Warranty is void for reflashing the ecu, even if it is done from ABT

Kawan.... where got 'huge saving'?! He's talking about the 1.4 roc lah. It's already 190+ including insurance. Summore if u chip it, then the price will even be closer.

Can we flash back the stock map just before we go back to VW, so they won't be able to tell the diff?

well, i think the only difference is the adaptive chassis control that has on the GTi right (of course the engine as well)? and some exterior changes and leather seats... other than that everything else should be the same? correct me if im wrong...

Yeah that the tough choice, Roc looks sexy but Gti has all the nice feature, this is really tough

for me, the choice is fairly obvious. i prefer the golf more than i do the roc wink.gif so given between the TSI roc/golf, i'd still choose the golf biggrin.gif

yup.. if you want 1.4 TSI, you have to pay 158,888++  smile.gif

Which dealer did your mum go to? My friend just ordered a Golf TSI without the L&S package. Car arriving in March 2011 as he requested for a 2011 manufactured car.

You can do that but you will end up having to pay another RM4k if you want it to be reflashed again. (of course the price depends on which flash you can get). Some shops who do custom remapping can "guarantee" that your warranty won't be voided.

Congrats mate! Did you manage to get a lot of discount from Cergaz? Since the car is a 2010 model.

1st hand always "BEST"!!!! The feeling always different one......In terms of performance, the 1.4 'should' be good enough, but of course 2.0 always more powerful lah.... \
the 2nd hand 2.0 is good as some dude already absorbed the initial depreciation. Without a question, 2.0 will be more powerful than the 1.4..... But u seriously need to know the condition of the car. They always touchup nice-nice outside.....the 1.4 has 5 yr warranty, but the 2nd hand one doesn't. So if u can find a reasonably good condition Mk5 GTi, go ahead lor.

Yeah some times if you have any black list of taken out a larger loan (say a housing loan) the bank might decline your car loan.

I had the same dillema and in the end after weighing the pros and cons, I decided for a 1.4 TSi Mk6 instead. Key pros for me was the new car, 5-year warranty and supposedly better looks.

Yup, totally agree with you here. It was hard to find a stock Mk5 initially and one with low mileage. Most of the units I went to view and test drove had a lot of wear and tear on it and was on the higher side of the mileage (around 50k km and above) and at a high price as well.

Why don't you check with the other dealers, give them a call. They might have 1 or 2 2010 units sitting around but perhaps not in CW though.

Anyone wanna get their Golfs remapped this coming 15th January?

Dylan from dktuning is coming down from Penang. Ori price for tsi is 3000 and gti is 2800. If we can get a few interested ones here, then surely there'll be a group discount for all of us.

More info at dktuning.com / info@dktuning.com
