erm, the paddle shifter is still controlled by the same transmission DSG, i don't really get you mean here  rclxub.gif
it is useful if say i'm cruising on 6th gear, but want some overtaking power, i just press the downshift button and it goes to 5th gear immedietly.
up to you if you want the DSG to do all the work, but there are times when i need to control the gear manually.

hahaha, sorry, i meant my fingers tongue.gif
the DSG is super responsive that's why i am wondering why the need for paddle shifts...
i was cruising at 6 when i wanted to overtake, i just tapped the accelerator and the gear shifted to 3rd immediately! instantaneous power... geng rclxms.gif

DSG shifts fast and smooth, but which gear it will go still depends on the driver
with paddle shifter, you can control which gear you want to go to

no wonder you dont feel anything that is not right when i mentioned that why there arent any manual override function in Fiesta's dual clutch transmission doh.gif

Wondered when the GTI & Scirocco will get the 7 speed DSG. Now it seems this latest (dry type) 7 speed DSG is limited to torque up to 250nm

torque difference is because the latest engine is 1.4 twincharged... the gti and 2.0 scirocco have more torque because they are 2.0 turbocharged, nothing to do with the DSG right? doh.gif

I think you got it wrongly.

Both the Scirocco Sport (previously known as Scirocco) & GTI with 2.0 TSI engine is using 6-speed DSG, not the 7-speed DSG. The reason is the 7-speed DSG (at this moment) cannot handle the 280 nm of torque.

Please google it.

probably not a good idea.. since the polo is a smaller car than the 308.

the size of 308 isnt great too... so polo is even worst??? but actually this shouldn't be any problem since most the time only 2 person (driver and 1 passenger).

depends on what you want... Polo is B segment, 308 is C segment... i'm a VW fan so i'll definitely go for VW if i have the money...

now headache whether to get Vios E at RM900+ per month or squeeze a bit and get the Polo at RM1200+ per month...

polo's rear seat is only meant for shorter distance, it's not spacious, but if you only fetch 1 person most of the time, you dont see much difference, apart from being more narrow

take in consideration of depreciation, parts availability, service costs as well
good thing about a vios is, most workshops out there can and know how to fix one
i cant say the same about VWs

i don't care about depreciation cos i'm not changing my car if i go european... also... it's a VW... what to change to?

service wise is 15000km... should be pretty much similar to Vios 3 x 5000km...

spare parts might be a problem... just don't bang or anything like that... engine and other internal parts should last longer than japs... by right it should unless i got a defect car tongue.gif

service center wise... my uncle has a VW too, maybe i can consider taking a drive down to Singapore every half a year, do some visiting, makan and at the same time service tongue.gif

between pug 308 and the new polo, I'd say better do the test drive first. If possible back to back on the same morning. Then only you decide.

For me, no need test drive, I'll always choose VW, anytime smile.gif
