Are you running antivirus on your system. Using bootracer, my time to desktop is 22 sec (w/o antivirus). With antivirus it is 26 sec. This is tested on my Dell laptop, running WinXP with Intel X25M 34nm 80GB SSD.

Windows 8 will be even faster because it will be using a new pseudo-boot-sleep-hibernate hybrid. This post has been edited by everling: Oct 20 2011, 07:22 PM

QUOTE(DrBlueBox @ Oct 20 2011, 06:25 AM) oh you have to play that song in the background my boot time is slower here(17 sec to desktop and 40sec for all apps to load), but than I have all my applications that running. turning it off, I shave off 17 seconds off to total of 23sec. but what i love abt ssd is that, SSD allows me to run apps immediately when desktop is loaded while apps still are loading in thr background unlike hdd when u need to wait for everything to be loaded furst b4 u can use the comp.
