right side is roughly the same, just adjusting it to fit my flash's size.

Oh, this is the smaller version? Because the contender for Gorillapod SLR is about RM 80... hmm.gif

Yes, it helps on night shots. I didn't bring my tripod to my Langkawi trip but I threw in this Gorillapod into my bag. Managed to get some long exposure shots with it and the best thing is it can be placed anywhere! thumbup.gif

The D700 used to cost around 8000 something when it was launched, , even few months ago the prices were quite near to 7000. Now it's only available for around 6~6.1k
