i've experience that disable APIC will give you lower performance.
*
did you disable after windows install? or did you reinstall after you disable? i've read about this APIC in abit forum. majority says better MHz after disabling.

Is there anyway to maximize the potential of a mobo? Mine seems to max out at 225Mhz. Anything over, Prime95 fails at exactly 7 minutes. Always exactly 7 Minutes.

Check my sig for my specs. Oh, and I'm using D26 Mantarays XT 2T.

"vCore Fluctuation Fix"

how did you do that ?

BTW: try to feed your cpu with more voltage.

@ Dead__Man

you did the vcore fluctuation pencil trick, right? i just wonder that have you faced the problem that cant get over 1.85v after doing the trick? because once I set the vcore over 1.85v, the mobo cant boot and the beep sound will be heard.

@ cubchai

yes, disable APIC will give more fsb. But for my case, the extra 3mhz fsb cant cover back the lower bandwidth.

@Mr_47
I have an unlocked CPU, so I just change the multi when aiming for FSB.

@gsan
I have never tried anything over 1.7v. My Athlon, though good rating, is a power hog. Load at 52c on 1.675 with a Thermalright SI-97, and that's nighttime. Sometimes during the day it can go up to 55c.

i've forgotten. usually after flashing i have to reconfigure the bios again.
i jsut checked out the price if i order a bios chip from abit-usa thru a fren. ranging from $27-$110, time from 4-6weeks for $27 and $110 for about a week. some sites charge $20+, delivery time 10-14 days.

when i change from stock bios to mantaray xt 2t it just does!

before that cannot,,,,,, even if i feed it with 2.9V and low fsb

now is okay,,,,, can do 2-2-2-11 2.8v at max stable fsb 230 x 11 ..

but i just use 210 coz the temp for 230 is too high,,, reach 57+

now very happy biggrin.gif
