Didn't do anything. It's fast enough to not show the welcome screen after I changed to AHCI mode

Are you running antivirus on your system.

Using bootracer, my time to desktop is 22 sec (w/o antivirus). With antivirus it is 26 sec.

This is tested on my Dell laptop, running WinXP with Intel X25M 34nm 80GB SSD.

Windows XP should be slower than Windows 7 to boot. Windows 8 will be even faster because it will be using a new pseudo-boot-sleep-hibernate hybrid.

oh you have to play that song in the background drool.gif

my boot time is slower here(17 sec to desktop and 40sec for all apps to load), but than I have all my applications that running. turning it off, I shave off 17 seconds off to total of 23sec.

but what i love abt ssd is that, SSD allows me to run apps immediately when desktop is loaded while apps still are loading in thr background unlike hdd when u need to wait for everything to be loaded furst b4 u can use the comp.

depends whether u want the unpredictable sandforce(dunno if the new firmware has already fix the problem) or u want the stability of marvell.
