Ah can't wait to test drive the Golf 1.4TSI as well. Very tempted to place a booking now but would want to qualm my fears about the car and have a test drive on it.

Anyone else is interested in the car?

interested in VW since mk5 but not willing to spend more than 100k for a car... that's why the Polo is soooooo tempting... its 110k, fffff tongue.gif

Yeah the Polo is nice as well but I sat in one before (not the new version) and I found it to be quite cramped (I am rather large tongue.gif). I test drove the Golf GTI Mk6 several times already and I really love that car. Contemplating whether I should save up for the Mk6 instead of the 1.4

even the latest top gear mag's hot hatch tests section said that it didnt really live up to expectations...it does look really good though...but i'd rather get a mito if its in the 150k price range....if 130k...then its damn worth it....

well, a RM110k with 9 years loan at 3.5% is just RM1.2k per month... with the 1/3 bank rule, definitely someone with no commitments and RM3.2k salary can afford it tongue.gif

checkout the dimensions... Polo and Jazz is just a few cm from each other... this is where the headache comes in... price is the same, Polo has full leather, 1.2 turbocharged engine, fuel economy and full leather... what does the Jazz give you? tongue.gif
*
I would choose the Polo over the Jazz without batting an eyelid since they are similar priced. But the fact remains that in terms of interior space, the Jazz offers more (esp the boot space) and there are people who need the larger carrying capacity.

All I can say that both the Polo and the Jazz (and many other B segments) are horrendously overrpriced in Malaysia... Regardless of which one you choose it's just not the best bang for buck.

As for whether someone with 3.2K salary should buy a 110K car, it all depends on the individual. 1.2K per month for loan is just the beginning... add up petrol+maintenance it'll almost reach half of the net income, and that's still not including stuff like food/entertainment/rent/pocket money for parents etc. At the end of the month, the amount entering the savings account should be at least 1/4 to 1/3 of the salary, ideally.

Never say that one has no commitments as that is ridiculous - in 9 years' time you'll probably end up getting married/buying a house/have kids/need to support family (both your kids and your retiring parents +/- siblings who might still be studying).
